Fix For any laptop that won't power on especially Thinkpad Lenovo x1 Carbon

Quick no-fuss way to turn on a laptop that won't turn on. My laptop does this to me every few days and at first, it had me stumped.
Power Issue
The screen won't turn on and need to be de-powered and the battery disconnected then drain the remaining power with a CMOS reset.
Unscrew 7 screws underneath and pull the keyboard up it will unclick then you can get to the battery be careful.
For anybody wondering. The reason this works I believe is because he’s doing a CMOS reset. You generally can do this in a few ways. But this looks exactly like how you do it on a desktop.

Hi everyone, need your help. My lenovo x220 has power, and you can only see the display of when you will flashlight the screen... And you will see a very dim display. I tried removing CMOS battery while it's OFF, cleaning memory and hard disk connection, cleaning LCD connection to board... But still the same problem. Any advise pls?
I know this is a year late (if not a dollar short) but it might be the backlight inverter. It's generally a narrow PCB. Are/were you able to plug an external monitor in to see if anything shows up?

damn i try it and it doesnt work
my laptop charging light showing but if i hold turn on buttons for 20 sec charging light disconect and when took out battery (battery are inside laptop) and when i plug in then it shows that charging

Hello and Good day. May I ask if that connection you disconnected and connected during power On is for CMOS battery?
No the connection I removed was from the main lithium battery.. You need to drain the capacitors by disconnecting the battery then pressing power to allow the discharge..

if you have the same laptop there is screws underneath and then it unclips
so I can reconnect the battery while plugged in?

What kind of laptop do you have.. If it is a lenovo think pad carbon it's just a set of small screws and the pry the plastic apart and it will unclick

Sounds good, but i don't think it's safe to be connecting a battery to a laptop that's powered on through mains already?
Is all very low voltage at the worst case.. But yeah probably best to plug the battery in before connecting the charging cable

This does not work I’ve look at every video and they all say to disconnect battery then plug back in but it doesn’t work

@@kharali3475 hrmm seems like your problem is a little different to mine ... have you already tried the reset button on the under side of the laptop ... failing that i would still give my fix a shot opening up the laptop and disconnecting the battery and then holding the power button down to release residue power and then put it all back plug her in and give it a shot HTH

My Lenovo ideapad slim 5 was functioning slowly then I went to Lenovo website and downloaded drivers
It was processing flash and reboot was happening lastly there was a 3 bars loading then my screen went Off only keyboard fn+space for keyboard lighting was working.
Then I went to a local service shop they asked me to revisit after 4 hours when I went back they told that there is a problem in Mother board but they are not sure what is the actual issue is and they will repair it after 2 days.
I brought back laptop to home.
Earlier when I click on NOVA biaos button in the side with a sim Ejector atleast keyboard Lights used to turn On but now that's not working even charge indication light is not functioning.
Plz do help me out.
