      @onemuststand7353 3 месяца назад

      @@ThePenpachi Retcons don't change the story. You're mistaking the usage of retcons in literary sense. It changes the interpretation of the story. Flashbacks are usually tool used to create well written retcons. Kreese's original story interpretation is a simple evil man that does evil things because the plot needed a simple villain in a simple story between good and evil. The entirety of Cobra Kai is a continuation AND a retcon of the first and second Karate Kid movies and a regular continuation of the third movie. We learned through an insert of flashbacks about Johnny and Kreese that retconned their character interpretations from the movies to the audience into the series.

    17:56 is my favorite moment of season 3 and my favorite moment between Kreese and Tory. Straight Up Palpatine levels of manipulation and i totally respect it.
    He knows Tory has the Talent,the Drive,and absolutely No Mercy. And i love how he didnt bring her back into the fold through Fear and Intimidation, but he came to her the same way he brought Johnny into the fold which was by coming to them in their moments of Vulnerability and weakness and building them back up and in this case in was so that she could pay rent and take care of her family.
    And i love the similarity between Daniel/Johnny/Kreese/Robbie/Miguel/Tory when it comes to having no father but also having a relationship with their mother that they still care about.

    You could argue that Tori needed Kreese in this moment. She wouldn't have got the same results if Dan was her sensei. Sure Daniel could have paid her bills but what's he going to do pay for everyones problems? Tori needed this in a sad but real way. Shes young, pretty, and short. She needed to learn this lesson from John because it's power that she will have moving forward in her shitty life. The really real world is tough and Tori learning this lesson is going to help her be less of a victim to scumbags like the landlord.

      Johnny would most likely beat the guy up and threatened more harm if he touched Tori. Daniel or even Amanda would approach it legally; they might buy the place or threatened legal consequences towards him or move Tori and her family to another building. They are financially capable of doing that and probably would find some kind of disability claim for the mom’s bills such as Social security disability which provides you a check if you can’t work for a year.

    Nature vs. Nurture: Are we who we are because of what we are born with, or because of our environment, experiences, teachings and things that happen to us during our lives?
    Nature: Kreese's mother had some type of mental condition, which often is passed down genetically to children. Depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorders are mostly inherited.
    Nurture: Kreese said he was fighting most of his life, so it is implied he had suffered numerous concussions, which often lead to aggressive and violent behavior. Also, we will find out later how his traumatic experiences in war affected and molded his thought processes. Many veterans in Vietnam came back emotionally damaged as a result of what happened there. Also, we will also find out later that the things he learned from Tang Soo Do teachings (based on deception) as Chozen indicated last episode, shaped Kreese's psyche.

    Nature vs. Nurture.
    Did Kreese turn out the way he did because of nature (his mother had a mental disease and often that is passed down genetically to children)? Or did Kreese turn out that way because of nurture (things that we experience, things we learn or are taught, and how circumstances affect our personality). Kreese also mentioned that he was fighting his whole life, so it's reasonable to assume he had suffered multiple concussions, which could lead to aggressive and violent behavior. Of course, we later will see more of what Kreese went through in life that shaped his persona.

    My only wish would be to have someone uninvolved of all this, just look at Kreese and say "The Devil?" Dude just emanates evil energy.

      One time at college. Someone brought in their pet snake and I was just scared. But nothing bad happened and then later the person got told off. When that was the end.

    Make no mistake... you HAVE TO throw others under the bus if you want to get ahead. It's the Law of Equivalent Exchange - if you're getting something good, then someone else isn't. This is an immutable truth in a Capitalist economy.
    I've trained 5 new employees at my work in the last 2 months, and just recently found out that I get paid almost the same as them - while I have 15 years experience. And there are more I'm still training...
    I straight out told my boss I'm done training new people to do what I do unless I get a massive raise for my effort and experience - and I told our current new hires I'm not helping them to replace me anymore until I get paid what I'm worth. That's not fair to them, but I have to look after my own interests first.

      I mean, you can also act in solidarity with the people around you, against those more powerful than you. You get the power, no one gets thrown under the bus. Even in your own example, you didn't throw anyone under the bus.
