1:52 RIP Daddy Long Legs.
haha...that SOB had it coming :)
flagging for animal abuse :P
plenty of space, he made it
Cheers for this, been searching for "woodworking plans wood shelves" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Yiyli Yeyavid Booster - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my neighbour got cool success with it.
As an amateur with woodworker, i typically feel overpowered with the entire arrangement ruclips.net/user/postUgkxrYREG3-7f1Aqk9ams3ZESRNzGnfdUtyQ . Be that as it may, this arrangements drove me through with much clarity and effortlessness woodplans. Works i now work like a genius. That is great!
Starts out as just a power saw and a drill. Then: clamps, tape measure, speed square, respirator, ear muffs, goggles, extension cord, table saw, saw horse, palm/orbital sander, drill bits, mallet, hand saw, hammer, router, drill press, forstner bits, paint roller/ cover/ tray, hammer drill...
I drive past all the big box hardware stores and always go to True Value. Great job. Subscribed.
I've been watching a LOT of woodwork DIY lately, and while I've come across some real good makers, I think this video was easily one of the best:
You showed us what you were making right at the start, no-fuss and to the point, clear instructions, enough explanation for your decisions, good suggestions for alternative techniques, wonderfully shot both visually and instructionally, and as a designer, I even appreciate the illustrations to illustrate how you're about to tackle the project which gives a good overview to understand it all. Even the music, while I'm sure is generic stock music, is appropriate, calming, and I'm partial a good relaxing guitar. And I appreciate how you even implemented your sponsor in a tasteful way that respects the viewer.
The ending little dialogue was also really amusing to me! lol
Thanks Keto wolf...appreciate it. Hope you enjoy the other videos too. Not all are this DIY, but I've definitely got a handful of DIY type. Just put out two DIY desks in a video today :)
You 100% nailed the message of True Value... I work at a small one in Aberdeen, NC... We have been around for 97 years and we stand by our customer service... It's something we all care about and really love doing
Hey Chase...that is cool to hear. My comments didn't come from corporate or anything like that. More the feeling I've always had when shopping there, and the sentiment that I got from my conversation with Scott who co-owns my local store.
Amazing job as always. I really like the graphics to walk through alternate designs and show why you choose this shape and size, and showing all the color options is a clever touch.
Thanks Mike...appreciate it :)
The color idea sort of came from a comment the client made - so I can't take full credit for that one
so modest...well, the execution was perfect, and the client had nothing to do with that.
At the end of the day, we do truly all love Mario. I like both base options you showed here, Chris! Can't go wrong either way. Enjoyed the video!
Hey Bruce...appreciate it! And we do all love Mario. Sonic is alright too :)
Chris Salomone Thanks. ;-)
It's interesting to watch Chris' earlier videos. A job site saw, dewalt sander, and no festools or sawstops. It's really cool to see how far he's come along with not only his equipment, but his designs and editing. Keep it up.
Very nice. I like that I didn't feel like I was watching that for 15 minutes. Nice job with the flow! (And the TV stand is nice as well...)
Appreciate it 👍🏻
Turned out awesome as usual, man! Those doors were a clutch move. Color can definitely be manly!
Heck yeah 👍🏻
I liked the team color idea; of course, that means replaceable doors depending on the season. I believe SoCal is four season (football, baseball, basketball and May). :-)
Says the guy with the purple side table. ;)
You know it!
I like that you can paint the doors a different color on each side and just flip them around when the season changes or as you change things in the room. I like the thought of mixing wood, paint, and metal by using brushed aluminum vinyl wrap on the doors.
This has truly become one of my channels on RUclips. Great craftsmanship with excellent story and content wrapped up in every single video. Well done sir. I really do appreciate your style and art.
subscribed because of this comment!
The way You're putting ads in videos are simply... THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE. RUclipsRS FROM AROUND THE WORLD... LEARN!
Great video, i'm gonna build this in my home. Thanks!
Great video!!! One of the best DIY projects i saw on youtube! Amd the final result is amazing.
Nothing Beats 5-6 coats of Tung Oil 😄 Nice build, go Cubs👍🏻
I love your "final thought" on every video. It's what makes you my go to woodworking RUclipsr Chris. Keep on keeping on!
Thanks Asif :)
It's a great message I appreciated it!
The production value you put into your videos is stunning and pleasant to watch. You and a few other content creators with similar values really have inspired me to begin my own channel this spring. I truly appreciate the work you do and the effort you put into making these videos.
Did you started yet??
Great video. The combination of music and dialog makes me feel like I am watching a salty old craftsman share his trade. Thanks for sharing!
I'm a future salty old craftsman in training. That sounds like it should be a shirt.
Excvellent work Chris. You're an inspiration!
Wow. Amazing content! Attention to detail, cinematography, and the choice of music was all on point! Earned a subbed bro!
Thanks man. Hope you enjoy the others as much :)
Man, I thoroughly enjoyed this video.
I am looking to move into my own pad and currently dont have furniture.
Shopping has shown me how expensive quality or modern design furniture can be, and quite frankly, I cant afford it.
This has inspired me and illustrated how simple it is to design and create.
Thank you and merry xmas
This was a very thorough video. Thank you.
I like this build! Love the information on why it should be low and long versus taller.
Thanks Mallory. Appreciate it!
Mallory Rob
I agree with you. Forms following function, rationale philosophy of use and minimalistic aesthetics.
Tall supports are not good at balancing.
Awesome! I was waiting for this. Now to decide between this or the other one you just made!
haha...depends on how much space you have I guess :)
I swear I've been binge watching you for 4 and a half hours
Awesome video. Love the stand! Also love the explanation of when it’s best to use a circular saw vs table saw for these projects. Nice work.
Thanks JB...appreciate it!
Another home run Chris! Great video and the ending..lmao! We all need a break from the spinners. Always appreciative of your safety tips through the video. Never hurts to drop knowledge for the novice or a refresher for the veteran woodworker. Can't wait for the next vid!
I use that same dewalt table saw and stand for work. When setting it up I extend all the legs while its standing on end and just grab the handle and pull it over. I've had the one I got for almost 2 years and I haven't seen any adverse effects to the legs they're still going strong try it out, it's way easier, especially when you're by yourself
The video that inspired my first real woodworking project which ultimately led to a passion. Thank you FourEyes! Amazing to see how much your craft has grown since posting this.
Congratulations! Beautiful job.
Te salio genial!!! . Buen trabajó. Saludos!!! desde Perú 🇵🇪.
Considering the work you do today, it's really inspiring to see you doing 6 years ago what I do right now using simple tools most of us have as a beginner. It's not that we all aim to build 10k slab tables, but nice to know that we probably could in a couple of years if really wanted to.
It seems like this took a long time to out together with all the alternate options and knowledge nuggets thrown in. But I think it's super cool!
I?... how about we? Thanks Evan or Katelyn 😜
Chris Salomone haha, confusing no? This particular comment was I, Katelyn
Nice work with simple tools! No crazy track saws or dado stacks.. :)
Chris Richards not
Chris Richards is a name I'll never trust after that bs.
I really enjoy your style when it comes to woodworking videos, it kept me interested the whole way through. Great job dude
Thanks Tom...appreciate that :)
Your videos are therapeutical. And I don't even do woodwork. Keep it up!
Thanks Lars...appreciate it!
its so perfect!!!!i love it!!!
Chris - I absolutely love your work; the irony is that I'm not a fan of "mid-century" design. But, what you do...and how...and why...aren't stuck to just one style. The heart and soul of it can wear an exterior of mid-century or arts-and-crafts or williamsburg or georgian or what my father called "early attic." Thank you for sharing your particular flavor of manliness! :-)
Hey Dan...that's really cool to hear, Really appreciate that :)
Another great build and a very enjoyable video! I LOL'd at "as mixed as this metaphor is becoming"
Thanks Brad.
Great build Chris, thanks for sharing and a really nicely shot video, that Southern Cal light is fantastic!
It really is...plus being able to work in a T-shirt out in the driveway the week between Christmas and New Years is pretty nice :)
Poor spider @1:53
haha...I noticed that. PETA is gonna be all over me :)
Dude, good eye!
Very nice build, easy to follow! I’ve been wanting to build something similar for my own TV so this was very helpful, especially regarding the sliding doors, a feature I wanted to include! And, I had no idea you were I So Cal until your trip to True Value. I’ve spent quite a bit of time in the Fullerton store and have always found their staff to be super friendly and helpful!’
“All you’re going to need is a circular saw and a drill” Proceeds to build credenza with a table saw, bar clamps, wood glue, drill press, palm router, palm sander.....yeah 2 things....
And router.
you’re missing the point lol, you COULD build it with those 2 things if that’s all you had.
Must be so hard to be you… required. All extra tools are optional
Yea foureyes is kinda slow
😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
looks fantastic
hi this look amazing! would you be able to give the dimensions, I know you stated them on the video but I got lost
Yes, tempo and feeling are just alright, and great job.
Thank you. Another quality video & build.
😃
nicely done!
I really liked this one, You are explaining everything very well for a beginner, I appreciate when ppl are making something that they dont use every fancy equipment that they have to do a nice piece. thx
I liked this TV stand!
Thanks :)
Mmm... That is what i was missing in my day, a nice relaxing video with the Bob Ross of woodworking.
haha...thanks :)
thank you True Value and Scott for supporting Chris and and your community. I practically live at my True Value (Zellars Napa, CA). Chris is an excellent wood worker and while creating value for his community by creating a place where people can come and learn. However For me Chris is a strong clear voice of what for me America is about. His method of clam story telling is inclusive and educational especially for young people off to start a life aventure. His word play is the draw for me, his banter is captivating. No he is not my son and if he was I would be beaming like the Sun.
I like you videos. You came a long way from this video to what I’ve seen on your more recent projects
Thanks man.
You really don't know how much I love this man! Great work!
Thanks Tony. Glad you dig it :)
Chris Salomone it's one of my fav styles, thanks for showing this to us n your reply!
Huge fan of the channel and definitely like this more garage diy style you’re trying out.
Yes! First upload since i've found you and binged the rest!
Good timing :)
Thank you for this! I messaged you a few times about sliding doors and this helped a lot. Oh and I have a DWE7491RS as well. Really like it. Except the small work surface.
Hey Alex. When we were talking I kept thinking... if only this video were out already. 👍🏻
You killed that spider!
loved this... i love the design
The end of this video had me rolling in my chair. :D Wonderful work!
Thanks Sam :P
This is pretty dang cool, man! I like the project and of course, the video/narration.
👍🏻😃
I love the way your videos are meditative. I am a visual learner and your step by step with explaining what and why are most helpful.
👍🏻
Wow dude, not sure if you were trying to make it seem more possible for us with less experience but you made that look so easy with the contractor saw, circular saw and drill. I don't know what my excuse is anymore, you took them all away!
it's not that hard man...you can do it. Just think things through, have patience and you can do it. Obviously you'll make mistakes, I still do plenty, but overtime you get better and it gets easier :)
So many options! Awesome footage! Awesome build as always.
Thanks :)
Thank you man!
Nicely done good sir.
MootFixPlan. xyz - Here are some great woodworking plans if you are interested.
Great video it’s always a joy
Your videos are excellent!
This build was absolutely beautiful well done!! Cant wait to try it out (gonna go buy circular saw now)
Good man :)
Thanks Daniel!
VERY GOOD video and beautiful TV stand! I really liked your editing and video shooting skills! Nice, low-key, not over-the-top production (like so many youtube channels are these days. Keep up the great work!!!
Thanks Jeff...appreciate the kind words :)
Very nice DIY furniture. The video has also been produced in a very enjoyable way. Congrats.
Wow.... You're the best!!! Your way of expressing yourself gave me so many more great ideas.... God bless!!!
We Just built this TV Stand. Thank you so much for putting this out in the world. We decided to make our own panels(our first panel glue up ever) which made everything take way longer. But these plans are solid and the build itself took almost no time and looks great!
How much was your total cost?
@@halokillernoob We built this from wood we already had(reclaimed wall paneling). The only thing we bought new was spray paint and some panel clamps, so maybe $80. If you bought the wood to make this I would think several hundred dollars depending on the size you went for. We loved being able to use old scrap wood though, so keep an eye out and see what you can find. Jointing, planing and sanding had us sink a lot of hours into it though.
Chris, awesome work as usual and loved seeing you get to work out in the sun on your driveway (ah, I miss California!). Good build, my wife is asking for something very similar; I'm on it... now.
Thanks Randy. Yeah, it's got it's downsides, but winter weather definitely isn't one of them :)
Chris has an impact driver, yay!
life changing :)
Hello, great work !! And nice design too !!
I was wondering about the "grove" and the colored panel... They seems to slide effortlessly... Is it durable please ?
I'm interested in building something like this and wanted to know with the hairpin legs if you start to notice any sag after a while. I know plywood can be solid, just want to know if I need to be careful, or consider a center leg if I build one with 70" length. Thanks, great video!
70" in length there would probably be some sag. I'd probably put a cheater block in the center to help support it. it's something you wouldn't see unless you got really low, so you should be all good.
Go steelers...... cool build bro!
Thanks John...sorry today's game didn't go your way. My family is full of Steelers fans - so they feel your pain.
It was the worst. I haven't seen play calling like that in my entire life as a football fan. Unreal
Good Video, And your voice so soft, makes me want to fall sleep. Kudos to you +1 subscriber
I came here from a toxic wasteland sometimes also known as reddit just to say, once again, that I love how it turned out. I love many of your designs, they just click with me, and this one is no different.
Really Really well done. Solid build and elegant video. Nice feature on the hardware store in the middle. Well implemented. (First time finding one of your videos) I may actually attempt this build in the spring. Pretty excited about it.
Especially the coloured sliding doors.
Appreciate that...you should give it a go :)
Unlike last time this was too long for toilet viewing so I watched this in bed and I'm sure ur proud to know that ur calm voice and casual music didn't wake our sleeping baby. Well done you.
haha...whenever I make a video I have two goals in mind:
1. to teach and inspire other makers
2. don't wake up any babies :)
Nice build, thanks bro.
Laker Fan! My man!
Hi, which software do you use to sketch your workpiece?
I remember the TV shows of true value when I was a kid, make me love doing, fixing etc stuff in my house that's true value your the first TV show of diy
I don't remember that. I'll have to do some Online sleuthing :)
Nice build, Chris! As Kansas Jayhawks fan I REALLY REALLY like those doors!!
Haha. Didn’t think about that. My Dad did like them in the 90s though. He like Jacques Vaughn. (Spelling?)
Yep. '96-'97 and '97-'98... the Dream Teams... Rock Chalk Jayhawk Go KU !! :)
Nice seeing you trying contractor grade tools and still making quality furniture.
Thanks man. A little slower... but fully capable.
very well made video keep it up man
Great job. Wondering if you have plans for this build yet? Would def pay for a set.
You're really great at this. All of it.
Solid Mad Men reference there.
It worked out perfectly!
Manly is the man in the room not the stuff the room is filled with. Stand in it in what every manly glory you define that to be.
I think I just felt a few new chest hairs grow in 👍🏻
Wow it’s really good to find a video that starts with only need circular saw and a drill. Most videos I find are made by people with huge workshops, which isn’t accessible to me starting out. Thanks.
I'm working on a couple designs to really take advantage of a smaller tool set at the moment. They may not be out for a while though.
@@Foureyes.Furniture thats exciting to hear, I'll subscribe and keep watching!
Great vid as always, I’m also a fan of starting with Why! Congrats on the Dewalt sponsorship😀
haha...thanks Richard. Unfortunately, I don't have one...
Great video and end product
Great finish on the ply too
Wish plywood here in the UK was the same quality as yours.
Decent ply costs a fortune here 🙄
I've heard that. I guess we are lucky here...it's pretty easy to come by and relatively cheap
Dude, you earned a sub! Nice vid, keet it up!
Why dod i feel the middle partision is not straight.. anyway its look beautiful finished 😊
Is there a link to the plans for this? Great video but would want a cut and supply list to build myself :)
Boa Salomone. Parabéns irmão.
how much sanding do you do on veneer? Seems like it shouldn't be much
it isn't much. At most 180 and 220...sometimes just 220 grit.
I go till second layer shows :)
