Thank you Mr. Schnitzer for what you do in the art world. I miss Portland and will never forget meeting your mom, incredible family. With grace.

As an Art collector myself, I share his sentiments for sharing Art with others.

Heartwarming how? Seeing how someone can cheat the system by starting a 501, so they can ammas an enormous treasure trove of art while not paying their fare share in taxes on them? Further burdening the lower/middle class with THEIR share of the taxes that the state isn't getting from another Uber rich entity? I believe non profits should be forced to sell/donate 90% of the whatever comes in to their possession. Whether it be cash, art, or what have you. Meanwhile ya'll keep complaining about the homeless/drug/crime problems that plague your state.

Oh, yes! Just look at ALLL that tax money that the lower/middle class is having to make up for. Isn't it beautiful!?!

Some people can find anything to complain about regardless of the message. Keep complaining on the internet, maybe someday you'll make a difference @@alexandersupertramp7353 🤡

If they loan the artwork out for free, how is all this being payed for? Employees, facilities, the acquisition costs of the artwork itself.. What part of the collection turns a profit to pay for its own upkeep? Maybe I missed that small detail somewhere but I just wonder. Is there lines of equity being held on certain works? The collection must be worth millions.

When I went "back to school" in the 90s, I created a tribute to Andy Warhol. My first choice was Roy Lichtenstein, but my college library didn't have any books that focused on him. My Warhol pieces didn't start out as anything but a single piece. It evolved into a rather large body or work including multiples, which of course was characteristic of the artist.
Sadly, I entrusted a "friend" with moving my huge trailer of possessions and artwork to my new residence 50 miles away. I never heard from him or about him, again. i still cringe when I think about it …

if prints were valuable, monetarily or culturally, then why would they be boxed up in warehouses?

For an ultra-rich family to hide all of this fabulous art away, under the guise of a 501(c)(3) is despicable. And for OPB to make this collection something to admire is sad. Share the art! Show it all over the Pacific Northwest, and the world! Sell a work of art, and build homes for the homeless. Sell a work of art, and give it to Portland Arts and Recreation, to improve their qualities of life.

If I walked into your den and saw your records in disarray and your reel to reel collection not in proper order I might think the same.....to the multi-billion crowd these might be such amusements......the mega mega rich are focused on space

As far as I can see, this collection has a certain look that is non offensive, light and fluffy. It might get big art names into museums at low cost, but it doesn't have much impact. I'd be looking for a lot more guts in an art museum.
