We have been at Antique centres all over the Lakes - mostly West Cumbria and Antique fairs around Ambleside and Grasmere, now in Woodend Vintage centre. Glad another auction is starting up in our area with decent commissions. Will keep watching. Auctions are good places for dealers to network as they do at 1818 and Mitchells up here - now another to meet up on viewing days, etc.
It makes sense I’ve had quality items that may make £10-15 and is not worth putting in an auction if you are paying £5 lotting fee. I don’t bother going to our local auction near M6 as they have stopped taking cash and everything online, so expensive and when you go to collect stuff it’s so clinical. Hope it’s a great success and he gives the rip off auctions a run for their money 😊

I for one am just as glad of no tobacco smoke - no staining of the merch, and those of us who are allergic to tobacco smoke can breathe without needing to barf. (improves the tone of the place no end if the punters aren't upchucking in the ladies') A 10% premium and free coffees - when is Vince opening up on this side of the Atlantic!

In my younger life. the Auctions I went to only charge seller commission. So buyers would pay higher prices.
About time, we had some competition to bring the costs down for both seller and buyer, as the auction houses around here are ripping us off!
Even worse online. 35% commission and fees plus 5%online charge. Milk us dry
