Help! I bought a TB3 a couple of years ago and due to various factors - one of them being no initial set up guide - I’ve pretty much never used it - properly anyway. A really basic video on how to connect the thing and the advantages of using midi over the jacks would be useful as this all new to me. Contemplating upgrading my sound interface for one with midi ports. Thanks & great video, I’ve a feeling it will come in very useful.
Sounds easy enough! I would like to do some more gear videos including setups, so this would be fun. For this video, I used the USB connection for MIDI on the TB3. I have a MIDI interface, but I find I can usually deal with the 2-5ms lag using USB over 5-pin. If you have multiple midi devices, then having a 5-pin option on your interface is probably the way to go.
It sounds like you have the connections correct. If you remove the pedal from the chain, the TB3 makes it to the Maschine ok? If so, then I would think maybe a bad cable or bad pedal. You have to be careful with guitar pedals too, because the TB3 is line level and the impedance of the pedal is different and probably not expecting line level. If you have a guitar, you may pass it through the pedal to the interface to make sure the pedal works. I have seen some electronics that will close the circuit when an impedance mismatch occurs so that there is no damage to the processor.
You will need to have the driver and also the TB3 connected to the computer directly with USB. The USB is how it transmits the midi information. Doing this, you should still be able to run the TB3 into the MX1, but I'm not 100% sure if you can still use the MX1 as the interface at that point since I use the TB3 as the interface in this example. Let me know what you find!
Hey there, Have you any idea when I canot hear the sound of the TB-3 whilst recording. I can only hear it when I have changed my preferences back from TB-3 to asio 4 all.
Despite of absolute usefulness of this video it has I powerful track inside! Wow! So mushrooming and trippy!
Thanks for making this very infomative video. Awesome track by the way all the best

The Ctrl software makes the synth 20 tomes better. Oh it has ring mod and 10 distortions built in. Who knew?

How do I get Asio to show in there
If your computer does not have an ASIO driver installed, then you can download ASIO4ALL and it should open up your options.
