You don't know HOW helpful this was. I have had 2 of my fuses break on the cows hitch but this makes it so much better and has a better chance of it staying together. Thanks !
Brilliant. If anybody asks me a good channel to learn, it's Weavers of Eternity!
I really appreciate you sharing this ! Not only is it much more aesthetically pleasing, but you don't worry about running out of cord.
Awesome tip, thank you. Makes it much easier and cleaner. Just finished my first cows hitch using this method and I love it
Great idea, just one tweak. Your suggestion of moving the joined ends up to behind the buckle has one big drawback. If it does come apart, the ends will likely unravel from the buckle. If you leave this connection well within the bracelet, the outside cords will keep it secure.
Ma Moody That's true, I tend to leave it joined part in the middle.
Use the double cows hitch today to make Thin Blue Line bracelets. This worked great, made a much more sturdy product. Thank you for sharing.
great idea...I usually create core strands for many of my bracelets, most of which are knot/loop...now I can use this technique...which is good excuse to re-tye those patterns.
I agree. It is a much more attractive method. Thanks for the refreshing tip. Cheers, Mal
Nice method, will need to give this a try. Thanks for sharing
You're welcome, thanks for watching!
Your video tutorials have been very useful to in my paracord creations.... I began paracording a few weeks ago after having broke my leg and have made some very cool looking bracelets.I have used your links as well to find good materials and tools. Thanks for taking the time to do what you do... Happy New Year.... Looking forward to 2018 and more great videos from your channel.
Glad you have a way to pass your time with these tutorials! Take care!
I tried this for the first time with the Deadpool bracelet, great finish any special bracelet.
Great work,kudos
Great videos! Are there any concerns with the strength of butt splicing the paracord?
I am new to paracord bracelets. How would you start let's say a cobra or any weave pattern with this method? This method looks "cleaner" and I can't wait to try it. Thanks for the video!!
Do you have the tutorial for this bracelet. I love the colors. Looks like cobra/Solomon in three colors of cord.
It's a good method. I use it especially for fishtail bracelets, but it works with Solomon (Cobra) etc. Vers well, too. I do a little variation of it.
1. Single Strand --> measure the wrist and add 0.5 to 1 inch to it (or which plus of "comfort fit" is OK for you - for me it's bout 1 inch longer then the weist length for fishtail or Cobra)
2. Join the ends (I use the same method as shown in the Video)
3. Add the two parts oft the buckle - each one with a cow hitch
Voilà, it's done...
Wish you all a "happy knotting"
Stefan Baer
Thanks for the variation and tip Stefan! I appreciate the comment and your input! :)
Excellent video....great channel
AWESOME!
Makes it a lot cleaner with the double cow's hitch
+Dayton Graham Yep, that's why I like this method. Looks a lot better.
I really like the idea. You're on the right track as far as making a bracelet look better cosmetically. With that being said, it kinda negates itself because in the end you're still having to cut and singe the braided cord to the outside of the bracelet....which is the exact same principle as the original method mentioned in the video.
+Hailey Curtsinger For sure. To me the whole point of this method is to have the two cow's hitches on the buckles, which is really just cosmetic.
I've seen this method but couldn't figure out how it was done. Thanks for tutorial!
perri six You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
FANTASTIC IDEA...
great idea, i like have 2 cow hitches on the ends, thanks
flon57 I like the look of it too! Thanks for watching!
How do you continue on form there?
Thank you SO much!
You're welcome!
Awsome! This is definitely something I am going to try. I tend to over tighten and as a result I have come up short on length needed to have the damned thing go around my wrist.
That's brilliant.
how do you make your bracelet on it?
Very easy
Cuál es el tutorial de ese modelo!!!
Do you have a video on the braclet in this video. If not will you be doing one. Also enjoy your videos a lot you take time in showing how you do it and that helps e slot may the blessings of the Lord be upon you all.
Is there a video that proceeds to the next step??!
Good channel ...Sound advice.
Thanks!
Learned about paracord & ''weaving'' whilst in the '''sandpit'' back in the day. Lever looked back.
What's the "sandpit"?
The name given by those in the green who have served in Iraq & or Afghanistan ( telec/herreck)
Ohh ok, didn't know that. Paracording must have been a great way to pass the time!
If you get to the end of your bracelet and realize its to long you can undo one of the cows hitch to take up the slack and then just finish your knots over top and it holds everything in place. Thanks for the video also!
+nicholas p For sure! I've done that just this past week. Made it a lot easier when resizing.
I like this, it is much cleaner and smooth. I have one Question though, what doe gutted mean? is it removing the inner stands?
Glad you like it Trudi! And yes gutted means to remove the inner strands of the paracord.
Thanks so much!
oh good Tim! I have been make dog collars and needed a better way to attach the buckles.
Thanks again, can always depend on you for coming up with something better,,:)
You're very welcome Paula! I'm always here to help you as best I can. :)
This is a great idea. It is neater than the other methods. PLEASE make a tutorial for the demo bracelet you used or at least show it open. Thanks again.
+Simon Potter I have a tutorial on how to do that bracelet. Just look up stair step stitch bracelet on my channel.
I hate to say but that looks like more work then the traditional way of doing it
Scott Spicer Perhaps, but for me the end result of the much cleaner look of the bracelet is why I use this method.
I personally always just do a small cross under and then it looks much cleaner, and this seems like a lot of work for something that frankly doesnxt look much more impressive.
I was checking out this video and my wife happened to notice the bracelet in the beginning and liked it. What style is it?
Steven Moore The tutorial for that one is going up in a couple of days! :)
I like this method, it is nice. While it isn't necessary for this project I like to use the "Manny" method of joining two ends together
I like it too! And yes, the manny method is the best for joining paracord!
Personally I would have measured out and made the center loop then done the cow's hitch on to either side in about 25% of the time.
Man...TOOK YOU LONG ENOUGH to come up with a cleaner method! LOL, JK! Thanks Bro, this method is the best for a core. IMHO, Great Idea! Thank for sharing.
much cleaner look I like it
I like it too! Thanks for commenting. :)
Sorry if I don't agree with the newer version. It kind of reduces the effectiveness as a "survival bracelet". The inner strands are usually a part of the overall length. Cutting and singeing the cords would weaken the 550lb test poundage, and wouldn't accumulate much length to utilize (what goes over the inner strands). For a more aesthetic appeal as a "designer" bracelet I could see. But not for any practical use in building a shelter, etc. I guess the end result might be enough length to lash a couple of sticks together. Even keeping with the inner strands as a part of the length a 8 inch bracelet with most styles usually yields about 7ft of useable cordage.
Very true as to what you said. This method is definitely not meant to improve the effectiveness as a survival bracelet. It's really just to make it look better and cleaner.
i have tried to join 2 ends together and never have had any luck any suggestions
I'm new to this, so there are other methods. I try to avoid burning myself by touching the hot cord. I've been using adjustable locking "vice-grip" pliers. I set them so they stop a little smaller than the diameter of cord so the size of the join is controlled. can do also after it is cooled to keep an over-large join from showing.
What size is the Clip?
1/2 inch buckle
this works great for "thin line" bracelets
le falto ver mostrado el tejido la dejo a medias
What size buckle is that?
It's a half inch buckle.
+The Weavers of Eternity Paracord Tutorials thanks
make a simple project complex
l always thought those were larks head. not that it matters.
I guess when doing this you would normally keep to one end of the cord or you'd have a lot of waste where you cut and join.
dragonlord0666 I think it's synonymous with larks head...maybe? And yeah, you can definitely keep to one end of cord to waste less paracord.
dragonlord0666 knots tend to have lots of names, as they've been around for centuries. I've called it a cat's paw, the simple version.
Wut wus that bracelet and the beginning called
That's just a cobra knot bracelet with stair step stitch.
could just leave the slack from one side's cows hitch short so you only have to cut one remaining piece, rather than two smaller ones. Heck, that remaining piece could come off your spool and you will have zero waste from that part of the process.
+T. OddGuy Yes, you can do that of course.
RIGHT!!!!!!!
I know RIGHT?!?!!!
2:26
simple code!!!!
For sure! :)
Dude, I have up until this video, loved all your videos. I've learned a few neat tricks from you. My favorites are the tuts for the single and double strand diamond. Those tuts made something that seemed difficult so easy. I watched them both once and I can tie a diamond knot in my sleep. But this video bro, not all that great. Ive never had to use pliers or inner stands to feed cord onto a buckle bro. And this method is way slower and less accurate. See I make a living of selling paracord bracelets. Ive been on the front lines making all the wide variations of the sanctified since before it got popular. I even make tuts of my own for patterns such as the 3 color Conquistador and the Wide Sanctified Spider Fangs. Im not telling you that your doing anything wrong. Just generally displaying my detest with this method. Sorry if this seems intrusive. I do not intend to offend, only just to voice my opinion. Love you bro and keep up the good work
Do you do giveaways
I have in the past.
The Weavers of Eternity Renaissance you should do it again
Don't you think this is a waste of cord?
A very odd warning is coming from your link to paracordstore.com.
Maybe you should verify your link and the validity of the site then
re-post it. Thanks....
Ok thanks for the heads up, just use the Amazon links for the time being.
And why bother? Symmetry. Symmetry is good.
+Don Waters Agreed! :)
Your correct brilliant alternative method re the buckles. Tought this method by a Gurkha whilst deployed on Op Herrick. & it saves loads of para cord
number 2 takes way too long. time is money!!
Instead of doing important stuff off camera like JOINING PARACORD how bout doing it ON CAMERA for those of us who don't know how so we can stop wasting precious PARACORD!!! Angry viewer here and I LOVE your tutorials.
+Jennifer Woods I have a specific tutorial on how to join paracord: ruclips.net/video/oa6BhyWs7Ys/видео.html :D!
Buddy that's a larks head not a cows hitch
Buddy, when the larks head and cow's hitch are tied and in their final form, they are the exact same knot.
bro....if you say "right ??" one more time...
I had to turn the volume down just to watch
+David hedge Just mute the volume then. :)
this works great for "thin line" bracelets
