I would recommend op to tell this story to as many of his close friends as possible, so as not to face any repercussions if his EX tries to spin it around and tell other people how big of an asshole he was, and even potentially falsely accuse him of something he didn't do to feel better about everything, as many women like her take them crying and begging and not getting anything out of it as disrespect, and would make use of anything to get back at the other party as they in most cases face no repercussions.
