I approached it like oil painting, there will be another style of test coming, I want to figure out what is the best way to use this medium and share it with everyone.
It works well on watercolor because I want to push the test to a higher limit, that's why I use canvas, also I want to see how it would look like to use it like working on an oil painting. I have figured out the character of this medium, it will be more fun and excitement for the next one even with the same approach. There will be more tests coming and different approaches with the medium to share them with you.
This time i am honestly dissapointed by the result... It seems like this liquid charcoal technic requieres a big effort an lot of time for a decent result...which is not woth it
Actually, I like the experiment, even though it is not the best painting I have painted, but I have found out the character of it, and the next one would be much better, just like testing the water before really jumping into the pool. This is a painterly approach, only using the liquid charcoal, no dry medium, and the surface is canvas, it doesn't absorb water, I am pushing it to the limit. This is my first time really using the medium, it is a test, I was looking for a great result of the subject, the purpose was to test out what it can offer, if the result can come over great, it would be a plus. So far I like the medium, I still think there is a huge potential to do something amazing. Cheers.
