On a side note to these, I have a bunch of the old Sentinels and a few of the new ones. I prefer the look of both being closed topped. So, now I run the old ones as my Scout and the new ones as the Armored ones.
I also don’t really like the open topped design. I’ve even started gluing the top down, lol. I just run them all as scout sentinels, currently at least.
I know that its rarely makes a differents but I like the missile launcher since if you end up in a situation that you are standing stil (in combat) you get +1 to hit so you still hits on 4
I like this unit but I almost never use it. And unfortunately we can't use reinforcements on them anymore, only infantry. I like these with plasma in combined regiment for lethals against everything which is good against vehicles with high AP and good against infantry with blast.
@georgelonghurst2672 oh, but they are not infantry, they don't get reroll ones unfortunately.. I thought it sounded very good otherwise! And if you don't bring tanks then these have a big role to play anyway, sounds fun.
@@dominicl5862 not that cheap for armour, but for actions I see a big appeal. Two sentinels give you a hellhound which is pretty sturdy and also give utility but only one action and much more incentive to shoot instead. So big action monkeys with boomstick, check! Might have to try that, there's just so many things to try and so few games
...ap-1 is only sufficient if you reliably ignore cover. Plasma is going to win out in most circumstances, especially if you want to favorite target monsters and vehicles. It's tanky enough that it doesn't mind low rolls and really enjoys bad ones. High defenseive statline rewards risk taking.

The Cadian pattern sentinel is, imo, the 2nd best unit in the army.... Only behind the command squad cause Vox range does matter
I have two of the HH sentinels to go with my 3 scouts. The volkites on it count as plasma.

All the weapons are nice, and have things worth noting. Autocannons are going to do great with the re-roll to wound. Not hard to get a ML to hit on 2

ive played a few games with bridgehead strike, there good in that detachment as i tend not to use tanks. re roll 1's to hit with order is decent

No but you pair them with Scout Sentinels almost always. They work so well together. Screening, DMG, actions. Cheap as well.
