Yeah, an important thing to know is that ults aren't simply to try to get POTG. With 5v5, the value of a single kill is higher (especially if it's on a support). 2 kills from an ult is absolutely valuable. There is no need to hold onto ults like this. Use them as often as possible so you start building the next one. Also yeah health packs are your friend especially on Genji.
I had an enemy Mercy "bruh me" because I solo scatter her trying revive her dead Orisa tank behind my team, lol. I reply, "worth it". In my mind, my abilities were all on cooldown, and there's no way I could kill her solo with melee in time when he or she is at full health and already in the middle or casting her rez. If she succeeded, Orisa would koll me with mercy pocket, following by them killing my teammates from behind. my teammates were busy pushing the car to enemy spawn with man advantage, so we won the Hollywood map, lol.
That moira reminds me of a tank that was complaining about not getting heals and saying support sucks”I was support btw” he was literally 1v4 the enemy team, while the enemy zarya was busy spawnkilling me as mercy twice btw… Then he literally avoided me as i tried to get to him to heal him, but he just kept rolling as ball and completely ignored me, then when he switched to zarya he was sniffing the enemy spawn… and got rolled, then we won and he said he carried the game and the support was bad at the end.
I had a pharah throw and talk shit saying idk how to play mercy, but I had most of the heals on our team, kept everyone alive and she got mad and calls me trash just because they rushed with their missile barrage on the whole team and I didn't feel like dying with her so she died, tries telling me to pocket her, and then still wants to talk shit while trying to get a pocket, after they were told multiple times I hate doing pharamercy I healed and rez'd them, damage boosted everyone and we won without that pharah where she just stood there while we did like 2 different team fights in that time
Right? I almost wondered if that Genji didn't know he had a left click. Like sure, he might not be comfortable with hitting moving enemies, which is fair. But seeing him stand still and right clicking a Torb turret raises question marks
Thanks for the tips and advise, I will definitely work on my positioning. Also the reason I held my blade is because I'm really bad with it. Thank you for reviewing my game.
Just go for it man! Using it and getting no value, and not using it at all are equal then. But the upside of using the blade is much higher than holding onto it the whole round. Not to mention, the only way you’ll get good at it is if you practice in actual games.
the map code dmgre is great to practice blade, get really comfortable with the mechanics, get a good grasp on the timing of swing dash, swing deflect and the animation cancel of shurikens, melee, ult when you use it. Get comfortable dashing through the enemies, doing an instant 180 (not sure if possible on controller, but as fast as possible) and slashing. Also the dmg breakpoints with and without nano are important, you should know when an enemy has low enough health to die to swing dash without nano for example. Blade alone is usually good for 1 kill if you use it well, not as a way to initiate, but to follow up. Nanoblade can be an initiate combo, but you'll have more success if the tank is in too. This is just a few tips on how i got to pretty mediocre mechanics as a pc high plat/low diamond genji one trick
Tbh you don’t deserve Bronze - you just need to do the things emongg said. AND (from a fellow console player) I would add: up your horizontal/vertical sensitivity a little bit. Like if you have both at 50ish (my guess from watching you turn) I’d say put it up to 75 each. It’ll feel weird for a couple of hours but your hands should adjust! You did great! Sux ur Lucio was throwin tho, legit ruined the game
The fact that people like this moira exist is so frustrating even with them throwing their team still managed to get so far and it amazes me that they tried to blame it on genji.
Tbh the genji was mostly at fault though, the first round he could have had at least 2 blades perhaps 3 but he didn't use it once the entire first round. That is probably why the moira started throwing in the first place. I am not excusing the moira from doing it of course, just saying the genji was throwing for holding ult for so long before the moira started throwing. He also was playing badly, his mechanics seem semi-decent for a bronze player but his positioning + game sense needs some serious work. In higher ranks he would have gotten destroyed all game. Because he is playing in bronze he basically got away with murder most of the time. He is half right to sit on blade and wait for nano, but in solo queue you cannot always count on your Ana to actually have a brain and combo nano blade. I don't play genji but if I did I would check when ana will have ult and if she is like 80% I would hold blade and wait for nano. If like 60% I wouldn't bother to wait, even if you just get 1 kill with blade that is sometimes enough to win a team fight. As a general rule of thumb I would say if the ana has nano, use the ultimate voice line to try and let the Ana know I am going to blade. Dash into the air to make it obvious I am going to blade (most good Ana players will see the Genji dash in the air and know they will blade, so they will use nano there), and then if I get no nano just commit to killing 1 or 2 of their squishies and then get out. The Ana can always nano the tank after, 5 vs 4\3 a nano'd tank will almost always clean up and though 2 ultimates were used you get a significant amount of stagger on their team because the kills were not synchronized and this really hurts their next push since you are forcing them to play aggressive against the clock and limiting their ability to be passive\back off.

2:54 “is it on console? Might be..”
my guy the bottom line of the submission said he was an Xbox player
insert dude was holding blade for ow3 joke
I like the random name given by the streamer mode. This player is "de-h8man"ized by the streamer mode.
Love you Emongg ❤
If he has to flame the guy, then fine, but why throw the team under? The 1st round went well enough.
I am convinced people with no hands can play genji better then this
But his team ☠️☠️☠️
1st round blade COULD have been huge so many times
I'm a diamond-masters player and I didn't know there was a health pack at 4:45 LOL
Perfect gengu gameplay, no notes.
This Genji needs help.
I thought they were waiting for Overwatch 3 for the Blade
Its good to know all this bc before i started overwatch i wanted to be main genji, but im not a good genji
Is it customary to use nanao on genjis?? I usualy just nano the tank or a mercy..
nah, if the genji is trash, then it's just a waste
i wonder if this guy flames the healers if they dont go ana, just a thought
What servers are these? Because I’m in bronze too and the lobby’s are nothing like this
If you need Nano Boost to be effective, then you don't deserve Nano Boost
Been about 80 blade times b4 it was actually blade time
He had 1 blade the entire match....😅
why does this lucio feel like redshell smurfing in bronze kekw
Using deflect first off when nothing is happening is bronze move fr. It should be used more for defensive positioning
Him holding his deflect for its fill duration when no one is shooting frustrates me I saw plenty of times he could have gotten a pick if he didn't hold the deflect
this guy really does not know the combo
