Not very often.
The problem I have with fishing a frog is being accurate. Even on a MH I feel the frog is not heavy enough to load the rod enough when casting to place the frog where you want it. Idk how anyone could use a heavy rod from my experience 😊
I had trouble with this also in the past. I started loosening my reel up like all the way. Brakes and tension. Then a good braid will help something like x5 from berkley and then lastly a good rod. Something with a really spongy tip. Or a heavy moderate because of the flex. Lastly. A lot of pros weight their frogs a little especially in heavy cover.
Old timer tricks for weighting a frog? Pull back the hollow body and wrap solder around the hook shaft then pull the body back over it. Used to cut a small slit in the Snag proof from legs, add BBs then super glue them back...
