Thank you so much for taking us on this ride around Lake Como Juliet.Things here Melbourne Australia are pretty grim in stage 4 lockdown(confined to your home only allowed out for essentials and 2hours within 5km of your home) Seeing your video was such welcome relief.
Lake Garda is just as beautiful and there a lovely road route around the lake and another longer route that’s in the mountains but with epic views of the lake.
I'm from Italy and well, I'll suggest Lake of Garda. Although I don't live there I go often for the weekends and it's great. Nice cities, the lake is amazing and by bike is even better!!
Amazing footage! Biscuits and cheesy crisps? The food of champions! (and ice cream ;). Thanks for the important research on dressing for winter in 27c temps 😎
3:45 that's "fette biscottate" i guess, we usually spread jam on them! After three years abroad I miss italian biscuits so much, they are so hard to find outside the country :(
Best video yet Juliet I am going over for 11 days for the Giro cannot wait 👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻🏴🚴🏻♂️🚴🏻♂️🚴🏻♂️🚴🏻♂️🚴🏻♂️🚴🏻♂️🚴🏻♂️🚴🏻♂️🏴🏴🏴🇮🇹🇮🇹
Hi Juliet, it so nice to see you were in Como Lake just a few days ago. I live in Milan so I can go to the lake quite often to enjoy fantastic cicling tours around it. Next time you go to Varenna dont' forget to ride the famous scenery route 65 from Perledo and Esino Lario, crossing the Agueglio Pass !! I hope to meet you over there ! Ciao
I live 30km from lake Como and when we go cycling every Sunday we always seem to find ourselves stopping for coffee and cakes there. Yes l recognized all those roads u were on and there are many more the other side of the lake and much harder climbs too. See u there next time.
Morning! Beautiful views. Italy looks like a place that one could suffer from "Paradox of Choice" in that there are so many beautiful places to visit that it would be hard to choose.
Beautiful ride! Varenna is our favorite place in the whole world. We’ve been twice, and took the kids there for the first time last year. Seeing them swim in the lake was one of the highlights of my life. I’ve been looking, and I would like to investigate the possibility of a retirement apartment in Perledo. Just a simple two bedroom at most. Stuff is cheap now, and it’s probably just a pipe dream, but what was it like to live there? I was only up there once, but it seems perfect to me. Quiet and away from the crowds.
Oh man, I shot a wedding at Villa D’Este there in town of Cernobbio. Loved that town. We explored the lake via scooter. So great. What a beautiful place... i can hear the bells in your video! Nope, nowhere nicer. Great video, good way to see it. We scootered to swiss border one day up those danged roads you biked!
what a well done video...I have friends who live and ride in that area, and I have had the good fortune to ride with them (i.e., they show me around). Your video really gives a good look at a most beautiful cycling paradise. Thanks for posting....
Check out lake Bohinj just north of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It's the most fantastic lake to swim in and the mountains that surround it are stunning.
Been last year at beginning of August on Como and Garda. Como had lots of tourists but I would not call it crowded while Garda was full of people. Also that weather is crazy, especially when you start climbing up high. Starting in winter shorts even in summer might be ok when after hour or two temperature drops from 30C to 11C with rain and hail.... ah, good memories.
As always you are adorable.... even when cooked well done in winter bibs 🤪🤪🤣🤣Yup, lake garda has been on my list for a long time...but thanks to COVID my vacation to Norway was put on hold....I will get to Garda!
we live at lake Como for quit some time now and we do swim in it each year from mid May until end of August.... and we love it.. important is however to finding the right spots... 😀
Love Italy and it's quirks. The biscuits are amazing, but never come across the breakfast biscuit thing. A Cornetto and a coffee seems the norm if you are out and about. E molte buono :)
How could you and Dave ever leave VARENNA? My family and I stayed in Varenna for almost a week a few years ago, and we absolutely fell in love with it! I didn't want to return to the U.S.!
Toscolano Maderno...... Lake Garda. Definitely September as the road is busy and narrow in places although lot of cyclists are brave enough to do it 🚲💪. There is a tiny harbour that few know about near the church, great place for a swim 🏊♀️. Shhhhssss 🤫 don't tell anyone else about this spot 😉😊. Great video thanks .
Just take scissors and cut the long trousers to shorts. Despite its a fashion video- more casual fashion on the bike! Great choice of music, was really laughing because my girlfried from italy was seeing this and only smiling, its just funny. La colazione en Italia is not the best start in the day to for a long ride or a long climb in the mountains but they feed you with that.
As an avid rider myself, I laughed at your comments in regards to 27° C as being hot! 🤣 Try riding in Phoenix, Arizona (U.S.), when the temp is 40°c. 🥵. It may be a dry heat, but with plenty of water on my ride, and a pool at home after is what gets me out there!
Hi julie I rode round lake como when I was 60 yrs old over 3 days fantastic ride only thing which was a bit scary was the tunnels I was there because my daughter was working for north face as a designer in Switzerland 😁😁👍👍
Nice video Juliet, I've been all round there on a bike - BMW R1200RT - Sorry ! Want to get back to Italy again and do some riding on self propelled version ;-) Love your videos !
It looks amazing there. Just got into cycling after not doing so for about 30 years. Love your videos and I get inspired from them to go riding. Wish me luck
Just had an epic week (5/9/20-12/9/20)of cycling in Lake Como based in Cernobbio 350 miles across the week 29 degrees beautiful place lovely house for the six of us mega rides lots of nice food, we loved it, And we swam in lake como most days and once in lake Lugano just in our bibshorts back in the bikes and dry in 20 minutes
Fantastic video - top notch stuff! I would like to know what app are you using that alerts you to public water fountains - that's a great feature (especially during times of COVID, a lot of fountains in California are shut down but not all are, strangely). Can you recommend the app?
Lake Como. Magnafique (French?). Seen Lake snakes there which put me off swimming. Rode motorcycles 3 times now down there from Blighty. Fantastic ride. Make a week/10 day holiday out of it. Mandello Del Lario, home to Moto Guzzi since 1921, on the shores of... Lake Como...
Hi Juliet! First, thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge. I'live in buenos aires, argentina. With my wife we are thinking of taking a trip to Europe ... but different. Making small bike tours through the best places in different countries. Do you recommend buying a pair of Gravel bikes in our first destination or seeing to rent them in each city? Thank you again. Keep pedaling and sharing. Kind regards Walt and Gaby!
I loved lake Como when I went there for my honeymoon we hired a boat from bellagio for the day and drank prosecco and jumped in the lake of the boat, And had the most memorable of meals on isola comacina.
Thank you so much for taking us on this ride around Lake Como Juliet.Things here Melbourne Australia are pretty grim in stage 4 lockdown(confined to your home only allowed out for essentials and 2hours within 5km of your home) Seeing your video was such welcome relief.

Your attitude and free spirit is inspiring!
Lake Garda is just as beautiful and there a lovely road route around the lake and another longer route that’s in the mountains but with epic views of the lake.
Sounds ideal. Good mountain biking too (I hear)
Juliet Elliott yep take the Gondala up from Malcesine and there are some great routes back down to the lakes 😁
I'm from Italy and well, I'll suggest Lake of Garda. Although I don't live there I go often for the weekends and it's great. Nice cities, the lake is amazing and by bike is even better!!
Thanks Juliet my home place, how many time on the same route. Tears from my eyes
Lake Como is gorgeous!
You are blessed to ride in such a beautiful place.
Yes I am!
Amazing footage! Biscuits and cheesy crisps? The food of champions! (and ice cream ;). Thanks for the important research on dressing for winter in 27c temps 😎

Thank you to take us on These awsome tripp
3:45 that's "fette biscottate" i guess, we usually spread jam on them! After three years abroad I miss italian biscuits so much, they are so hard to find outside the country :(
Love Italy! Nice bike! September is the best time to be in South of Europe, no tourists!

In Bellagio 12 months ago, so jealous, but loved seeing the area again through your eyes , Grazie molto from Australia
nice video, thank you. We just came from a Lake Como cycling trip, it was a pleasure to see some of the places we've liked in your video also.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Lake Como is nutty beautiful. Top of my list of places visited.

This year september is like summer here in Italy, but it is not always like this year, usually it is raining and less warm
This is my dream! You inspire me to keep working to take me on a tour.
😘😘😘😘 greetings from Milano! Welcome to Italy, hope you enjoy🤗🤗
"Winter" in Italy... Lovely.
Check out lake Bohinj just north of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It's the most fantastic lake to swim in and the mountains that surround it are stunning.

Wow nice. Stayed in Varenna 3 years ago. Looking to go back to Como, or Riva del Garda next year...so much to stop and see along Como.
It was nice to see you cycling in Italy. Greetings from Friuli.
Check out Lake Annecy. Awesome swimming paddle boarding and cycling and never to far from a tour stage or two in summer which is always a bonus
Looks great!
Very beautiful place to ride definitely. You prolly should come to Porto and ride along the Douro river during the sunny days, amazing too!
Been last year at beginning of August on Como and Garda. Como had lots of tourists but I would not call it crowded while Garda was full of people. Great. I have been to Lake Como, beautiful place
Had my 50th birthday in Como. Had a week riding there. Some epic riding, the climb of the ghisallo. Mendrisio across the border is good.
Lovely part of the world! I was there a few years ago, it was 40° at the time, too hot to walk about in, let alone ride a bike. Great video!
Love lake como. Dolomites are so nice. Lake Lugano too went there this summer on Swiss side
we live at lake Como for quit some time now and we do swim in it each year from mid May until end of August.... and we love it.. important is however to finding the right spots... 😀

And we could swim! 🤙🏽
Love your video's but the last few have been really great.
Thanks John, I've been lucky enough to go on some great rides
Love Italy and it's quirks. The biscuits are amazing, but never come across the breakfast biscuit thing. A Cornetto and a coffee seems the norm if you are out and about. E molte buono :)

How could you and Dave ever leave VARENNA? My family and I stayed in Varenna for almost a week a few years ago, and we absolutely fell in love with it! I didn't want to return to the U.S.!
I partially did the route on Rouvy, they only have the route going uphill. It's a pretty area!
Peschiera lake garda is great for camping, especially the Eurocamp site there. Great pool and kids entertainment.
Toscolano Maderno...... Lake Garda. Definitely September as the road is busy and narrow in places although lot of cyclists are brave enough to do it 🚲💪.

Think he has 2 homes out there

I have been a Lake Garda, it looks nearly the same. It's definitely worth a trip. :)
