i also think it's because obviously both emma watson and tom felton were very attractive in the films. despite the differences, people are gonna wanna put the pretty characters together 🤷♀️🤷♀️
maybe if the shippers read the books it would be a little different too, the movies miss out on too much

AVPM is all I know of Harry Potter and honestly I could write a whole essay on that version of Dramione if I wasn't a coward because I think it gives an interesting idea of how fandom culture and media in general treats crushes and rejection. Also because I love Draco from AVPM in general.

I have to add that some of this authors are vary talented, manacled is realy well made, made me go Back too the harry potter fandom, even if just dramione, pairing i wouldn’t dare make bafore.
And you need to talk about drarry, with bigger fanbase than dramione…

Personally, I avoid Dramione stories and prefer Haphne ones.
Harry being shipped with a character that every author can practically treat as an OC, since JKR didn't give us much anything - except her name - about her in OotP. It is kinda strange to mention a yearmate of Harry's in the 5th book, when she did introduce most of them in the 1st one.
It gives a lot of room to maneuver around and make the story not seem like some sicko is practically shipping a boy, practically brainwashed by a certain Austrian painter wannabe, with a girl that belongs to a race/nation/religion he is taught to hate.

I never thought I'd say it, but I finally found a fan shipping that is more cringe-worthy than Harmony (Harry and Hermione). I think a lot of what drives people want to ship Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger together is because a lot of the fans who do have seen Emma Watson and Tom felton's portrayal of those two characters and the chemistry they have on screen is actors. Great video by the way and I love your editing style.
