Can you make a video on how to transfer files using smart switch but when the old phone screen is burnt and gone full white its accessible but you cant see nothing on it. I would really appreciate if you do that because my S20 Ultra 5G had this issue as many S20 Ultras and now I dont know how to get my data from it using this method, I would really appreciate your help.

Don't get me wrong, there is a definite learning curve as Android and Apple are polar opposites. If you're ready to step out of that comfort zone - Galaxy S23 Ultra I highly recommend.
@@jadddean it was pretty seamless for me! I used Smart Switch & followed this videos walk though. Worked perfectly. All my apps (the ones that had an Android equivalent anyway), photos, texts, voicemails, voice memos. contacts, notes, reminders - everything came over to my Galaxy. The only thing I'd recommend is to get a password manager and save all your login information. I didn't do that and had to physically log in with User/Passwords to every single app again. That was a pain but everything else, very easy! Loving this Galaxy so much more than iphone

All I can say is damn good info. I set up my S22U the old fashioned way, and since I'm pretty sure in a year I'll be getting an S24; I am going to give this a try for setting up my S23 Ultra. Sure appears to work ok, and the info from this video sure makes it easy to do. Thanks. UPDATE: Info was slightly off with steps, but NOT a problem. Pretty much the system walks you through the procedure. However, not as easy as shown when going from an S22U to a S23U. Kept disconnecting when using cables; had to restart a few time. Tried two different cables (one from S22, other from S23) same problem. Cannot believe either port was bad since the S22 port was very seldom used, and only used for data transfer. Phone has always been wirelessly charged. S23 was initially charged with a cord, but would assume it was ok. It did finally work, just took a few times to get it to remain working while plugged in. (Both phones started at 100% charge.)

Yes! I transferred data with smartswitch from note 20 to s23 ultra. Everything transferred without any issue! You only need to take a backup off wattsapp data in Google drive if you use the app.

When you transfer the photos from Android to Samsung, is all the information about the photos saved? Including when the photos were taken and where were they taken? And when I copy the information of the messages, is it only on SMS or also on WhatsApp or only on WhatsApp? Does it copy all messages from WhatsApp?
My question is will the pics be in the same folders that they were on the old phone? I just transferred all my pics after initial setup and they're all now together in one folder which is very inconvenient. Thanks in advance

I think if it's encrypted you have to decrypt it before you transfer. I hate transferring info when getting a new phone. I find not everything gets transferred. Iam going to have to do this next week transferring my note 20 to s23. Which I know is going to be an issue as s23 doesn't have sd card and I have one in the note.
I got my new Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra couple of days ago & had to go through the tiresome process of transferring all my data from my old Sony Xperia + setting up all my accounts again. As long as you have your progress saved on your old phone. For example I play Solitaire Grand Harvest on my phone and have my progress saved by way of Facebook link with the game. So if I transfer the game to my new phone I just have to link the game on the new phone back to Facebook and I get my saved progress from game on my old phone

The last time I signed into my Samsung account it started putting the large white rectangular Samsung Pass box in the sign in area of my important apps so signing in became a nightmare. so i just spent 4 hours setting up the phone just to have to reset the thing again. I did the backup from icloud already but it only put like 20 photos on
samsung when they have a feature, it always work flawlessly. its not like microsoft where things always have compatible issue. feature never work as it intended to be. for example like in microsoft window, finding network storage or other share folder on network either takes a long time to find it or never find it. sometime window version compatible issue. or it ask you for password to login but it doesnt work. if samsung make their own operation, it would works so smoothly.
OK I did this and successfully transfered all the files. Then after i put in the simcard I lost all the files I transfered. Unfortunately I already factory reset the old phone. Is there any way to recover my files? I think you should have a caution in this video.
Hi..i want to transfer my S7 Edge data / apps etc to an S23 Ultra but the S23 wont have a SIM card . I was just going to put the SIM from my S7 Edge into the S23...will this cause an issue only having the 1 SIM while transferring the data as I think the S23 will also need a SIM to turn on . (S23 just ordered from Samsung)
@melloniek730 Turns out it didn't matter. I transferred data using Samsungs Smartswitch app from my old S7 Edge to the new S23 Ultra with the SIM card in the S7 Edge. Once the data had transferred I put the S7 Edges SIM card into the S23 Ultra and all worked fine.

I'm pretty sure you would have to re sign in to each app that has a password individually on your new device.

Turns out it didn't matter. I transferred data using Samsungs Smartswitch app from my old S7 Edge to the new S23 Ultra with the SIM card in the S7 Edge. Once the data had transferred I put the S7 Edges SIM card into the S23 Ultra and all worked fine.
