Good choice of engine 320 from the factory though they are Mazda derived. 500+ is not difficult, Rods, pistons, turbo, intercooler, liner reinforcement plate, set of injectors and a mapping session on the original ecu. Doing it yourself £3000 + the mapping.
Same power with a YB and you've spent 7k doing it yourself + machining and electronics.

Not slagging the Escort i love them but dont be racing bigger bikes unless you have minimal 600bhp and even that would need to be in a light car. A near 20yr old 5vy R1 with stage1 mods he said cost £3k (bike done over 200 no problem) utterly humiliated a Plaid S we were in it at Crail. Nobody expected it but it beat everything even 900bhp tuned TurboS. Yeah be wary of good riders on tuned motorbikes, they dont let you jump them to even get a head start on them.
