Thanks For Watching! - Craig Helms - Хобби
Nicely made, love the simple and clear instructions. Great video and thank you for keeping it simple with the tools, nothing fancy on the tools or cuts. We appreciate it.
Keep them coming.
Awesome as always....I need to get a planer before i start the next big project of living room built in shelves and cabinets. You always make this look so easy and awesome, I really appreciate the videos.
Love the size & look of the fireplace, installation was easy. We switched out our gas fireplace to an electric one & we couldn't be happier!
A nicely made tv stand at a good height is definitely better than mounting the tv on the wall if you have lots of consoles speakers etc. This is great!
That thing will outlive the house it's in.
Just built this for my daughters house. Appreciate the plans!
This is a great design! Been planning on making something like this once we move places since I won't be able to wall mount my stuff in the next place. Thanks for the video and your time!
Your TV stand turned out so beautifully! Thank you so much for sharing!😊
Lovely work, great colour scheme, perfect for it's intended use. 👍 👍
Just finished project & turned out great. Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Well done 👍🏽 made out with no fancy equipment, looks so good
Appreciate the video!! Didn’t do it 100% the same, but basically used the design a guidance. I built a build-in in the basement using your video. Thanks!! 🤙🙌
Thanks for giving a very easy and creative way to build wooden items.
So great! I just stumbled upon this video! Excellent! Very clear and to the point. This is one of the better instructional videos I’ve seen in such a long time. I will subscribe to your channel and I look forward to seeing more awesome projects this was very wonderful and refreshing❤️
Your TV stand looks amazing! The quality along with customization & dimensions are superb. I really envy this piece because trying to find a stand for the TV I just purchased is very hard to find.
I would loveeeee one of these!!! Great job!
Nice builds, hope to see more new builds soon.
Thank you for such a great video. You have a gift to teach. 100% useful , and 0% of the non sense found in so many of the other videos , where you need a $20,000 workshop in order to complete. Liked, & Subscribed.
Great job! I love it.
Great looking TV stand. Well done. I'm interested in building a 3x4 Kitchen Cart on casters to store some kitchen appliances, and to create a large cutting board surface. I'll be using your designs as inspiration. Of course, if you want to do a similar project, even better. Cheers!
Everything is nice in this video, everything single thing !!!!!!! Thank you for sharing, big hello from france and stay safe every one.
I meant "every single thing", must be emotions 🤩👍
Excellent design, attractive and sturdy looking stand. I would like to have a 65' made for me.
Great to watch. Loved your clear instructions. Paul from the uk 🇬🇧
Really great job!!! Thanks for sharing. God bless!
You really did a great job might have to do this build
Thank you!! I built it and it looks fantastic. Don’t know how to post pics otherwise I would
Very well explained easy to understand thank you for sharing
Pretty TV Stand
Awesome work 👍
Luv it.
Awesome!
nice job... looks awesome...and looks incredibly heavy
Great job…👍👍
Awesome work. I think I found my next project! Question for you - Measuring from the floor, what is the height of the shelf where you put your sound bar? I may actually install drawer with drawer slides so I can hide my Korg Trinity Music workstation (digital piano) and slide it out when I want to play.
Amazing
Looks great. I bet it’s heavy too
Im going to make an attempt on a super limited budget and use deconstructed pallets and plywood, I hope it looks nice 😭
Excellent video I have been looking around for a TV stand design for a while and I think this is it, I guess time to head to Home Depot for supplies! I will let you know how it turns out when I am finished!
Thank you!
@@BuildItBettergreat work. Awesome video, well, articulated, kept it simple with the tools and description. Not sure if I missed one thing and that was the lumber. Did you use, white ash, or what would you suggest?
I was reading comments and put my comment under yours to the original poster. My apologies in doing so..
Great Job.
Im gonna take some of your ideas. But using 1x4. Because Im making a Floating Media Console. And adding Barn Doors. Wish my Garage was as empty as your 🤣😂😅
This is a great project! Only thing I would have added would have been some legs on the bottom.
Woo woo muy bonito ,🙏🙏🙏
Thanks
Just completed it did come out looking great. Honestly though if it was built with mostly 2x 10s it would have been so much easier. I don’t how much that would change the look but damn 2x4s are a pain.
I love the design! But, I'll probably use some nicer planed wood, finish plywood, and stain it to give it a more finished look and make it a bit lighter. The dimensions and design are just about perfect for what I want to build. Thanks for the idea.
Hey it looks great but I'm thinking all that 2by 4 us just way too heave for a tv, simply using 3/4 plywood will be strong enough, can always be braced in corners, his method makes it way too heavy and you'll hate it when you need to move it
@@jurnagin I agree.
My parents gave me a dresser made this way and now I see why they gave it to me, it's so heavy! I can't get rid of it because it's too heavy to give away because I don't wanna struggle with it
Can u recommend a guide for my circular saw cuts? I have riggid circular saw. I've never used a guide not sure if thats what its called either 😳
This is really beautiful, I love to do things wiht I am working on my first TV stand and bed. I see that the electric wood cutter is a must or are there mills that help to cut the wood or can we rent the tools?
I dont have a work table. Can you always cut on polystyrene insulation? Will the saw not cut through?
"pocket holes". That must weigh a ton. Looks good.
Very nice! But if I have to hear the man say "pocket jig hole" or "pocket jig screw" one more time, I might lose it! Lol! I might try to build a similar piece.
Do you have a pink to the handles and hinges?
Dang I wish I could build this
what type of wood did you use for the build? Pine, fir, etc.
Did you paint the bottom of the stand or put any kind of coat on it?
Nice, but I couldn't imagine doing all this on my knees. They make stands for mitre saws.
Love your content! Can I talk you into a how to make a farmhouse dog kennel that looks similar? 🙏🏻😊
I just bought a 75 inch TV, will these measurements work?
Nice build. A question if I may, would the use of 1x4 instead of 2x4 compromise the integrity of the TV stand? I have have a 47lbs tv. Thanks
Yes!!! This 2 by 4's makes a world of difference
May we ask how much the build cost I. Supplies at the time of making this video?
Very cool man awesome video! Great instructions. Would it make a big difference if I was to make a taller and wider tv console? If so,
why?
@BuildItBetter
I know your busy with all the business you are pulling in Craig. But are you going to be doing any more videos for the future?
I love this idea! But I had a question ⁉️ what did you do with the 4 2x4s cut at 24inches??
@Build it Better
Looks like the middle shelf
Looks great but would be better of you could build a lighter weight base and also if you could keep the plywood to one thickness instead of 3 different types as they are roughly $30-50/piece for those alone
How tall is the area where the sound bar is?
Is it 2x10’s or 2x12’s..10’s are listed but 12 is what’s said in the video?
Hey I just built this and it's amazing , great instructions but could have talked a little slower, and it looks good but it's just entirely way too heavy! The whole thing can be made with 3/4 plywood and feet can be added to make it more fancy
How long did it take you to build it?
@@austinrayfuller It doesn't take long at all, after work I spent a hour every day on it and had it done in a week,I wasn't in a hurry, my back was hurting from a injury,
I have a mitre saw so cutting the 2 by lumber was easy and quick,, now instead of making all those pocket holes I just screwed boards together with screws and held together with scrap wood as a brace
If I wanted a more professional look, would I just have to sand each outword facing surface after assembly but before painting? I noticed chips in the 2x4s that would drive me crazy
How much wood before cutting so i can go buy the wood uncut. and cut it at home?
What is the built height of it
How much would you say it cost you to make this
So the is it 2 x 10s or 2 x 12s?
Is the top 2 )2x12 or 2)2x10
Dude you “F”ing ROCK. Quick question what’s the big deal about passing all material through plainer? I don’t get it? Is it necessary?
Nice video!! Do you plans available.
Thank you! Yes, a full cut list and materials used is in the video description
If you are going to do this build, craig has not done enough fact checking on his work. First off you dont need 14 2 x 4 as the cheeck list says. You need 12. Secondly as i put the 2 x 2 sides together they end up being wider than the base and thats as far as ive got so far in the build so double check dont just go off his cut list. Ive wasted time and $ by doing so.
Can anyone tell me about how much was the cost of the material?
what type of wood?
You’re saying 2x12 but wrote 2x10 for the top. Which should I buy?
Total cost?
I love it but I'm a little confused at 25 seconds you said you're using 2x12 for the top but on the description they both say 2x10. And at 42 seconds they look like 2x10s not 2x12s
I'm thinking of recreating this as a high boy, but I am not sure if your dimensions are what I'm looking for. What are the fully assembled dimensions, including height and depth of shelves?
What kind of wood did you use 🤔 pressure treated pine?
TV stand dimensions are 75" wide, 18.5" deep, & 25.5" tall. Sound bar opening is 6" tall x 69" wide & each shelve is 6" tall x 22" wide. Wood is normal pine for affordability and you can always build with higher quality wood, but I wouldn't recommend pressure treated for inside furniture (typically needs 6 months to dry out).
@Build It Better wow, thank you so much. I can't wait to get started. You do such beautiful work. One last question. Are all the shelves the same depth?
Anyone knows the approximate cost for materials in CAD? Tks
My
2x4's were $75
2x10 was $25
Plywood is about 30, 40, 50 for each but i got then free from a friend
Paint is maybe 40 or less
Plus wood glue and kreg screws maybe $30
2x2 are like $8 each i think
Your build sheet is a little off. You have (2) 2’x10”x8’ listed and in the video you use (2) 2’x12”x8’ just wanted to point that out. I love your design and I’m in the process of using it for my entertainment center.
Can I buy this from you?
Which ones to use 2 by 10 or 2 by 12? The description says 2 by 10
Have you figured it out? I have the same question.
@@raunbeard2934 it's 2/10
Why did you stop doing uploads. I really like these builds 😔
How much did this cost!?!?
What was the total cost to build?
So I'm building it now just the wood from the order list is like $180. With the pocket hole jig and screw kit it was like $220
Lumber prices vary but you don't have to buy it all at once, you can add weekly
Bought 300$
$180. You do not need all of these tools mentioned. Practice free handing on a smaller piece of wood before you start on your project, doors and face plate can be a more thinner piece of wood. He had a designer wood for his interior.
Can you make me one but with wheels.
I'm confused, are the tops 2×10 or 2×12's ?
The top is 2x10’s. The cut list in the video description is correct
I thought the same thing. Good to know that’s the only question I had with the directions. Everything else is spot on nice step by step instructions.
I'm sure someone already said something but the first cuts he says 2 x 12 I'm assuming he meant 2 x 10
What kind of wood?
Hardwood
Call me anytime your ready
55inch tv.... height wide deth measurement bro
I will purchase this from you, eyes closed.
How are the 5 2x4s not as wide as the 2 2x10s..? The math doesn’t add up there
Drink every time he says pocket jig
Has anyone asked the cost to build it? I am guessing $80-$90 + tools
Really? I’m trying to calculate it and it’s around $250
Could someone scale this down for a 40” tv lol
Want this but I can't justify cost of materials this is like a 500 dollar build with wood prices these days
lol. Just tried watching it a 2nd time. I know its my bad but it is so painful hearing you say "pocket jig holes" and "pocket jig screws" BTW, not trolling you. You did a phenomenal job with minimal tools. I have a ton of expensive tools and you did a way better job than I would.
Thanks for the feedback! I’m working on doing better voiceovers
You use a pocket hole jig, to make pocket holes. They are not called pocket jig holes.
You said 2x12 but your list says 2x10’s
