The other games were my tank picking orissa and being the meme of I am invincible. If my tank is good, I get fuck by dps inability to hit sleepping ball. Or turrets. As a former bronze support player who took a very very long time to climb out of bronze... this Orisa is bringing me back some trauma. There's nothing worse than a tank who plays as passive as this. The whole game just feels so hopeless. You kinda just sit there forever and wait to die. It was much more fun to play with the suicide reins who charged across the map nonstop.

      Yeah. As a support main. I just tell people that I rather have a suicidal tank that goes in hard than a bitch who broke their W key. A tank that doesn't move forward is literally worthless. Its the biggest difference imo between playing tank vs playing most other roles. As a support unless you are moira you shouldn't really be up in people's face (and even that is oftentimes a situational thing). Brig is more anti dive so you are roughly balancing between waiting for the enemy to come towards you vs actually walking forward. Tank's have one primary function. Make space and take strong positions. If they sit back passive like this you literally make that job fucking easy as shit for the enemy tank and this whole game of (we are stuck in the choke for forever) happens.

    • @joleenquack
      @joleenquack Год назад +32

      There's many a time I've had to mute myself or leave comms completely so I didn't rage at a tank not pushing in at all, its kinda ridiculous.
      I used to put mercy damage boost to try and prompt them to go in (when I could), but I just gave up on that. Started going Brig, and acting as a mini tank, just to get something done. Ideal? Absolutely not. But, no one else was doing anything.

    • @ccricers
      @ccricers Год назад +21

      I'm a support main and I can deal more easily with a tank who is too aggressive than one that's too timid to make a push. If you're going to main tank, having balls is a requirement, moreso than playing other roles. You can't get away with just standing back and poking as you could if you're a DPS or support.

      @@katbiremanlive hi :) Just saw you in the comments and thought I would leave you some tips to help you improve :) Comming from a silver 3 former orisa main (so not that great but I managed to climb out of bronze)
      1. One of my most important tips. Don't be as afraid to hold W as Flats said. It's your job as a tank. You're the best equipped for this job beacause you have the most health and won't melt like DPSes or supports. Just remember to back out if you're like half hp and all your skills are on cooldown. Also remember that if you're out of line of sight of a support, they can't heal you. As a support player I can tell you that there's almost nothing worse than a) tank who is too afraid to go in (it's your job as a tank, just go in lol), b) a tank who charges in 1v5 even tho they could have waited 5 seconds for the rest of the team.
      2. Try to focus your fire on one specific target (preferably not the tank). Supports are a great target because they keep the team alive more than anyone usually. Eliminating even one support can help sway the teamfight in your favor. A spear hit is a great way to easily kill a support because it deals quite a bit of damage to them and it locks their movement so you don't have to aim that much. Spear spin also damages and pushes back the target so you can isolate a player with it, then hit a spear and a few shots and they should be dead.
      3. Don't shoot the shield if you have better targets (especially not with your spear - it's too valuable). Just either go past it or around it but remember that most supports can't heal you through walls.
      4. Cycle your cooldowns better. Don't press every button at once. Fortify, then wait until you need the ability to not drop to critical health, then use spear spin for example.
      5. Remember to protect your teammates. Your spear spin can shut down most of the soldier ult for example. Shoot the junk tire if you can lol. Remember that some characters don't have enough dps to destroy it by themselves and a tire takes out a squishy. If it takes out even one player on your team, then the teamfight becomes much harder.
      6. Try to be more aware. I know it's hard lol. If someone is flanking your team, focus on them. Unless they know what they are doing, they are a super easy target because they are usually out of LOS (line of sight) of their supports and can't get heals. If a Moira flanks you - deny them their balls. If they release a healing ball, pressure them away from where it's going so they get the least amount of heals possible from it. If they release the damage ball, don't walk the way it's going.
      7. Try to improve your aim. Again, I know it's hard lol. 10-60 minutes of VAXTA, few days a week helped me. It's still not great, but I jumped from 25 to about 40% accuracy on my mains in a week. Practice your spear there because there's no cooldowns. If you want to use a workshop code (like VAXTA) go to custom games and import code, then start a custom game.
      8. Maybe watch some tutorials on youtube or coaching VODs. I can safely recommend Spilo and Spilo 2 channels.
      9. Last but imo the most important: don't flame your teammates. I don't know what you were typing (if anything) but remember that there's people just like you on the other side of the screen. If it's a comp game, 99% of the players are trying their best even if it doesn't look like it. Even if you type something like "pls heal more", it can really annoy the other teammates. It seems polite but you don't know their point of view. Maybe they are healing you with everything they have and can't outheal the incomming damage. On the other hand, if your supports saved you in a bad situation or a DPS popped off, tell them that you love them or that they did great or whatever. It can really make their day, trust me. I still remember my match from a week ago when me and Mercy clutched a 2v4 and the Mercy typed "love you Moira" (just as I was typing the same lol). It feels waaay better than just getting an endorsement or 3.
      I hope that I didn't forget anything and I hope that this all helps you :) Good luck climbing! :) And remember - please be nice to other people in chat. Seriously.

    Edit: Btw my messages are never mean spirited towards my teammates, and I also actually don’t play orisa anymore and am having a lot more fun lol. Just the two things I found important. I usually don’t talk with my mic, so I usually say reset, keep pushing or complement the enemy on their kill. Other than that I absolutely loved it and will take some of these criticisms to heart

    Saw a Moira post that said he played since season 1 and is still in bronze and his friend just started and already passed him out the gate for both tank and support season 3 and that it didn't make sense. His whole replay was him hiding behind the enemy team for a minute and then trying to suck the full health tank... Bro how can these people exist?
    Two replays actually, and both times he legitimately tried to 1v1 the full health tank as Moira

    • @Peacht4n
      @Peacht4n Год назад

      Thats just a big majority of low rank Moira players. They think theyre actually doing something for the team because they see their damage and elims and think they're helping, but they're not. Now that there is only 1 tank on the team the damage gets shared around even more between party members meaning that burst healing is even more important. Having a support who isn't healing hurts the entire team. But they just want to keep believing they're doing something and deserve a higher rank.

    • @x0gucx
      @x0gucx Год назад

      @@Peacht4n
      It's like they only look at the numbers and pay no attention to the looming health bar above them that isn't budging. He also kept pausing in the replay so I'm guessing he was talking smack cause the person with the most time on their hands to type mid match ain't doing jack 😂
