@@Inho6693 Yes. Sadly, he died in 2016 at his home in the UK. I believe he was either 52 or 53. The cause of death given at the time was liver disease and heart issues. That leads me to believe he had fatty liver disease which led to cirrhosis, which can lead to congestive heart failure. That can happen very quickly. My mother had stage 3 fatty liver disease and then a matter of a couple of months later, she had non-alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver. When that became advanced, the fluid that accompanies liver failure caused congestive heart failure and she passed in days. She was 75 but it was unexpected. She died just over a month ago, and I remember when they told us what was happening and that she could not recover, I thought of George Michael because he had the same issues. At least that's how I remember it. Maybe I just wanted a way to connect my mother with George Michael, since she and I were massive fans of him as a solo artist and as the lead singer of Wham! I remember being 8 or 9 when Wham!'s first album came out in 1984. I loved it then, and I love it now. I remember thinking even as a child that he was so incredibly handsome, and that had the whitest teeth I'd ever seen lol. Dental standards were much different back then and even actors and models didn't usually have perfect, bright white teeth like his. He was, looking back, probably my first crush. I don't think I even noticed boys before that and I'd never had a crush on a famous person prior to that. Such a sad end for such a brilliantly talented, and by all accounts kind, man.
It gives me a greater appreciation for George Michael, seeing him arrange his own part like that. He immediately knew how his voice could serve the song in the best way possible.
It's always funny to me how people find this extraordinary! They're so used to hear auto-tuned voices and artists who barely ever sing! Knowing your vocal range and arrange vocal melodies is a basic thing for any real musical artist! George was very talented!
@@nyc4233 - I never said I found it "extraordinary". However I have a degree in music with a double major in Composition and Music Performance and I can tell you that knowing your vocal range is one thing but contrary to what you said no, not every singer can "arrange vocal melodies". In fact a lot of talented singers (both current and older) can't even sing harmony on their own without first being taught the harmony by someone else. It's one thing to possess a naturally beautiful singing voice or to have taught yourself how to play an instrument by rote but it's quite another to have the knowledge in music theory to support those abilities. Also not everyone is born with perfect pitch or a natural ear for music. It's most definitely not a "basic thing". I'm not overly familiar with George Michael or his background in music so yes, watching this clip did give me a greater appreciation for his talent because not everyone can do what he did on the spot like that with a piece of music they've only just heard.
@@SoulShines4Music I never said all artists, I said "real musical artists" Also G. Michael regularly took singing lessons. He had a vocal coach! He was constantly working on his craft as a composer and singing abilities

Not to be rude and not to say George wasn’t a huge talent - but who do you consider his peers? Annie Lennox, Michael Jackson, Sting, Boy George, Peter Gabriel…
He always knew exactly what he wanted musically. Darkchild, the producer who did the Whitney Houston duet once told that George wanted to change the melodies of the song. It wasn't the easiest session, but that just shows how dedicated George was and how he was perfecting things till he thought it was right.
So beautiful in his looks and vocals. Him & Whitney Houston got crazy partying near the end of her life and I think it changed him dramatically. RIP both of you. Many similarities in their lives. 🏆
He sang Praying for Time as a guest on an American Idol episode. With his commanding presence on stage, his voice took the entire audience to a higher level of consciousness, to the point where Paula Abdul was crying. That right there is a star!

Not only did he sing beautifully, he knew the meaning behind those lyrics and was close to tears. George, (YOG) truly cared and secretly helped a lot of people. He didn't brag or speak of his philanthropic work, and it's that that displays his true heart. RIP George, one of, if not the greatest singer/songwriters of our time. ❤
Just off the cuff he makes it so much better.
George was one of the greatest vocalists ever! Period. Enough said. R.I.P. ❤
I wholeheartedly agree! 👏
FREDDIE MERCURY WAS WAY BETTER EVEN GEORGE SAID THAT MERCURY WAS UNIQUE
@alecjohnson5269 What's comparing George with Freddie got to do with anything.? What a stupid, heartless comment.
Pavarotti better than Freddie. Idiot!
Calm down matey. Free hearing test in Boots chemist. 😂
@@THE-OBOTSHow sad that there were two incredibly talented voices silenced by a disease ignored by President Regan…..tens of thousands left to suffer and die.
No autotune, just talent
Just talent, no hard work. FO
were you there?> no. so stop making out you know what was used ..
@@LdevArt Autotune wasn't even invented back in '84! So, stop making out you know anything at all.

Thank you George for your incredible legacy. 💙💙💙RIP.
He was a wonderful singer and a very kind and generous man, a piece of him he kept hidden until after his death.
Yet so many scrutinized him for his sexual dealings, he was an amazing human. A rare breed an those who Judge him on just his orientation really missed out on a stellar talent an soul. Miss him. 😢

I totally agree with that 🎶 statement. People wanted to see the bad before the greatness in this one of a kind gent. But, He got back in the game and sat with one of the night time guys, I think it was Letterman, and when they brought up the "incident" he just seemed so happy that he no longer had to hide something from the World. I could care less about his sexuality. I'm glad he made jokes about from that point on. I absolutely adore George Michael. He was, and continues to be one of the most influential singers of our time. 🙏❤️🙏🎶 🎶 🎶
George Michael had such a beautiful voice. There is something so angelic yet breezy about his tone and inflections. Miss him.
I'm a metalhead (also love classical music) and have always said he's my favourite male vocalist. His ability to put the amount of breath into his lines whilst remaining powerful for the length of some of the lines is unmatched to my ears 👌🤘
Idk why, but I thought angelic also when I first watched this clip.
George was an absolutely golden singer. miss him.
Jesus... I didn't know he passed
He just made the line perfect
To be gifted with an amazing voice and yet remain humble and have a conscience…. there won’t be many like George..RIP❤
A superb voice and a great talent. He's sorely missed.
80s stars were pure talent
Even Mili Vanili?
And black lace….
Aga bloody doo
Oh my goodness! That was always my very favorite part of the song! Oh, George, I miss you 😢
Same! ❤
Same! And I'm sure it wouldn't have been so impactful if Michael hadn't suggested those changes. What a talent.
@@katmc8587Exactly, it was the bridge line to accompany the power of Phil C coming in with the drums. He nailed it.
One of the best voices..just the perfect clarity he achieves singing at a higher register
@@nyc4233 you know nothing so stop talking and get a job.
It's such a shame he's gone. Im glad I grew up through the 80's
Same here. I remember many of his songs. R.I.P Mr. Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou

What a beautiful face he had, in the 80s all of his songs were popular in the clubs, those were the days my friend. Rip beautiful George ❤️🤩
I love ❤️ that guy..
That voice...
That charm...
Omg !!!!
I mean the guy is just a legend in every way
💯
OMG what a freaking talented man
I love George Michael, always have. And it was terrible what the industry giants did to him...a waste of his talent when we could have had more beautiful music from him.
RIP❤❤
He could be doing all that now. But he checked out early.
I miss George’s talent and perseverance so much. I was so sad when I heard of his death. Such an amazing voice. I have a number of his songs on my playlist. RIP George. 🙏♥️😢
George was soooo beautiful❤😢 2016 became his Last Christmas😭
_Hard to believe he has been dead nearly 10 years! RIP George._
😢
One of the greatest voices of all time. Is sorely missed. 😢
I miss him. I grew up with his music in the 80's. When I leave this world, I can't wait to see him in heaven
What makes you think you're going to heaven ?
@peterah7957 if she believes that God sent his Son, and that he rose again. That he takes away sin, then yes, she can be assured she's going to Heaven.
And him making those little changes, it all seemed so effortless. What talent.
THATS WHY HE WROTE GREAT SONGS WHEN HE WAS IN WHAM AND HE WENT SOLO JUST TRULY MISSED LOVE AND MISS GEORGE..❤❤❤❤ i still have a crush on him ❤❤❤
His voice is from the angelic realm ❤
Totally!❤😇
What a voice !!
It's amazing George participated in this legendary project and then a month later his iconic "Last Christmas" song was released and became an instant holiday classic 🎄🎅
Oh my God. The most beautiful and pristine voice in the world. He was so natural he knew what he was doing with his voice. God bless you wherever you are George!
I’m so thankful, this was my era, I absolutely loved the 80s.
Absolute GOAT with the highest voice quality in history
Oh my God. He literally took my breath away 😢
Mine too. His voice was absolute perfection.
He simply perfomed his part absolutely perfect. Sir George Michael forever
Such a beautiful voice. Truly Iconic. ❤
George Michael. Handsome man, beautiful voice, RIP Legend!
'Do They Know It's Christmas' will always be that song. Miss you, George ❤
I still get shivers listening to his voice as he sings. George displayed such a beautiful strong voice. All his life he had such a generous heart and spirit. Grief for him is like that for a family member- still miss him.❤
So sad we don’t have his amazing presence anymore he was such a natural good person
He was way ahead of his peers. So so missed.❤
Not to be rude and not to say George wasn’t a huge talent - but who do you consider his peers? Annie Lennox, Michael Jackson, Sting, Boy George, Peter Gabriel…
A true artist. We've lost too many! RIP
True! So many pure voices. Those times will never be…
Love u always George
He always knew exactly what he wanted musically. Darkchild, the producer who did the Whitney Houston duet once told that George wanted to change the melodies of the song. It wasn't the easiest session, but that just shows how dedicated George was and how he was perfecting things till he thought it was right.
Do you want have a bash at it? He knocked it out of the park. Fabulous George. Miss him ❤️
So beautiful in his looks and vocals. Him & Whitney Houston got crazy partying near the end of her life and I think it changed him dramatically. RIP both of you. Many similarities in their lives. 🏆
Him got crazy partying? No He got crazy partying. He and Whitney ...

Always loved him. Sad he is gone. So gorgeous. Such a beautiful singer. Loved everything he sang.
Beautiful man with an amazing voice and talent, RIP, we will forever love you Michael❤❤
He was a true talent.. ❤️
yea when he wasnt playing with his trouser snack in public bathrooms .
He sang Praying for Time as a guest on an American Idol episode. With his commanding presence on stage, his voice took the entire audience to a higher level of consciousness, to the point where Paula Abdul was crying. That right there is a star!
Какой бархатный голос у Джорджа. Чудо.👏🌹
Amazing that the diction change once he sings! Missing George Michael😥 such a great talent
