- I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! No Man's Sky ORBITAL, the 4.6 update to the game, is officially live and it features some of my designs! Ahhhh! I'm over the moon! Join me as I react to the update trailer and full patch notes for the first time! I cover all of the major features and additions including the new space stations, space station interiors, shipbuilding and salvage, new guild system, fleet expeditions, and so much more! Hahaha I've graduated to long distance relationship. 😉 And thanks! I'm sure someone at HG's seen my mission generator at some point. I try not to get too pushy with ideas. HG get thousands of ideas from fans all the time. This feels like NMS is finally reaching its ultimate form. I almost feel bad I cannot pay Hello Game for all these updates!

The only two things this game needs to really feel “complete” now are more diverse planet generation, and an awesome conclusion to the story that ties up all the loose ends. I don’t know if variety will happen, but the story is probably gonna be the next update.

HG definitely know their craft and that's why they keep surprising us after all these years - but I think you have the ability to articulate the player/outsider perspective very well. Your "10 Ways to "FIX" Planetary Exploration" and "25 Issues + Ideas" videos" are a great example of this. Almost everything you propose would need less work than a full blown update and yet, would make the game orders of magnitude better ✨

Also something I’ve noticed is that there’s a display in one of the screenshots on the new interiors with a “mannequin” holding a multitool and I find that interesting as that’s the second time they’ve given an entity outside of players a multitool, makes me wonder what Sean has in store for

20:34 I specifically asked HG for exactly that QoL feature and I'm overjoyed that they implemented it! I realize I'm in the minority here but I seriously couldn't tell at all where the icons were when they popped up so I'd just sit there carefully scanning the edges of my screen until I saw them, it got frustrating over time.
The economy scanner trading, standing discounts and frigate missions also received depth that's unfortunately not being talked about. I love the new additions, especially the frigate missions since they're no longer passive income but something you have an active role in.
Also congrats on having your own artwork in the game! It's incredible how well it puts with the game's current artstyle!
It's a really great little improvement. And yeah. There are a ton of great overlooked features here. It reminds me a lot of a summer update with how many areas they improved. I'll have to cover those features after next week! And thanks! Couldn't have gotten my work in the game without my community's support! So double thanks!

it did not kill ship hunting, You can still hunt for your ships and sit in a space station and reload 500 times

Congrats man, damn exciting. I was expecting space stations, but never thought we would have ships customization in NMS, like ever. Finally my junkyard has a purpose other than selling illegal goods under the counter, I could even be a legit spaceship mechanic one day.

no mans sky seems like it in its final stages of game life with many things starting to be polished and becoming more mentally ergonomic. from little things such as the starship launch sequence that pops up on you starship screen and expeditions getting a spot in the anomaly and now the space stations.

This update is sensational! I'm just hoping to see if in the future it will be possible to customize shuttles, because it's my favorite type. It's in the trailer but not available in the game. Let's see what happens! hehehe

Am tempted to start a new save to see how reputation builds from scratch and its impact. Id definately be making different ship decisions too.
I thoroughly enjoyed using 92 salvage to unlock new "base decorations"; however, it was even more entertaining to see the UI bug out on me in that menu as the items were too wide to sit on my tiny 1080p screen.
You noticed that in the trailer they have two more colours, a darker grey and a black. Hopefully they add that back later.

I can’t wait to see this update once Hello Games meets the quality standards for Microsoft Xbox. If it’s delayed by Microsoft, you know that there has to be some glitches/bugs needing to be worked on to at least make it give a great user experience.
I kid you not I just started playing again yesterday. I went in a hiatus because my 200hr save got messed up where I load all the way back at the beginning. Any idea why?

It's a bit glitchy right now on PlayStation. All of the stations are flash bang white, the interaction buttons are showing the placeholders instead of the display name, but other than that everything functions as a baseline. And sadly it looks like we can't build shuttles.
This update is amazing, but there's a glitch where my discount for Vy'keen is 105%, meaning on top of my purchase, they owe me nanites after, however, I can't buy them because of it, it says I don't have nanites, even though I have over a hundred thousand
I just would love to be able to use the text chat on console.. but this update is fab

I was in call with a friend when I realized it had dropped and safe to say the noises of excitement I made were questionable at the least
I saw the gek art and was immediately like "wait a hot minute, I recognize those! That's Kanaju's art!!!"

Orbital is a good foundation but HG in my opinion missed some great land marks! It is all like half baked but i hope they will build on that. I mean it is a free update so i don't complain! THX!
I'm actually really bummed out that sentinel ships aren't going to be available to customize. Hopefully it doesn't take long for them to get those and the other types of ships for customization.
same with solar sailors... my favorite ship type
@@TabalugaDragon Solar, exotics,sentinels and living ships aren't customizable atm. Hopefully they don't take months to get them to be though
@@brandonenke2680 To be fair I don't think living ships will be customizable this way due to their organic structure.

@@brandonenke2680 arguable, as their spewing vents have the highest damage per second in the game, especially supercharged.
Their laser eye is also more powerful than standard ship beam.
The new space stations are nice, but I wish they kept the old ones as well.
You can still get the old design from the pirate and abandoned stations

Now there is only one Thing i want in the Game left: the Birds Always Look so Bad, they are only Brown and green, there is Not a Lot of Them in different colors. If they can make the Birds more interesting im gonna be so thankful, it bothers me a little that there is Always These mud Brown and Moss Green Birds on my cool vibrant planets
Spoiler alert - the new space stations are more of the same: same space station in shape, just re-painted. They also removed those rooms in the back completely.
I mean I like that it isn't *just* teal color now, but I wish they were different in shape too, with more rooms to explore.
At least they’re cooler so I’m not complaining
