  • Mark Webber, the man who isn't scared to say what he really thinks, a great and popular guy around paddock and especially a brilliant driver. The "Aussie Grit" was a part of Formula 1 for long twelve season, from 2002 up to 2013, he almost won a championship back in 2010 and his friendship with Fernando Alonso and rivalry with Sebastian Vettel will be always remembered by many fans as well as some his great overtaking manouvers. And in Australia - he will be remembered as a hero, despite he never won a championship. Thank you Mark for being in Formula 1, it was a pleasure to have you in this sport since the amazing debut in 2002 with Minardi. What a race, unforgettable one!
If you want to read more about Mark Webber, read this great post by @katehewif1 (Twitter account) - katehewif1.word...

Formula 1 is a world of glamour, passion and excitement. With some incredible stories and tales, many of which have good endings but there are even some sad ones. Only the best of the best can drive those beasts around all the challenging tracks in the world - from Monaco to Suzuka. Legends like Fangio, Clark, Stewart, Lauda, Prost, Senna, Schumacher and Hamilton... just hearing these names gives you "goosebumps"! And only true fans can understand why we sit in front of our TVs from March until November and watch the greatest drivers in the world chasing that championship trophy. It's a long journey, but only a few can achieve their dreams.
Formula 1 is also my big passion. I have followed this sport for more than 20 years. While we may never understand feelings of racing drivers, we, fans, have some special feelings too, when we see our favourites succeeding. And that is something hard to describe as well. Then comes "When Words Are Not Enough" as I try to share my passion and represent all the emotions to you, the fans. To never forget those special moments. Thank you, everyone, for your great support. I'm doing those videos only for you, and it's a pleasure.

I was there for Mark Webber's first race in Australia. I followed every race of his career to Brazil in 2013. The day he won his first GP in 2009 I wasnt ashamed to say I cried. It was the greatest moment in sport for me seeing how happy he was that he finally got the W next to his name. Miss you Webber you will always be champion to us Aussies :)

Michael Schuhmacher was my favorite driver. No wonder when you are eleven years old and a german boy.
Then I saw Australia GP of 2002 that was about to change.
When Webber finished 5th place I was so happy for him.
I started buying magazines and read his interviews. He is a down to earth guy and that impressed me even more.
In english class test we had to write about an australian VIP. I choosed Webber and got 2 (or B)
    I remember 2009.
I was working in a hospital. I walked into a room, the patient watched f1. Said to him I'm a Webber guy. The next day (after he got his first W) that patient said to me: I understand why
When he left f1 my interest in f1 was gone.
Webber changed to WEC so I started watching that.
When he finally became champion I cried.
Webber's career is an inspiring one. His climb from bottom to top was interesting to see.
And his retirement video always give me the chills.
This is a great video to a great man.

He gave to F1 way more than what he received back.. Gonna miss him on the grid next year. But honestly who cares? He's going with Porsche to Le Mans so fuck F1. All hail the Aussie Grit.

As an Aussie F1 fan from his first drive at Minardi with Paul Stoddart they showed the world just how well Aussie blokes can go at the top level. Love everything you have done for Australia Mark, great book to. "Aussie Grit" - go buy it! Fantastic read.

If you've followed Mark Webber's journey, you know for sure who’s the 2010 World Champion. Red Bull compete all season against Mark. Two sides of garage, like Senna/Prost, awesome season (2010).

I wish that he had stayed one more year at RBR. I think that while he didn't perform as outstandingly as his teammate with the high-downforce formula he would have ripped Vettel a new one with the new cars. It would have been very satisfying to see.

Don't worry,Ricciardo did that. And it was HILARIOUS to see.

True that, and now I'm a Ricciardo fan, but I like Webber a lot more than I dislike Vettel.

Matteo Pani Ricciardo had a fucken ripper of a year
But he often beat vettel by a second. This shows that either he is really bloody quick or his car was setup better

It is a little bit sad that he throw his best chance of winning a championship away.
Korea 2010 as he crashed a bit of his mental strength got damage. he never recovered from this.
Since then he never could contest Sebastian. bit odd in my opinion.
He was a hard working driver. a simple normal guy like you and me that loves to drive a car fast.
Thanks for the cool things that i remember like Germany 2009 or the Malaysia incident!
~ not bad for a number 2 driver, peace!

I think the Red Bull team will always favour the European drivers. First Vettel ahead of Webber and then a repeat with Verstappen over Ricciardo. Hope Ricciardo wins a championship in his career.

Thank you Mark, shame he was a bit unlucky this year !:/As a Red bull fan sometimes it was hard to watch Sebs and Marks uneasy relationship this year, but maybe it made everything a bit more interesting ! :)

Reb Bull screwed Mark and Daniel. Shame because both deserve to be Champions. Yes they gave them a seat but the obvious European bias for the team mates stank.

Yep. Not bad for a no. 2 driver. Absolutely nothing more than average for a no. 2 either and absolutely not in anyway outstanding.
