I love how Daigo hadn't used a single fireball for almost 10 full seconds before Mike landed that ultra. I love how he hadn't used one that far away for much longer. And I love how Mike used Honda's cr.HP from max range to push Daigo back as far as possible to give himself reaction room. And most of all I love how Mike has used Excellent Adventures to convince the world he's not a genius.

@ryu11 mvc3 is skillful, although theres quite a few broken characters, its not like anyone can pick it up and win, it still takes practice. and ultimate is going to be a lot more fair (hopefully) since it seems like their wont be anyone in the "wolverine" tier section.
To the people saying Mike Ross isn't very good, I suggest you watch his documentary, "FOCUS". Hell, I'd recommend it to anyone interested, it's a damn good documentary, and shows what Mike went through leading up to this match.
Great Honda strategy at the start of the rnd. one game one. Hovering at the perfect distance mid screen where he can neural jump safely over a fire ball barrage and be able to jump towards and punish bad fire balls. Occasionally chipping with lp to hands, focusing fire balls and building meter to make those punishes hurt more with hands into super . But the stratagy all falls apart when he couldn't give daigo reason to stay mid screen with a good keep out game. i.e. game one round two.

It's not about the maneuvers. Everyone knows Ryu's arsenal, even people that have never played Ryu. It's all about gameplan versus gameplan. That's why it's difficult for people to beat Daigo, even if he uses the most studied character in the fighting game genre.
This perfectly illustrates why Daigo is so renowned, you can spot the moment Mike loses focus and starts to get desperate. Even up to the moment he is loses at set Daigo stays calm.
I love Adam Sessler. He is awesome and commentary isn't noobish like Evo 2k8 brawl vids / :, if you want bad commentary that is your haven. anyway, Mike Ross is cool guy : ) Daigo is always my favorite though xDD
That chain of like, nine throws in a row was just mean. Mike Ross never recovered from that: for the rest of the match, you can see him flailing around trying to get a solid sequence in on Umehara, but not. . . quite. . . connecting.

You can't say daigo is the best player in the world atm, he's been losing alot recently there's tournaments in 2k11 that he hasn't even placed in, you could easily argue that Momochi or Gamerbee are better.
Ryu is pretty insane in SF4. He doesn't really have any bad moves and his fireball recovery is pretty OP for a QC character. If you just objectively look at the tools each character has it's pretty obvious why this match went the way it did - especially given that both players are pros

I ain't no fanboy of Daigo, but I experience with what you mean. I play tekken tag before and did wonderful combos and gameplay. But I was defeated by a Paul user who plays like Filipino Champ, run and hit style. In a critical situation, it'll all fall to mind games and Daigo is best at this.
I normally like having someone give the "unaware" comentary when it's actually logical questioning or trying to get a brief explanation of something, but ( as much as I like Sessler ) Adam really took away from the usual commentary quality we get from Evo. Yes, I know he was doing his best, and I'd rather have someone try thier best then just blather on meaninglessly, but still, asking qeustions is MUCH different from just banging on haplessly, like Sessler did.
