- My friend Dalany and I headed out to Italy to ride Tuscany Trail 2019, an off-road endurance/bikepacking event from Massa to Capalbio taking in gravel road, strade bianche, footpaths, mountain bike trails and some tarmac. It was hot tough fun, with at least 8 hours riding every day and some very tough climbs. It's surely got to be one of (if not the) best bikepacking event in the world.

I lived on the mountains overlooking Lucca for ten years. It's a wonderful area for cycling.

Hi Juliet,
I love your videos, do you have one about gear and preparation for the Tuscany trail? I have to do this next year.
Thanks in advance.! 🚴
Thank you! I honestly can't remember! Sorry, probably have a little dig around on the channel. Have fun!
@@JulietElliottsChannel thanks for your reply, I will take a look.
Question, do you think a mountain bike is a good choice the Tuscany trail or something lighter would work better?
Cheers
Wow that's an epic ride can't wait to see more it looks really nice but also very hard well done
There were so INCREDIBLY hard parts, where we were wondering what on earth we were doing! But so worth it.
Wow it definitely looks like one to add to the bucket list of things to do :)
Looks amazing! What a cool event.
Well done - nice vid ;)
Tuscany Trail has been just an EPIC Event 🤩🤩 I enjoyed riding from Massa to Capalbio so much.
Can also rember you and your friend chit chatting all the time when I saw you on the bike.
Greetings from Germany
Michael
Hey Michael! It really was the BEST. And oh yeah, Dalany and I basically never shut up 🤣
So jealous, be safe and enjoy.
Looks like fun.
I’d love to know what smiths you are wearing!?!? They look like they would transition well between sun and shade!
I thought there was a part 2 already, i even watched the advert 😃😳
What did you do with your bike box after arriving
The ride looks amazing so far! Looking forward to the next few videos 😁 Quick question, is your helmet the Smith Route?
when is it ever too early for an ice cream juliet >
?
Especially Italian gelato!
In normal life, never, but when I'm riding a lot I have to be a bit more careful with dairy products as they can make me feel sick when I exert myself
Never early for ice cream!!!!

Hi what places did you stay at just trying to plan #2020 I.e. how far apart
We looked for places about 150km apart. It depends how far you want to go each day. After we finished (in 3.5 days) I spent the rest of the week in the area and we saw people arriving for the whole of the rest of the week. Some people just took their time and had a holiday
@@JulietElliottsChannel sorry didnt see the reply
Did you pre book or just on the fly
What cameras/equipment are you using while you're out on these multi-day adventures? Sorry if you've already touched on this somewhere else. Thanks!
Hi, I have lots of different stuff so it depends on the trip. I took a Canon GX7 on this trip. It's now basically falling apart...
Hey saw you at the track on Sunday I was the one with the red bmx
Hi Juliet. Could you tell me how you got to Massa? Seems to be away from most airports.
Thanks
It's pretty close to Pisa. We caught a train from there
do you have horizontal or vertical signs to guide or do you use cyclocomputer with the route to go ?
no signs, it's self navigated. I used a bike computer with the route uploaded
@@JulietElliottsChannel thanks for the feedback
Doing it this year...2023. Almost 5,000 participants now.
enjoy. It's fantastic
How did you get the cycling medical certificate?
Through my doctor
First!
I love to be greeted with one of your "MORNings" nice and sharply.
@@lahyessam9725 No. We're Not!
Juliet - I’m not an experienced cyclist but have agreed to join a charity group to do the Tuscany Trail in 2024. Any training tips would be greatly appricated! I’m riding an e gravel bike (Specialized Creo)
very nice, but remember to check for ticks at the end of each day. lyme disease is no joke.
Too early for ice cream, NVAR!
Normally, no, but I have to be a bit careful what I eat when I'm riding or I get nauseous
I've just found out that you were the girl who made the first downhill with me! Nice descent, a girl who knows how to ride, lovely blond hair and tattoos. It made Toscana look even prettier. 🤟🏼
She's way too pretty for tattoos. Ugh.
Dziewczyna jak marzenie;)
