Only in Dreams is fantastic and a true showing of their instrumental mastership. It's one of the few songs that give me goosebumps every single time, the crescendo at the end is so good it makes me just close my eyes and listen. It's powerful.
listening to pinkerton before this really wasn't the best way to do it in hindsight. also nobody talks about Maladroit but it bangs so I'd highly recommend that one.

Recomendation alert from me - it's a bit of a special one, since I don't think any reactors I can think of have covered it: The Holy Bible by the Manic Street Preachers. They're a rock band from the UK, and while they're really popular over here for their later stuff they're pretty unknown in the US. The Holy Bible is their third record, released in 1994 (same year as Weezer!) and it's gone down in history as one of the darkest albums ever made. Their guitarist, Richie Edwards, wrote the lyrics for it, and he was going through some MAJOR shit at the time. The music is insanely catchy and anthemic, and because of the way it's sung you won't pick up on what the singer's saying at first, but if you listen while reading the lyrics it gets majorly bleak. In the era of Oasis and Blur, it was VERY different. A few months after the album came out, Richie Edwards vanished, never to be seen ever again. People often compare it to Pinkerton - a big rock band's darkest and most musically visceral album, not anything like what they did before or since. It's one of the best things ever IMO.
My wife was always way more into Weezer and he nerd/geek rock genre than I was in the day. They had some rockers though. The Blue Album and the follow up Green Album were their best. Just saw them a couple of nights ago in their current tour performing the Blue Album in its entirety. We and our daughter had a fun night.

This is a classic album of the 2000s, easily imo stand together with daft punk discovery as the most important and influential sample based albums of the last 20 years. Add avalanches to that list too wich u have listened to. And Person pitch is of the same quality. The artist is part of the well known collective, surely u have heard of em, animal collective. And in this influential group, some members made solo project. Person Pitch is in contention to be the best work out off all of their creations. Really crucial album in the indie 'zeitgeist'.
You should react to Fantastic Planet by Failure or You'd Prefer An Astronaut by Hum. They are both underrated obscure alt rock masterpieces from the 90s
Love the channel for both your enthusiasm and insightfulness. One big difference between us is that I love dark lyrics. They really do something for me. I think you tend to misunderstand how artists employ perverse and fucked up lyrics. On No One Else, he's not literally saying that he thinks it's okay to be emotionally controlling and co-dependent. He's saying that he's so insecure that he can't handle a normal relationship. He's saying, hey everybody look how fucked up I am. He's inviting us to explore that part of ourselves. You got really hung up on the "lover's piss" metaphor that comes up a couple times in You Forgot in People. Try to think about what he's saying there. It's a powerful image. What does it mean to drink lover's piss? I think he's talking about that feeling of being damaged that you'd rather put up with pain and humiliation than try to sleep in a bed alone. Maybe it's even deeper than that. It's such a wild and passionate thing to say. I wouldn't so quickly dismiss is as gooner shit. Just something to think about. I think your problem may be that you're too emotionally healthy 😆 I'd love to hear you react to something like People Who Can Eat People are the Luckiest People in The World by AJJ or Alopecia by Why? Those are some dark ass lyrics.

day 3 of asking you to react to Untilted by Autechre until you eventually do it 🤑 the album is very beat heavy and doesn't focus too much on the melodies but they are still prevalent and even really stunning and quite memorable at times about the beats, they are often a bit harsh and metallic but structured in such a perfect, calculated and controlled way that even at times where to newer listeners it may sound like chaos, if you listen close enough and really analyse, you'll find some of the coolest drum programming you may ever hear I think its best for you to listen to the details of the songs to get the most out of them, especially when you aren't the most familiar with autechre safe to say, this is my favorite album for many of the reasons i stated above and I'd really like to see your reaction to this unrecognized IDM masterpiece
A lot of great stuff on this album but I lean towards the Green Album myself as a Weezer fan. Another request for “Ray Of Light” by Madonna and “Little Earthquakes” by Tori Amos.

Mary Tyler Moore was a famous TV actress from the '60s and 70's. The references hit in the mid 90's, gave a real specific vibe, not so much today.
You should listen to Life’s Rich Pageant by R.E.M. thats another great band to give a listen to
The Sweater Song will definitely stick around in your head! It’s still there for me all these years later.
You gotta give The Unnatural World by Have A Nice Life a spin, it’s so haunting and underrated.

the album is very beat heavy and doesn't focus too much on the melodies but they are still prevalent and even really stunning and quite memorable at times
about the beats, they are often a bit harsh and metallic but structured in such a perfect, calculated and controlled way that even at times where to newer listeners it may sound like chaos, if you listen close enough and really analyse, you'll find some of the coolest drum programming you may ever hear
I think its best for you to listen to the details of the songs to get the most out of them, especially when you aren't the most familiar with autechre
safe to say, this is my favorite album for many of the reasons i stated above and I'd really like to see your reaction to this unrecognized IDM masterpiece
