Start at 3:40 to skip all the talking. Only difference in the way I do it is I fold my cord in half and hook it onto the reel and then wind it up. This way, as I pull one side it unwinds half on each side. and I only have to wind half the length I used.
@@caverli The video is a lot more helpful, though, for people like myself, who don’t know how to read, and are blind in 2 eyes, and dumb as a brick. My people need videos like this.
You can accomplish the same thing by leaving a little bit more of the end of the Cord outside the Reel and then you can forgo the little extension cord.
Cord reels work because you "WIND" up the cord. Give it some thought. You don't "COIL" the cord. When a cord (or hose) is "UNCOILED" it causes a "TWIST" in the cord (or hose). The twisting from "UNCOILING" causes your electrical wires to shift in relation to the sheathing. Thereafter the extension cord becomes harder and harder to "COIL" up. Winding avoids the coiling. A suggestion to your solution is that if you need more cord unplug your short extension cord, "unwind" more cord then plug in your short cord again. Cordless tools have become so good that I avoid corded tools as much as possible. Extension cords and gasoline powered tools take time and effort away from focusing on your work.
Thanks for the video, man I’m a dumb ass, I’ve been trying to figure out how to use this for ever, I wanted to leave the plug in the outlets and just be able to wind and unwind the cord but realized you can’t do that, thanks again
All but one of you dorks have no clue to what that hook inside the reel is actually there for. That hook inside the reel is where you can attach the exact center of the length of your cord. Then you reel up BOTH half lengths of the cord simultaneously, leaving BOTH the male and female ends free for immediate use. Just reel out as much of the double cord as you need, then plug the male into the outlet and your tool into the female. When you're finished, just reel in both ends again simultaneously.
I did what you said Bryan...it worked well enough for me..my husband made sure to hold the end plug so it didnt shift around while spinning the rest of the cord around the spool. 👏👍👌
Total misdirections for winding cord and adding the need for an extension cord. Can't believe how TOTALLY wrong these instructions are for using this cord wheel.
Nice video but you shouldn't have to have a second power cord. Why not leave main power cord end out longer. No sense to waste money to buy a second short cord to make this work

phartattack That’s a good idea.
Fantastic. You just bested this guy's 7.5-minute video with one short sentence.

If you do that, the end will get in the way when winding the cord back up.
A very simple and elegant solution. Thank you my friend!

So smart. Thank you for sharing your idea and making this video.
Thank you. Like all genius solutions, this is simple. But I had not thought of it, so I greatly appreciate your video.

Yes you can. These instructions are wrong.

Harry Reams can you make video showing to do that
Change "Dork" to "Dumass" for me. I've been winding it like we wound telephone wire in the Army. NOW you solution makes MUCH MORE SENSE. Thanks!!!
Thank You for this easy solution
Could you not just simply pull enough cord thru before locking it down, to reach the outlet without purchasing another short cord?
No, put the other end in first (short is fine) and you can use it perfectly
I did what you said Bryan...it worked well enough for me..my husband made sure to hold the end plug so it didnt shift around while spinning the rest of the cord around the spool. 👏👍👌
Just forward to 3:50 to save some time.

You are a genius! Thank you!
good i deal better that way i try leaving a little bit more cors but it hit you your way is better

Ahh perfect , thanks.
Thanks Balithazzarr!
Thank you 😊
Very helpful, thanks!
Warning: Make sure your cord is free of kinks, bends, breaks, etc., or it'll be far more difficult to wind it.
T-t-t-today junior!

Because leaving it longer means whenever you roll the wire back up the loose wire hits your groin.. plop plop
it is dangerous to use a cord that is reeled. Unwind it totally before use.
Get to the point of what is best way to use it!
Quick and easy? no. Quick and easy is one minute, two minutes tops. Not almost 8 minutes.
leave male side of the cord 3-4 feet out and you won't have to use white cord
The problem with that is the cord flips and flops constantly when you try to wind it up and it's a huge pain
video is good audio sucks
