Mom is almost 89 with Alzheimer's. Ohhhh, but when I drop this jizzie, it's on! Part of her memory kicks into gear and and she's on her feet doing her 2-step and singing a line or two! The POWER of music cannot be denied!! This is one of 4 songs that goes straight to her memory bank and revives parts of brain; it the music!
THAT IS AWESOME BABY!
Raised in the same down home
I so love this... I'm glad that you do that for your mom. If this happens to me I hope my son will play the songs for me as well because they are my heart and soul and will always be stored in my memory bank. God bless your mom
See
a line or two will do of theas down homw blues
We have lost a generation of listening to our history, blues will never be the Ojays and yes I love them, ZZ we love you and down home blues.
My JAM....I'm 69, My grandmother, mother and dad, great aunt, aunt, my in laws, and many of our friends-- we all love and for those who've gone on.... loved ZZ's music and me with my mother for 35 years.... we hosted the "Boogie Blues Tours" one of the first ever party bus type businesses called Omega Tours Group in Cleveland Ohio. We rocked those busses with blues to every casino, horse and dog racetrack surrounding Ohio!
I actually had the pleasure to meet ZZ and attend a few of his performances. I was good friends with one of his road managers. He was a wonderful entertainer.
🎶🎸 Take off those fast records. And let me hear some down blues🙌🏿🎹💃🏿
I was a little kid come from Chicago to Mississippi, my dad and grandpa played this back to back and is the reason I love the blues right now today
R.I.P to my Aunt Shirley who recently passed away at 80-years-young🙏🏿👼🏾😢!!!
Everytime we used to go to her house, this joint be on and all my uncle's and aunts would be there playin' cards and gettin' their drank on, lol🤣♠️♣️♥️♦️🃏🥃!!!!!!!
Rest easy, auntie!
Beautiful ❤
My condolences. I was shook to hear the similarities. It was my aunt Pearl who recently passed away and she would play this album and Johnny Taylor's on repeat. And the game was dominoes. I'd sing these songs in my kindergarten class and I couldn't fathom why the other 5 year olds didn't know these songs. I'll forever miss her singing, two-stepping and cha-cha.
My best friend's mom is one of the backup singers; this is the first time I am hearing it, and all I can think is Miss Charlotte is lovely...
This is when the family party turn into the grown folks party 😂
Rest easy pops we used to jam this on EVERY road trip!🙏🏾🖤
I’m sure my dad loved this, I can see him now tapping his foot, pumping his fist, god rest dad, miss ya ❤️
😢🥺♥️💯
I was a young white kid that grew up in rural Texas and liked to listen to this and party with this crowd. I never saw ZZ Hill live or Joe Tex but I sure knew who they where and listened to their music. Thanks for posting

I love it! Please do "Cheating In The Next Room" next. It was of my grandmother's favorite song. I love that you are doing this. Bringing new life and visuals to these classics. I'm glad they are not forgotten. Tell Mr. Couch I said hello (just a fan who met him years ago). He was so nice to me and sent me a lot of free Malaco CDs. I'll never forget his kindness, and his kindness made me to always remember to be kind. Thank you again for these "new" take on old classics.
