I'm Italian and I don't think we've ever got a dubbed version of this show, but it's fucking amazing. How come was it removed from TV? It's such a masterpiece of comedy.

She had me on tinned tuna and mustard diets and drinking laxative teas since I was six years old. Once I lost a bunch of weight as a teenager, she became resentful and bitterly jealous of me. She’s just like Marjorie.
Luckily DVD's of the show will always be around so long as they're looked after. This is a reason why physical media should always exist. Anything that is put online or on a streaming service can be taken down at any time. Those who say DVD's or Blu Rays are obsolete won't have such big mouths when they're favourite movies/shows are taken away from all non physical platforms for not being PC enough.

Truly the funniest show on TV since Black Adder, The Young Ones and (initial series) Absolutely Fabulous. I wasn’t aware they did a US centric series…. Having the luxury of being able to live in both U.K. and USA I can confirm majority of characters transfer successfully ( the hotel resident not so… )
The best recent one is The Inbetweeners. That one is an absolute classic. However, I can't remember of any more great comedy shows that come close to these. Maybe The Ricky Gervais show, but despite how funny it is, it's not the same genre, it's a bit too different. There's also Come Fly With Me, that's a other good one. Just can't think of anything after The Inbetweeners, though.

That hospital receptionist is a very accurate description of how one indeed gets treated everywhere here in the UK. Uninterested, abusive and aggressive staff that would be unemployable outside of government agencies (like the NHS, councils, other organizations) being difficult on purpose because it gives them a sense of power in their empty and meaningless lives. If one stands up for one's rights, it gets claimed one was "abusive" or "disruptive"! And they stick to the "procedure" - so they say because the procedure in most cases doesn't exist, they are just too lazy to do their jobs. Daily occurrence unfortunately!

Well,I had a gay friend who had a few mental probs as well.He asked me to come with him.to a Job Center meeting.Frankly,I was shocked by the way he was treated there.But I was afraid to say all I wanted to,in case he,somehow,would get the flak later.Not a good experience.

You are right, if you would have said something, your friend would have gotten a lot of flak later. I'm going through this with my landlord now - had to get lawyers involved it was that bad, now they are really going for me and barely a day goes by where they don't aggressively threaten me, even the lawyers are shocked and say they've never come across anything like it before!

I've been marked as "violent and aggressive" - in reality I cannot even walk or lift my left arm, cannot stand without major breathing difficulties, cannot talk when standing, and am a tiny and terrified girl! They demand to come in on an almost daily basis - or at times even daily - so I'm forced to live permanently with all my possessions locked away (for reasons of privacy I don't want them to see what I got) - I'm literally living out of cardboard boxes because they want to look inside my wardrobes and airing cupboard too so I can't keep anything in there. I might as well live on the streets, I'm living out of cardboard boxes already and have zero privacy (they come into all rooms when they come in)! Since beginning of this year I've been more in hospital than at home, fighting for my life, only to come home and find yet another threatening letter of them demanding to come in and threatening me with court action if I don't comply. All this got a lot worse since I got the lawyers involved for them refusing to do repairs, since then they are really going for me. The stress is making my disability and the pain worse, I now can barely sleep at night due to the pain! Last night I think I had a heart attack due to all this! Each time they come in, it results in them falsely accusing me of having attacked them, having been abusive etc. Each time it's a major confrontation in my house where they come in - three or four of them, usually men - and I'm a single lady and totally bedbound (cannot walk, cannot sit, have no use of my left arm, have breathing difficulties) and then they demand to look inside my wardrobe and cupboards or they just rip doors to cupboards open - when I politely ask them not to do so, they scream at me and then claim to my lawyers that I had allegedly been "abusive, aggressive, violent and obstructive" or that I'm allegedly "growing drugs in my wardrobes".
I've been marked as "violent and aggressive" - in reality I cannot even walk or lift my left arm, cannot stand without major breathing difficulties, cannot talk when standing, and am a tiny and terrified girl!
They demand to come in on an almost daily basis - or at times even daily - so I'm forced to live permanently with all my possessions locked away (for reasons of privacy I don't want them to see what I got) - I'm literally living out of cardboard boxes because they want to look inside my wardrobes and airing cupboard too so I can't keep anything in there.
I might as well live on the streets, I'm living out of cardboard boxes already and have zero privacy (they come into all rooms when they come in)!
Since beginning of this year I've been more in hospital than at home, fighting for my life, only to come home and find yet another threatening letter of them demanding to come in and threatening me with court action if I don't comply. All this got a lot worse since I got the lawyers involved for them refusing to do repairs, since then they are really going for me.
The stress is making my disability and the pain worse, I now can barely sleep at night due to the pain! Last night I think I had a heart attack due to all this!
