Josh Hartnett was excellent at portraying both a charismatic family man and a frightening, unhinged, tragic figure. Sad how he hasn't really gotten many major lead roles since the 2000s, he's very much still got it. He'll be in Oppenheimer this year too so hopefully a career resurgence is on the way.
To me he wasnt really frightening or unhinged until the murders, felt awful for him most of the show until he danced/touched Cliffs wife.
I think he has been in retirement, willingly.
He might be Harvey Dent in the Batman 2 so he’ll get plenty of limelight if he does that
He's been purposely out of the spotlight because the fame was too much for him at the time. But now that he's an older man with a better understanding of the business, he can really flourish.
He’s beautiful ❤
Goodness!! Josh still got it! So handsome.
Sexiest man alive❤
I'm so glad to see Josh back in front of the camera. I think he's an amazing actor and presence. Also, the episode was incredible. What a powerful ending. My mouth was a gapped as the credits rolled.
I'm just glad Josh Hartnett is still alive
He deserves a nomination for this role. I thought it was the best acting ive seen in years.
Great acting Aaron Paul was awesome as well
As I was watching I thought he was going to hijack his body, but it was so, so much worse. Brilliant, I was captivated the whole time.
I thought the same thing
I'd like to say a shallow thanks for the lovely footage of Josh working out 😅
How is it possible that Josh Hartnett is more beautiful with age. My god. I see why Nolan wanted him to be Batman. He gave me Bruce Wayne vibes in this episode
Put your tongue away. The thirst is real, damn
@@helicoptergunship It’s sad you have shame/try to shame people to feel good about yourself.
@@rachreid8746 its sad how thirsty you are. Stop objectifying men.
He would have been an excellent Wayne in Nolan films. Bale is great, but different than how Hartnett would have been. Bale plays Wayne very cold. Hartnett would have made him a bit more sympathetic. Neither is better than the other, just a bit different.
Josh is a favorite actor of mine. So glad to see him back & on Netflix! I almost cancelled my subscription but by chance watched Black Mirror (for the first time) & found myself riveted. Now I'm looking forward to catching up on all the seasons.🤓🍿
Enjoy!
@@glkification Thanks!
I love that they are around 1 hour. Straight to the point, leaving a lot up to the imagination. This was my favorite episode of the new season by far.
I believe this is the best episode of the whole season
Josh Hartnett has morphed into Eddie Vedder and I'm 100 percent more attracted to him now.
Josh aged like fine wine. I love the little weight on him.
I recently read he put on weight for his Oppenheimer role.
A fantastic haunting episode. Thank you.
Damn Josh Hartnett is so effing handsome!!!😍
But we have to give credit to the other co actor Aaron and Lana which was wonderful as well as Josh
Crazy how we already have a big onstage panel discussion barely a day after the episode dropped.
Everyone did fantastic, they nailed the sets, the costumes all of it.. so good.
Now you know why NASA spends millions & millions on research on how to keep astronauts sane on long trips! 🤯🤯🤯🤯
I just watched, super disturbing. Awesome.
I love Josh so much, since day one and until forever and a day❤❤❤❤
Calling it now, and HOPING HE SAYS YES IF THEY OFFER IT TO HIM… again lol 😅😂, Josh Hartnett for the new James Gunn DC Batman!!!
I really enjoyed this interview, and gaining insight into Charlie's process, what an incredible mind.
Josh is aging well❤❤❤
I truly thought that it was revenge that was on his mind when considering taking over the replica
I hated the ending because it truly didnt seem like something the character would do at all. It didnt make sense to me and it seemed like they just didnt know how to end the episode. The rest of the ep was so good aside from the ending! Josh Hartnett is a gem and I hope he continues getting projects!
Nothing I want more than a Doug Stanhope Black Mirror episode. Charlie and Doug have that chemistry, absurdity, humor, and darkness together that could really make something special.
Like, it could be next level.
I’m so happy that I see Josh back on screen
That was a stupid question to ask Josh, when he said had you heard of Black Mirror-that would be like someone asking me if I had heard of Miami Vice lol
I never saw the appeal of Josh Hartnett in the past but oh my he's aging really well the guy turned into a whole smoke show
The one thing that to me that was a kind of flaw in the plot concept was choosing to have the avatar-androids be the ones on the earth why the real humans were on the space station rather than the other way around. Unless there was a detail that I missed earlier in the episode but if the androids being operated are just as complex and physically articulated as a human being then it would just make way more sense to have them working on the space station.
@K.C-2049 Like I said, if there was just a little explanation as to the nature of the mission and why it was important it required humans then I could have embraced that concept a little more but it just felt unnecessary for them to be there physically when the robot avatars are literally indistinguishable from human beings and logically they are even more efficient as they don’t require medical attention if they are hurt. Interstellar gave an elegant reason as to why humans were vital to the mission instead of just sending robots I just wish they did the same here but that’s because I’m a sci fi nerd that likes that sort of technical detail.
That cardigan is boss
It was good, but I missed why the replica was at home and not on the space ship. Did they give a reason?
Replicas don't do physicals. The mission seemed to be partly for monitoring the effects of deep-space travel on the human body.
@@olavbjortomt1596 Also, they make it clear that the replicas have issues with some motor skills. Cliff struggles to chop wood. David struggles to fight off the cultists. David also stumbles over the steps at Cliff's house, I think? It's clear that the replicas exist to give the astronauts a way to experience something like life back on earth, but it's not 1:1 and they couldn't be trusted to operate the spacecraft. Lastly, if the connection was ever severed, then the replicas would shut down and the ship would be without a crew. But with humans on board, if the connection to Earth was severed, the mission can continue.
I thought maybe the robots wouldn't be good enough for the mission, but good enough as a sort of stand in on Earth.
@@13strongI knew this wood chopping scene was meant to showcase smth, but couldn’t figure what exactly, thanks!
I was so traumatised by evil Josh Hartnett in 'beyond the sea' he was just so insidious and cruel. That poor innocent woman and child sacrificed for his fragile selfish ego
I’m sorry, I will never not find this man extremely hot, no matter what role he plays.
Crystal meth addict snowboarder? Hot
Aspergers? Still hot
Psychopat astronaut? Never not still hot
Bisexual warewolf? Even hotter
I know he hates it being called hot, he worked so hard to be taken serious as an actor, taking on so many different roles in so many different independent movies. He is an incredible actor and if he would have chosen hollywood, he would be right up there with Brad Pitt.
But he didn’t, he chose a life for himself, his sanity, his family.
I have nothing but admiration for him.
Also, can we talk about Aron Paul s performance? The acting was incredible, the crying scene? Had to watch it multiple times
@@georgianasutu5882 I usually find him attractive but I didnt find him hot as the psychopathic astronaut. I actually found him repulsive in this role so I think that speaks volumes for his acting ability, wonderful performance.
Where’s Aaron guys? His acting was also amazing 😊
This was in England. Josh and family live there.
Big shout out to Slevin Kelevra
great episode, love Josh
most people recognise him from 40 days and 40 nights
Charlie Brooker's sci-fi royalty at this point.
The 6th episode was my favourite
Oh no Josh... it was not necessary!! He killed an innocent woman and child just to teach his coworker a lesson out of spite. So he decided they deserved to die just because he wasnt happy and she didnt want to cheat on her husband with him!! Ugh.... self absorbed 'if i cant have u no one can' mentality
Anyone know why Annabel Jones isn't involved in promotion this time?
Brilliant
great ending, the only right way to finish the story, he cant go back neither as himself or cliff, he’s got no one, he’s at point of no return and the only way to deal w himself and the pain that consumes him is to cause pain to another person, who still has things that he’s no longer possess.
Sure, If youre a psychopath
@@chatroom101 go watch barbie it has the mellow ending ppl say
When did this Q&A take place?
It was filmed at BFI Southbank on Mon 12 Jun.
@@britishfilminstitute Thanks!
18:10 😂😅😅
Make Josh batman for fucks sake
Interesting the way Hartnett said "nonsense chat. That went no where." Then "even if it was torture making it." Sounds like a joke, but...
Ever since real life turned into black mirror I cannot watch a single episode
Was a ridiculously simplistic stupid story, they had perfect human replicas while inside a tin can spaceship, and why the hell would you send the humans into space for 6yrs instead of the replicas.
Worst ending ever. Just an unfinished story.
So disappointed in this season. They had so much to work with, the pandemic, deep fakes, AI, quantum computing...
I agree. I wished they'd go back to history of you type episode but Jesse moved on to succession still roof for Chaz though. His pen game has evolved since dead-set and touch of cloth but was slightly underwhelmed by recent series of black mirror.
It was horrible. Not sure why anyone wants to put such poison into the world. Just my opinion!
It sucked and the ending was bullshit
