- My Vespa Rally 200 has an overheating problem. In this video, lets crack into the engine to see where the air leaks are.
I believe my problems stem from all of the corrosion on the original crankshaft. even though I replaced all of the seals during the first rebuild a few years ago, they could not seal properly on the pitted surface of the crank shaft. This is also evident in the rising "water lines" inside the crankcase, which is actually from gasoline leaking past the clutch side seal, and collecting in the transmission oil.
I have a pretty good idea of what modifications I want to do with this engine. At the very least, it is getting a new crankshaft and piston. If you have any recommendations, let me know in the comments!
