One of the most underrated songs in the oasis catalog! I wish they start the concert in Wembley with this song! Because this is not just some fans getting together this a world wide movement!
Also thought this would be an awesome song to start the show with maybe a longer instrumental intro. Going to see them at the Rose Bowl in California. Stoked!!
I think Noel said once, it was worth it just for listening to once, in full, on that day, and never listening to again. Being there then. Aug 21st, 1997. As we were.
The whole record is so unbelievably vacuous and yet it sounds great, and this song exemplifies that. This was the death-knell of Britpop and I'll hand it to Noel, he signed off the period on a massive cocaine-fuelled high.
I mean, it’s pretty obvious that this song has a deeper meaning, and I feel like people rag on Noel way too much for his lyrics. He’s a great poet and people ain’t gonna give him credit for it cause he likes his Beatles references
@@MultiWalrus1 there’s a video on here where someone breaks down the lyrics in relation to his childhood, even if you don’t agree it’s an interesting watch if you can find it
This was Oasis cok'd up on way too much nose candy at the time in 1997, their 3rd album 'Be here now'... This video was heavily edited (It's about 5 minutes... the track is over 7 minutes long) and the audio was remixed recently to make the mix more audible... The original mix was rather 'hazy' sonically which suited the 90's grunge/ alternative rock era of the times. Oasis also flaunted how big they had become - first single for their 3rd album w/ a music video filmed w/ a fleet of British Army helicopters and a crowd of their rabid young fans at an abandoned factory location in London, UK. It was also the last record to feature original Oasis members Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs (guitar) and Paul 'Guigsy' McGuigan (bass) - they quit the band in 1999. It's likely that 'Bonehead' Arthurs will be part of the reunited Oasis in 2025.
The North music scene was massive!!! Like Madchester!!!…..we have North/South divide!!….Never say a Northern is from the south!!!… biggest insult!! The north and south have different cultures vibe!! We’re Manc not from London!!!! We’re working class diff accent etc!!Northwest is the music capital of UK!
Without doubt some of the best lyrics in any song ever, all other wannabe musicians can only dream of this!!

@@tmc1492 London and Chicago lol 😂
Stone cold classic of an album. Overblown, over the top, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
If cocaine was an album

@@kalelvigil1510 go on then, what is the ”deeper meaning” behind ”D’You Know What I mean”? 🤓

Was the most expensive music video in British history at the time
This video is amazing. The entire album was a master class on cocain brit rock. EVerything was overdone till insanity
hahaha imitating Oasis with a cockney accent is basically the equivalent of imitating a Texan with a New Yoiyk accent :P
Saudade dos anos 90. Meu Deus..
They're from Manchester, not London btw.
@@Ghostlove92Kat thank you for the info 😇
2:35 You know what !! you're kidding but it's the absolute truth...no one looking good in parka like Liam Gallagher 😂
Good reaction, if you have a minute listen to the Liam isolated vocals from this song, just shows how epic his vocals are.

React to the original version of this song. This shortened version is highly edited and altered
Agreed. And there is something off with the sound as well.
Other great Oasis songs: 'Whatever' and 'Champagne Supernova.'

There doing a few wembley stadium 95.000 sell outs and now they are going to the good old USA if they dont fall out with eachother.
Just to remind the guy in the bandana who they were - the biggest band in the world from 1995-1998 lol. He can't be that young surely not to remember?
Big up Russia for making this happen💪🇮🇪🇷🇺
This song is about their abusive father ...not God
