The UK covers are my fav because they are so beautiful especially in hardcover. Plz don't get rid of em unless u getting hardcover because they are just gorgeous
Just goes to show you can't have enough editions of Harry Potter :) I had no idea the set that shows Hogwarts when lined up was so beautiful! I didn't think that set was worth buying but now I have to have it
Wow!!! I am blown away by your collection and a little jealous omg :D! I have the original hardbacks from the 90s and they are in such bad shape I may have to repurchase.
Thank you! To be honest, I love when books get old! I used to have some paperbacks from the 90s, but I gave it to a cousin of mine. Sometimes I have a difficult time to let go of my books, so when they get old I try hard to give them to someone who will read and take care of them =)
Just finished ready HP series for the First time. As much as I liked the movies and think they did a really great job, you really do not understand how different many parts are in the movies from the books, such as final fight scene, from when Hagrid carries Harry back to the castle, to the final fight scene, and how much MORE you get when reading the books. I do understand much needs to be cut when making a movie. I highly recommend you read or you re-read the books and then you watch the movie, right after you finish each book.
2:01 see that is why I hate softcover. They're falling apart as soon as you get them. For books you really love, buying them new, it's worth it to get the hardcover.
Wow, what a beautiful Harry Potter collection! I love the trunk box and the range of book cover illustrations. I'm really tempted to buy an illustrated version of the Philosopher's Stone.
Don't you just LOVE the illustrations on the Bloomsbury collection. I got it because of the box and the amazing cover illustrations too. I did an in boxing video a month or so ago. So excited when I got it :))
BookCravings omg they're gorgeous! Why didn't I wait to buy this :/ Btw I just did the anything but books tag and I wanted to tag you - noticed you'd already done it! But I mentioned that I wanted to tag you anyway :)
For me, the best will always be the original US edition with the Mary GrandPré illustrations. It just fits the books perfectly. My runner-up is the UK Deluxe editions. They're almost too beautiful to read.
Coming from someone who has the deluxe illustrated editions, they are well worth the money. They are huge and gorgeous and for a collector, I feel they are an investment.
I you love your Harry Potter books! the illustrations by Jim Kay are so beautiful! I haven't seen any of the pages inside the book before, so that was really a surprise. I think they will be the best editions of all of them. But I did love the paperback covers, they were really beautiful.
I can’t believe people love the Bloomsbury books that much, I bought them bc they are the only edition sold in Canada but I thought they looked too childish... I changed my mind now because the illustrations are really nice
Your collection is AMAZING! I also have the American hardcover books but I really want the paperbacks because the hardcovers are so big and heavy when re-reading and I take it with me. My favourite book is Prisoner of Azkaban and Half Blood Prince
I have the paperback box set designed by Kazu Kibuishi too, his illustrations are gorgeous and I love that the spines lined up make Hogwarts 😀. I want to buy the Jim Kay editions this Christmas after Prisoner of Azkaban comes out 😀. I am in the midst of re-reading the series getting ready to start book 6, really enjoying the re-read.
I can't wait to reread them! Good to know JK editions will came out this Christmas! Will you buy the standard Illustrated edition or the Illustrated deluxe version?
BookCravings oh sorry I meant just that I would ask for the 3 that are out so far (or will be in the case I'd the last one) at Christmas, I think they generally come out (at least here in the US) in October. Definitely asking for the standard editions because the deluxe are too pricey for me.
Unforunately I'm still waiting for my set in hardcover English collection to be launched. My two favorite ones are the US scholastic trunk and the UK bloomsbury child appeal box set dated 2014. But the scholastic doesn't have the map, the table of contents pleases me a lot, but what bothers me most is the original name of the first book have been changed (sorcerer's instead of philosopher's) along with several lexical differences in the entire books. But I like the covers and the size of the books and their material. On the other hand, I like the Bloomsbury, besides being from the original series publishing company, which guarantees the original lexic, they have the table of contents as well and the map, I appreciate both contents and map. The negative point here is that the books are small in size. A child Harry in all 7 jackets, stars in the hardcovers and all the child appeal don't bother me, after all they have been designed for children, new generation of readers, to pass the magic on, which is not a problem for me. I don't like the Bloomsbury adult hardcover launched in 2015 at all. Therefore, I'll be waiting a little more to get my definite hardcover English collection. Then, if an edition that pleases me doesn't come out soon, I will probably end up buying the Bloomsbury child appeal 2014 hardcover box set.
I’m currently deciding what set to buy for Christmas... My two picks are, Harry Potter English edition, or the UK edition. Lemme get dat feedback please
In my opinion, in relation to the durability and materials used, I would buy that set that comes in the trunk. The illustrated editions are very good too, but in this case you would not be able to buy all the books because the last books were not released yet.
Beautiful collection! I have the first 2 of the deluxe illustrated editions that you mentioned you're considering buying. I wanted to tell you, in case you haven't seen them in person yet, that they are HUGE and very heavy- much bigger than the standard illustrated editions. They are stunning, of course! I don't regret collecting them but they're definitely not practical for reading.
Absolutely! :) They're coming out with illustrated editions of fantastic beasts and where to find them this year too, and there's going to be a deluxe edition. It has a different illustrator but I suspect it will otherwise match the rest of the HP deluxe books.
I can't believe I missed this video in my feed!! I think it's amazing that you have so many different editions of HP. I don't have enough space in my flat, so I'm not allowing myself to buy the illustrated editions because I'm saving the extra space for new books, but I still really like your setup! :) Out of all the editions you've shown us in this video, the Bloomsbury and the illustrated ones have to be my favourites. I have the original British edition hardbacks and they're not very nice (in fact, they're downright ugly, let's be real xD), BUT I have a sentimental attachment to them (plus they're pretty rare now, esp the first three books), so I'm keeping them regardless. I'm also not a huge fan of paperbacks - glad I'm not alone as this seems to be a minority opinion here on booktube :)
My apartment have 60 meters square. It is crazy. I fear the day my husband will put me on a buying ban due to the lack of space! So far I have bookshelfs on my living room and on my office. So I still have some space on my bedroom. I know, It is crazy lol... BTW, do you think the original British edition hardbacks are ugly? I kind of like them!
Haha my boyfriend is not too happy with the amount of books I buy either :D We live in a one-bedroom appartment (i.e. there's just one bedroom that doubles up as a living room because there's a TV and everything), so I have one bookshelf in that room and another one in the kitchen, which is NOT ideal for books and is hopefully only temporary :) (We don't want to live in this appartment forever!). And yes, I think they're pretty ugly, to be honest... I mean, objectively speaking. That said, I still kind of like them for what they've grown to mean for me. :)
I'm Romanian and I wash to buy it in Portuguese then English. And until now I couldn't by Amazon.com is very expensive and by Amazon.br very cheap but they don't deliver to my country 😱. Very nice books! The first edition looks very nice!🤗
I've finally chosen my Harry Potter hardback box set! It's just made sense to me! It must be the beautiful 2014 hardback child appeal edition. Of course, this magical universe can only be made the most in the mind of a child. This edition is perfect: table of contents, map, titles up in each page (of the book and chapter), offwhite paper (yellowish), excellent diagramming, totally designed for children (size and stunning illustrations matching this fantastic world). And it is from the series original publishing company: Bloomsbury, UK, which guarantees the original writing/lexic. Adult versions lose the essence of the fantasy. The description of the saga says it is to 9-11 year-old children, what explains the child Harry in all 7 jackets, the same reader's recommended age. Other than that, Harry is a wizard! He is able to look like younger longer than usual. These books are incredible. With plots full of courage, loyalty, love, hate, fear, friendship, personality, intelligence, expertise and much more people's feelings and caracteristics that make them suitable to any human being. Thanks for helping me in my decision. 🥳

Beautiful video! I love Harry Potter! Superb collection. I would recommend 'The Cuckoo's Calling' by J K Rowling (writing as Robert Galbraith) if you like mystery/detective fiction. I love the paperback artwork on that book :-)
The only really high standard copies I've seen are the ones with Jim Kay Illustrations, the deluxe version, more than 150 dollars each. They are on my wish list, but I'm not sure if one day I will be able to buy them, or if they worth the price...
Such a beautiful collection! I only have one which is the "signature edition", I'm used to that one and no one seems to have them so they might be rare? My favourite is the Prisoner of Azkaban
I'm trying to decide which edition I should get and I agree that the hard cover scholastic one is rrally amazing and the new bloomsbury covers are gorgeous. I'm torn on which one to buy tbh
Have you sprung for the deluxe slipcased Jim Kay versions yet? I am tempted myself, but as you said they are quite pricey! While I'm stateside, I plan on picking up Bloomsbury for a more authentic read.
Ferg the deluxe versions are on my wishlist but they are so expensive. It’s a huge commitment buying all of them, so I’m not sure, but they are awesome...
@@BookCravings Yeah, I understand. I have the original Scholastic hardcovers (10th anniversary of Sorcerer's Stone). I have always wanted to read them as they were originally written. I go back and forth between the regular and deluxe. Very curious what GoF illustrated will look like in both versions. It's going to be mammoth!
Every edition of the book is in different sizes too. Do they have difference in contents and storyline? Why some of they are bigger and smaller? And also in thickness?
They have almost the same content, but inside the design is different. The chest set contains American editions (American English), and the purple box contains the original (British English). Very subtle differences.
Obrigada, Henrique!
The best binding, comparing the books I've shown in the video, is the illustrated edition. The hardcovers have a nice binding too. But all of them are glued, unfortunately...
I have a set of Harry Potter paperback books, but I'm always worried about marking the spine (especially on Order of the Phoenix). Should I spend the money on the hardcover set, is it worth it?
That's a great collection! :) Beautiful books. I can't decide a favourite though. I have only read the books in Finnish. Now I'm trying to find a set in English that would be hardcover and sewn. Any suggestions?
I suggest the American Hardcover collection, in the chest, or the British Hardcover collection, one that comes inside a beautiful red box (I don't have this one and I think is the most beautiful of all HP editions).
Sameer Rajakumar unfortunately not! I wish I could own the British first hardcover edition but it is the Holy Grail of books nowadays. Really, really expensive....
Olá! Tudo bem? Você sabe me dizer?
Hi!!! I need help, i want to buy them, but idk because now there are a children's editon hardcover ( they are gorgeous and the box too), the american editon ( I like the box) and the ilustred collection now is cheaper than before, had 4 books but i want to read all of them ( Idk to much british because i'm latina and we learn more about US but idc about that)

I'm just getting into Harry⚡Potter and bought the first 3 illustrated books.
Me too started saving for chamber of secrets illustrated
I bought it online but full set

I read the 1dt getting the 2nd on thursday
I like paper backs more imo, they look cleaner to me and just feel better ya they tear but it's the person taking care of them that should be careful
Definitely taking care makes all the diference =)
Yeah I don’t really care if a book is paperback of hardback it literally makes no difference if you take good care
Lol I somehow had the automatic subtitles on and “Prisoner of Azkaban” was transcript into “Treasure of Escobar” 😅😅😅
Fair enough! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hello mam.Can you tell me how is the paper of Hp 5 of american hardback edition like is it thin than hp 1 of the set or is it same as other books.
What is the price of the box in the beginning of the video? *_*
You mean the big chest with American editions? USD205.93
I got my set for about $135.00 on Amazon.
What is better UK hardcover collection or US hardcover collection
I prefer the UK hardcovers...
Olá! Tudo bem?
Você sabe me dizer?
Hi!!! I need help, i want to buy them, but idk because now there are a children's editon hardcover ( they are gorgeous and the box too), the american editon ( I like the box) and the ilustred collection now is cheaper than before, had 4 books but i want to read all of them ( Idk to much british because i'm latina and we learn more about US but idc about that)
Hi!! Honestly I’d get the illustrated editions and some cheaper paperbacks for the titles that weren’t released yet.
@@BookCravings oh okay thanks!!! And Which one you prefere, between the american editon and the children's
editon hardcover?
@@valemaldo21 I prefer the American hardcovers.
