    If you put them in freezer for 20 minutes you can put the toothpick in there without changing the shape

    How long do you recommend cooking the beads for? And at what temperature? I saw you had a cooking tutorial, but for some reason when I clicked the link it was invalid.

    You're funny, I genuinely smiled while I watched this! My first time marbling I chose the wrong colors and made the most putrid flower - straight out of an LSD 1960's Hippie Love Fest; I've got nothing against the era, I wish I lived through it, but lets be real, some of the combo colors used weren't the prettiest.
    I've always had a creative streak and over the last 4-5 yrs I've had the absolute overwhelming desire to start using clay, start a new hobby if you will. It was one of those things where the desire was so complete I honestly felt I'd be decent as a newbie. I'm proud of what I've created thus far (99.9% at least) and my talents are getting better with every passing project but I'm still spending hours on end making the most basic items; I suppose that'll quicken with time and practice. Nevertheless I really want to make a special bracelet for my Mom. On Mother's Day last year she almost died, she was on constant 24 HR. watch in ICU for over 14 days while she was in a coma on life support. Nearly a year later and roughly a grand total of 8 months in the hospital, she survived and is home. So her 'Alive Day' or Anniversary is coming up and I'd like to celebrate that; I'd be lost w/o her despite my age - she's my best friend. I assumed bead making would be more difficult b/c my first attempts, although okay, weren't 'perfect'; I was destroying them when I made the hole. Thank you for showing a brilliant way to hold them while baking but furthermore for letting us newbies know not to push but to screw/twist the hole into place... I was pushing and in the processes squishing. 🤦🏻
    And in case you're curious why I made a putrid flower it's b/c I have an issue throwing away even the smallest piece of clay. Coming from a low income family & still being at the bottom of that social totem pole, I worry that I'll need even the smallest of pieces; I do make small charms so its plausible I'll be able to use them. Therefore my hideous concoction was turned into a flower power beauty **cough cough** to avoid waste. haha

    If you put the hole in them with toothpicks you can take the toothout before place them in the oven to harden and they will keep there shape! I have collection of beads made this way!

    Hi,
    I just started playing with polymer clay. First tried beads. When I roll the clay, all my finger print stick to clay.mhow to remove t?? How to get prefer round shape????

    • @ShelleyJovel
      @ShelleyJovel  10 лет назад +1

      To get a perfectly round shape I believe there is some kind of acrylic tool that you can use I think they're called bead rollers. To get the finger prints out all you need to do is use a little bit of cornstarch. The cornstarch will come off naturally after you bake them.

    • @biggestcrybabyever64
      @biggestcrybabyever64 10 лет назад

      Also, it depends on the size of the bead. If it is small, it is hard to notice. If it is big, Yeah, cornstarch helps. Or rubbing achahol! I have no clue how to spell that. :)
