    I love this blanket.... I have made one already and getting ready to make another one... I love the way it changes... Not boring as far as the repeat goes..... I love both patterns... Granny and Virus.. and putting them together is Genius!🤗🤩🙃🤗❣️

    Fiber Spider, I do hope that you have time occasionally to read all the kind words and praise we have posted here. I cannot understand why you aren't sponsored by a yarn company!! I really appreciate the time stamps and the row counter that you've included. They make it so much easier to pick up where I left off! Your tutorials are clear, concise and easily followed. Your fingers never get in the way so I can't see. And your voice is calm, quiet and soothing, perfect for teaching!. I like the way you say "don't worry about such and such it will come right..." etc. Your tutorials are always the ones I go to first. Your patience and encouragement really come through. Thank you.

    Those colors 😍
    I made a virus blanket but I did 5 and 3 chains instead of 7 and 4 it helped me to get a flatter blanket. But yours is so lacy and pretty. I love what you did with the center ring that was so cool.

  • @kathym.4307
    @kathym.4307 4 года назад +17

    I love this pattern but I find the center was too warped for me to deal with so I made a modification that seems to help. On the first round I started with 10 double crochets in the ring. Round 2 I did 2 dc in each stitch for a total of 20 dcs. Round 3 I also did 2 dc in each stitch for a total of 40 ( like your round 2.) Round 4 I did as your round 3. So my virus pattern starts on round 5. Basically I added a row at the beginning. It lays much flatter this way.
    I love your tutorials and have made so many of your creations. Thank you!

      Try starting with a cinch circle. I find that easier than starting with the chain method.

    • @kathym.4307
      @kathym.4307 3 года назад +2

      Gail Burd Thanks for your reply. I always use the magic circle or cinch method. I find the chain loop too bulky. The warping i was referring to was from too many stitches in the circle.

    • @MotherOfFerrets75
      @MotherOfFerrets75 6 лет назад

      @@hgf413 I haven't been able to start it yet. However this pattern is going to be a yarn beast. I picked up more Mandala skeins just in case. Going to start the pattern with just two and see how far I get. Am shooting for a blanket that is between 3 to 4 feet long/wide. But yes this would make a great shrug. My sister made a shrug out of the pattern. Hers though was done in a triangular shape.

    It's the Canadian gal here. I'm presently making this in the exact same color of yarn that you are using for a baby blanket. I never realized when I chose my yarn that our colors were the same. How funny is that. I've made this blanket in the past & I ch 5 vice your 7 & I also ch 3 vice your 4. I find the holes are not as big & it works out perfectly. I've also made this virus meets granny in a shawl & its also lovely. Thanks for a great tutorial...……………..keep up the awesome work

    Thank you for your amazing tutorial! P.S. synching the middle closed means a stronger core for your blanket too! Meaning that all the stitches are pulling less, if that makes sense. Meaning less warbling of the blanket compared to an open centre, where stitches are being pulled more due to the weight of blanket.
