That was a real eye opener, I had always assumed that Thrust 2 was a well funded project rather than the shoe string, beg, steal and borrow with a bit of happy coincidence effort it initially was; which makes the success of the project even more inspiring.
Thank you for telling the real story of this great endeavour, really enjoyed your video.

I am glad to be an adult and to be able to hear the story . It's amazing that the cars that broke the speed even happened at all any of them if it wasn't for the preserveance of these few men throughout history we wouldn't have cars that travel at the speed they do now. Thank you , two all of the " slide rule and pocket protector people "that still survive.👏👏👏

I was fortunate enough to sit in Thrust 2 before it had any sponsors and when it was angular and covered in rivets. My father was involved with the organising of a RAF Air Display and Thrust 2 was sat right outside my Dad's hanger. Before the day of the Air display I was allowed to sit in Thrust 2. I was about 11 at the time. Something I will never forget.

Firstly, Richard Noble is a really good chap.
Secondly, as you like doing videos on land speed records and the story behind them, have you ever thought about the radio controlled land speed records? It around 220mph at the moment for a wheel driven car.
There's cars with 100hp, jet turbine engines and lots of crazy things. It's like the full sized records but the human isn't in the car. 🙂👍

ThrustSSC took the record supersonic in 1997. Since then, North American Eagle ended tragically with the death of Jessie Combs. In the UK Bloodhound eventually ran at over 600 mph, but is now up for sale for a second time. In Australia, Rosco McGlashan has built a rocket car (Aussie Invader 5R) capable of 1000mph, and is currently seeking sponsors to enable him to make a record attempt.
