fun fact, the creator of this show in interviews has admitted that while trying to get this show greenlit, he already had the first 3 seasons mapped out.
The school scene was a practice "SAT" test which usually happens on a Saturday. The real SAT tests happens on a weekend as well in some schools in the US.
For the motorcycle scene... Louie never gave him an actual address, just the general neighborhood/area.
He probably had to troll multiple streets till he found the driveway with like five different cars with LaRusso auto plates.

In the previous episode, Louie told Johhny the neighborhood and street where Daniel lived but not the house. So it is assumed that Johnny spent most of the night looking for Daniels house. That's why he arrives there in the early morning.

This show is one of my favorites ever it’s soooo good. They manage to make a soap opera format actually prefect writing.

Miguel messed up but I understand him he's already insecure about his girlfriend not wanting him to meet her family he's been drinking and then she shows up holding hands with another guy pretty sure anyone would've lost their cool there plus they're in High School so yeah
Miguel didn’t have a male role model growing up. I’m not justifying his actions, but he believes that his Sensei knows better about everything and that’s not the case.
As for Sam, she didn’t wanna believe what her father says about Cobra Kai but Johnny’s convictions got too well into Miguel’s head and that led her to believe that her father was right about them.
Also it’s the same guy who was having dinner with them the nighjt before.

This episode actually illustrated a mistake that a lot of Gen X parents made. When they grew up and got grounded, if someone called the house, a parent could tell their friends they were grounded. But now, there's no house phone, so the friends think they've been ghosted. It's been suggested that when grounding a teen, parents should give them about 15-20 min of phone time a day so they can tell their friends what's going on.

Neither Miguel nor Robby had a positive father's influence in their lives. Same with Daniel and Johnny. Often, children without a good father role model grow up with personal problems and have issues with immaturity. That is why there is so much drama and dysfunction with those characters. Later, you will see more, new characters with even more dysfunctions as a result of not having a father at home.

1:28 Very likely Johnny was riding around debating whether or not to confront Daniel. He obviously didn't go directly after the fight with Louie and his goons. Johnny had been to jail recently for beating up Kyler and his gang, and so he probably did not want to violate his probation. But his anger apparently got the better of him and he finally went to Daniel's house.
Breakfast is literally "breaking a fast." You can have breakfast at any time. A lot of people on Saturdays sleep in late, especially if they go out on Friday night. So, the Larussos probably did not eat yet after having woken up late. You could still order breakfast at McDonald's in the afternoon prior to the pandemic. I think today they stopped that, but back when Cobra Kai started, McDonald's was serving breakfast all day.
Based off your guys’ reactions I have no doubt y’all will love the other seasons, not one season nor episode of each season was disappointing
3:50 no salt in your house??? Wow! The PSAT'S were optional when I was in school but they were on Saturdays for those that chose to do them. I don't test well, but had a high GPA so it didn't matter how many practice tests I took.

What I love about this episode, and the whole season really, is how much you understand everyone's perspectives, particularly among the teens.
I totally get Sam's perspective: She's dating this guy she really likes, but she's terrified her parents won't approve because he's Cobra Kai so she hides him. Her Dad's student (They're not even friends at this point) helps her out, so she rewards him by bringing him along to a party where her boyfriend is A: Wasted and B: Pissed off.
I totally get Miguel's perspective: He's dating this girl he really likes and wants to take the next step in their relationship and meet her parents. It's not happening, he's got Johnny's story in his head *and* Hawk's in his ear talking all kinds of nonsense. He then sees her with another dude, and then her and that same dude show up to the party, after she's been seemingly blowing him off all day. On top of that, he's drunk.
And I totally get Robby's perspective: He's attracted to Sam, really likes Daniel and doesn't wanna jeapordize that so he hides his parentage and helps out Sam. He's obviously displeased she's got a boyfriend and makes a couple of jabs, but largely keeps it cool.. then finds out that boyfriend is the *same kid* his Dad has been fawning over instead of him.
Little do they know my boi Dimitri planted a seed 😅 !!!

As somebody restricted to 1800mg a day of sodium (less than a teaspoon of salt) due to a life changing diagnosis, I can confirm, if you don't salt your food it is basically flavorless... That is my life now

I feel season 2 was the least of all the seasons. It still was great, with 2 very important characters being introduced that season, but for me, season 2 was a lot of setting up for what would happen later. To me, seasons 3, 4 and 5 really take off (after what happens in season 2 finale!) and hits its stride.

That you initially start off tuning in to the show to catch up on the lives of Daniel Larruso & Johnny Lawrence, but then you continue to stay because of the kids. This awesome journey you guys are on has just only begun. Sit back and enjoy the ride because each season just continues to supercede the last one. Enjoy...😊

Yeah so Episode 9 in each season is where the drama hits the fan, you think Johnny and Daniel are gonna finally bury the hatchet - thanks mostly in part of Amanda being the only person on this show who's a sane human being - then bam! The Robby stuff comes back to haunt father and son. And Miguel also ends up walking his sensei's path relationship-wise, thanks to lack of communication, some poorly-timed karma and good ol' fashioned underage drinking, he was very in the wrong but to be fair Robby is no saint in the matter his 'chivalry' has a lot of underlying motives.
Most recent I heard is that Sony pictures plans doing another reboot of karate kid (smell money) since there's a renewed interest in Karate Kid because of Cobra Kai. Plus there's also a planned miyagi spinoff show.

This is kind of spoilers, but the Normies are a few episodes ahead now, so I guess it wouldn't spoil anything for them. But wow, this is my first time rewatching this series, and after all this time, I had forgotten that Sam And Miguel's relationship lasted all of 5 minutes before it imploded disastrously. I know the showrunners have to keep the drama flowing, but you would think they could have let them have a real relationship and be happy for a while. Even by high school relationship standards, that was just... nothing.
I agree Especially when you get to the later seasons it feels like they had more history than 5 minutes.
Teenager relationships tend to not last very long. Not really that unrealistic.
This show movies extremely fast. It has to because the "kids" are maturing quickly. After 5 seasons now, you look back and see how different the kids look. The writers can't afford to take their time, so there are time jumps and we just don't see a lot of the time in between major events. You'll continue to see seismic shifts in story and character as the seasons go on, and it seems so jarring because it moves so fast, but there is a lot we don't see on screen.
It is a timing mistake to say it was only "5 minutes" just because it was only a few episodes. You know it is kind of serious when it is a major plot point that the teenage guy actually wants to meet the parents. The story has been taking place over months and at least a school semester so far.

Season 1 is my favorite, had the best storylines and balance between the adult characters and the kids characters. Other seasons focused too much on (no spoilers) the parts of the show I was least interested in.
the show's not thatt deep, BUT YOU CANT HEP BUT GET SO INVESTED!
Some of it is pretty deep with some great life lessons which I wish I had learned when I was a kid. Stuff like leaving the past behind, being a better person, finding balance, taking the initiative (strike first), doing your best (strike hard, go all in), being your own person instead of what others expect of you, not seeking revenge, and doing what is right not in order to be rewarded but because it is the right thing to do.

Sam Lied and hid her relationship with Miguel; she doesn’t know that Miguel saw Robby at her house which she lied about so seeing Robby fueled his anger. It’s not just that they were holding hands but Sam not allowing him to meet her parents while a guy he doesn’t know was there and is there with her now
Sam said that she was at a family dinner, which is a true general statement since it'd be weird for her to name all the people there especially those that Miguel doesn't even know. But I think the most critical aspect, aside from the alcohol, is Johnny warning Miguel about the LaRussos.
Sam DIDN'T LIE, they went on ONE DATE, you little boys need to grow up and realize that ONE DATE doesn't equate owning someone. Incelamio.

At a family dinner means it’s for family only, Miguel wanted to meet her parents and she didn’t invite him which is why it would be seen as only family. They’ve been dating for a bit yet she wouldn’t introduce him to her parents while Miguel seeing another guy there.
Didn’t lie? So Daniel knew she was dating Miguel at that time? No. Sam didn’t tell her parents and didn’t allow Miguel to meet her parents. She said she was having a family dinner yet a non-family member was there so to Miguel who saw that; she lied to him which is why he left feeling hurt.
