Peru I believe...Southern Peru!. 74 before the rains.... Poignant!. But not overbearing! One of the best 10 moments in Taxi and also the golden age of Sitcoms.
Saw a Taxi filming at Paramount in 1982. Lloyd never came out of character in the two and half hour filming. Yep, that how long it took for a half hour show.
I was laughing just about the whole entire time. I miss watching this show. I only watched when they had the reruns back in the 90's. Christopher Lloyd sure has each and every character he plays down, great actor. I'd say he was at his best in Back to the Future trilogy though. He was a perfect fit for the part of Doc Emmett Brown!
Reverend Jim - when commenting about how he wound up in Omaha when he set out to hitchhiking to Washington: "I must have used the wrong thumb!" That should have gotten a much bigger laugh...
Love Jim, fantastic actor. Best laugh I ever got was when Danny came out of his booth the very first time and I realised his height was lacking. I still laugh when I think of it.
oh darn. i was a little confused at that scene because i didnt know about this show until recently and i already know danny from other things. if this was one of this first appearances as an actor i suppose it would have been a cool reveal
@@alfredobolanos1301 Actually the prototype for the Kardashians was Paris Hilton who invented the "famous for being famous" gig. People with no apperent intrinsic worth being like pooff, FAMOUS .
I just had some chocolate chip cookies and they were great but i didn't have a nice surprise inside.. Sniff sniff.. But one of funnest scenes on t.v. was when Jim tried to take a few lines of the batch.. Those were not lined.. They were rails.. Wooof 😁😁😁😁
Totally agree. Ladka was great too and his twacked out wife. Comedy shows back then were so much fun. Threes Company was a great show too. Mork and Mindy. The list goes on.
Actually, to sample tea leaves, you first crush them, then rub the residue between your palms while blowing on them (to add moisture). Then you sniff. So Jim was pretty close.
Slum lord > I noticed that, he could barely stay in character, what a brilliant actor Christopher Lloyd is! He stayed unwavering in bit thru the whole scene.
That was the first time cocaine was sniffed on TV, (or pretended to be) whether it was a cookie or not. And it WAS relevant to those times as almost EVERY popular band in the late 70's was on massive amounts of cocaine: The Eagles (Joe Walsh was out of his mind) Fleetwood Mac (Stevie Nicks once bought $1 MILLION in cocaine) Neil Young David Bowie Aerosmith (ALL of them needed speed to "get right" before they imploded) Rolling Stones Eric Clapton (Almost killed himself with coke and booze) Van Halen Crosby Still and Nash, Young.
I was in a restaurant in Santa Monica with the actor James Stacy when, following the main meal and before desert, he brought out a folded sheet of paper, opened it in the middle of the table to display a modest pile coke, and asked in his normal speaking voice, "Want some?" The place was packed and nobody batted an eye (and no, I've never done drugs). That was the second time I was offered cocaine in a public place.

I don't care what anyone says: Jim Ignatowski was the breakout character of that show
Jim brought the biggest laughs and they were all funny but Jim gets the highest praise for sure. 👍
Jim was my favorite...he was in a class all his own! His comedy was unique! I loved that guy!
I was just about to say the same thing. He's definitely the best character on Taxi. But how come he's a pastor? He seems way too coherent.
I think he was that character as a one episode deal and they realized how good he was and added him to the show!
Southern Peru to be exact lord have mercy I love this show he's my favorite character hands down .
I love Peruvian women. I married one. Still married after 31 years.
'you didnt run into your brains while youre back there , did you? no, but i wasnt really looking..! :) what a line
How could 100 people dislike this video!? So funny. Pure gold.
Damn that last setup and punchline was pure gold 😂❤️
Timing, timing.
Christopher Lloyd and Danny DeVito in one flew over the Cookoos Nest was the first time I ever seen either one of them .
Lloyd was a Broadway actor and "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" was his first major motion picture (as was DeVito's).
I was so dumb I wondered where in the hell they had found so many mental cases capable of participating in a movie!
One of my favorite scenes of any show ever
Sadly, they don't allow comedy like this anymore. Thankfully, I'm old enough to have watched it live.
Yes they do. There's comedy shows that are far more controversial than this out today. You must live under a rock.
....."Tell'em to mind their own business !"....Priceless ! (from 3:17)
Amazing writing ...Amazing cast. ✌ "..And as you know ..you were tardy." "We had the stool ...and we had the bucket."
The brilliance of Carol Kane.
Best sitcom and cast ever
Devito a class act for not losing it when he snorted the cookie.
A class and classic moment in Television. It is the equal of Jethro accidently firing up his rocket and the WKRP Turkey drop.
I completely lost it when Jim snorted the cookie!
So did Danny, 😂
Omg me too!!! I’m still laughing 😆
This is simply wonderful. I honestly struggle to think of better American comedy than this.
You live under a rock
This was a great show..miss it .they should play the reruns..
Christopher Loyd and Danny devito where great together . That's comedy 😃
Danny almost lost it after the snorting.
No he didn;t.

I agree, it's a throw- away and must have been a hoot to write, but it fell a little flat. Great writing on the show!
At 2:24 it looks like DeVito is having a hard time keeping from busting out laughing.
And again at 2:43.
You're hallucinating and full of shit!
Obviously an expert in hallucinations and being full of shit.
what talent timeless known a few Rev Jims in 70s.

i LOVED THAT SHOW, REV. JIM AND LOUIE WERE THE BEST

true about lloyd and devito making this show. hirsch, henner, danza and kauffman were decent, but only when playing off each other.

Best scene ever.
just the best he is . a forefather . A hint of him is in kramer for sure.
