I avoid the weekends now. Local trails around here normally very few people, now packed with walkers. After dark it is fine though for night riding. Glad I have some spiked ice tyres for the cold nights. Hoping to get out tomorrow night on the A roads. If leave until after 10pm, the people racing around in their cars shopping for pints of milk and for takeaways suddenly dries up. And at weekend the trucks vanish - as they have to get paid overtime so most employers let them rest. This weekend looks like it will be warm enough here for my usual MTB with no spikes on.

The Templer Way from Newton Abbot down to Shaldon is right next to the river Teign. It is tidal so check the times. If you really really wanted to you may be able to get a bike up as far as Coombe Cellars, the foreshore is mostly soft gravelly beach. Beyond it gets muddy, too muddy for a bike in many places, until you get to the bypass. The road out of Buckland towards the sewage works and then lanes down to Shaldon are good.

So happy to see your smiling face this morning! Quick question. When I watch your videos, I am blown away by the beauty of the landscape. Often, it looks like you are riding in huge open areas with cows and horses. Are these privately owned areas or public areas? In England, are people generally tolerant and polite if you are riding through their property as long as you are being kind back? I know this is a bizarre question... I'm just curious. Here in California, we have so many beautiful spots, but often times, if you accidentally ride onto private property, somebody will pull up in a huge truck and cuss you out.We have even had property owners pull guns on us (ugh the USA right??) Just curious! Hope you you and your family are well and safe!
