    Recently purchased these for air travel & motorcycle trips but found myself listening through them at home all the time. Delivers that exciting Focal House sound you would expect, a good feature set and I found them to be super comfortable (the weight, negligible). Premium construction, they look like the exception and glad the case is low profile. They really took wireless into audiophile territory and look forward to where they take the line.

    I always appreciate seeing after-one-year or long-term reviews from a reviewer. There are many things that can only be noticed through actual, long-term use in daily life. However, 99% of reviewers, RUclipsrs, or channels review brand-new products fresh out of the box without actually using them daily, yet claim to truly know the product. Thank you for this quality review! I hope you continue to do many more long-term reviews like this.

    I have to say, the Mimi "ear customisation" integration is really worth doing. I did it with some caution, but it really lifts them. I'm a DSP convert on that front. The Bathys are like my Clears ... but I can use them wirelessly and they're WAY more relaxed sounding, which means I can wear the Bathys longer. Yes, the SQ isn't up there with the Clear ... but I was looking for a "Clear on the go" and I feel I found it. My Elegia are nowhere near the quality of Bathys.

    I have been enjoying the Bathys, The PX8 and the H95 for one year now, and I love them all. However, I think I prefer the Bathys overall.
    The PX8 had some built issues and is the one showing the most tear and wear. It is still very fun. The B&O is lassy, and well built, though like the PX8 I had an issue with the headband and B&O replaced them for free. I love the sound of the H95, punchy and detailed. But the Bathys is just amazing in terms of comfort and sound quality. Also, the easiest to use, as the H95 has some connection bugs at times, and so did the PX8.
    Design-wise, the H95 is the winner, though the Bathys has grown on me over time, and its build quality is amazing.

      Don't really understand why you wouldn't want the ANC on when the wind is present? I understand not wanting transparent mode, but the ANC mode isn't bringing wind noise in. It might not be effective at cutting out it, but at least on the Bathy's, it's not amplifying it.

    Love my Bathys, use them all the time. I have two main qualms:
    1) I usually listen over Bluetooth, and the volume adjustment distances are too large. It's either too quiet or too loud, which personally has been a struggle to deal with (and seemingly not too difficult to fix)
    2) ANC/Transparent mode only. I would love to have the option to turn it off completely. That feeling of pressure from the ANC gets to be too much for me sometimes

    Noise cancelling is a mess in this headphone. As you said, when moving around, it feels like the headphone is bouncing up and down your head,which i think comes from a poor seal of the pads. Because no matter how tight I try to adjust them, they still feel loose. And they get worse. I rode the subway and all the buzzing from the train not only did it leak in, but it felt like it was being amplified. It was unbearable. What i did was to tune down the noise cancelling to a middle level and it sort of fixed the issue. But still, they are not good to go out and about, which is a bit missing the point from ANC heapdhones. I hope they can do something via a firmware update

    04:40 I love my Bathys, but the ear cups aren’t angled inside like my Bose QC, and also the ear pads are flat, not angled, so the Bathys touches my ear, and I’m not a fan of that at all. If Focal would produce an angled ear pad I’d be on cloud nine! For me, that’s the only real drawback of this headphone.

    I just bought a pair of these. I find them exceptionally good. Certainly a massive step up from my ageing Ferrari Cavalino T350i’s - fine tuning them with the sound test and EQ modes really helped. I did find the listening to really complex music whilst travelling on a bus with the silent noise reduction switched on did produce some odd effects which disappeared when I switched to soft noise reduction. At home I don’t need the noise reduction which sounds the best to my ears.

    When I received my Bathys almost a year ago I was really disappointed in my purchase especially for the price. The Focal punch and detail wasn’t there. But as I used it more and more the drivers must have broken in and loosened up and they’re a fantastic portable. As someone with big but not huge ears, I have to say im pretty frustrated by the reviews of all Focals claiming how great they are. They are some of the least roomy headphones I have ever tried on. The closed versions are completely unwearable. For a portable headphone, flat not fitting a large number of people should disqualify it from being claimed as "the best". Other portable headphones have figured out how to be small and lightweight while at least allowing a modicum of comfort, or at least not outright discomfort (Sony, Bose)

    • @dbean5174
      @dbean5174 Год назад

      True but tbh, these still have better ear space. All the other Manufacturing like Bose and Sony make the ear pads sit on top of the ears. That is why these are huge looking compared to Bose. Another option is the Aipods Max as I’ve heard about the ear space being pretty big.

After trying Sony XM5, B&W PX8 (really bad sound for its price) and Momentum 4 (seriously a sony-killer and THE budget option), I went for the Bathys, though I really miss the Airpods ANC and Buttons, the Sound is a good step up and the design has grown on me. All I have tried was not good enough (I was exited about the Dali hype, but when I did try them the sound level was really low).
