-----get ready to read a lot of text------ i did a lot of things different, and beat it faster 1. i maxed havoc (anti air missile) and got it to epic rarity rank 7 2. rank 10 decent punisher 3. full maxed raptors, along with guardian command and hydra 4. maxed cleaver, rank 6 epic to break the shield ( 1500 damage per mag, 5 second reload shotgun) 5. no photon flare or ranger 6. no aircraft 7. 840 hp aegis (not worth 20% increase for 3 prime gems) 8. maxed prime weapon hp (incase that laser thing it it) 9. didnt even touch the laser prime weapon 10. no talos, because the missiles always miss things NOT to do: don't buy sentinels, they are underwhelming (for now) don't get striker, the dps is terrible don't gamble in the forge too much don't turn off the music, its epic things to do if u couldn't to beat it at day 50: get max SAM turrets get max obliterators max out hp of all structures, including the prime cannon have a moderate energy reserve (500-2000) save 3-15 of all types of power cores (except massive power core, only need 2) tips: use time warp constantly, and always have your secondary and primary weapon firing use havoc for anything that is not armor focus all prime weapon damage on the overlord max volume on the music, its epic (have minimal sound as well) change your secondary weapon fire to right click, and have your zoom on another key no tldr :)
In 1.2 I don’t think it’s feasible without rebuilding shields, but maybe with some luck on the targeting of the boss (laser attack) you might be able to pull it off. Most of the damage is actually sustained from the enemy fodder from my experience so if you can find some way to reduce that it might work as well. In this case taking down the shields of the boss asap was key in doing just that. If I recall correctly, during my test runs I was more or less able to keep up with the laser attack in the final boss phase with the shield recharge cooldown, meaning that my shields were never completely down whenever the laser was fired. This is of course assuming that you take negligible damage from other attacks. Note that there was a new update which I haven’t yet checked out, so again, there may be another possible strategy out there. Hope this helps!
@@wolfynator9473 thanks for the tips! you are probably right on 1.2, it's not likely without rebuild shield, but on 1.3 a lot of new stuffs added in, even I can get 50 day win on hard mode without rebuild shield, and it's not even that close. I believe it's very possible on brutal and wont be very hard. You should definitely try the new 1.3, many cool stuffs
probably too late of a reply but anyways.. interceptors with maxed armour and damage, with a little bit of cryo shots sprinkled in will make a huge difference in preventing those air units from targeting your precious sandcastle.
I just keep coming back to this every time i remember about this game, the fight is just too epic and I'm gonna show this to my friends someday.

In 1.2 I don’t think it’s feasible without rebuilding shields, but maybe with some luck on the targeting of the boss (laser attack) you might be able to pull it off. that doesn't look to be brutal, the amount of air units is way too low
