It's wild to me how many cars don't get out of the way for emergency vehicles with flashing lights and sirens blairing. This video stands out for that. As for the bad guys that get chased, they do not care who they hurt or kill as long as they get away, which they very rarely ever do.
Yes, but you have to remember how fast those cars are traveling. They’re at least doing an excess of 70,80 maybe even 100 mile an hour. Just imagine how quick that vehicle comes up on you and you need to make a split second decision.

So I’m trying to understand the officers thoughts when the suspect was in the ditch why he didn’t run right upon his vehicle pinning the vehicle to a non-moving position 😮. Instead, he let him take off putting more lives at risk.
It always blows my mind how people put everyone at risk by driving on the wrong side of the road! That is one of the scariest and they don't care about who gets hurt.
Do you mean the way that law-enforcement will give Chase to just about any vehicle. The countless lives that a cop will put in danger over a simple or minor traffic in fraction. They will fly through traffic chasing somebody with absolutely no need to do so. Law-enforcement endanger way more lives than criminals do. That’s just a plain fact. Law-enforcement is and always will be way more dangerous and problematic to public safety than any criminal ever thought of being.
@@johnh8197 must be coming from a criminal. The idiots wouldn't run if it was just "a minor traffic infraction". Twice in the first 9 minutes he failed to stop this car when he had a clear opportunity to do so. Once he was in a ditch and he didn't pull his car up against him to keep the car in the ditch the second time he's turning wide to turn around all he had to do was push the car off the road. I'm confused. The above synopsis states "During an internal review of the pursuit, the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office found no violation of policy." Yet in the news conference video, the Sheriff states that Deputy Carter was terminated for "egregious violations of policy". So, which one is it, or is the Sheriff one of the multitude of high-ranking/Executive level armchair LEO's infecting the ranks that hasn't signed out a patrol car and answered radio calls since Obama was President, and who's opinion is determined by the way the public relations policy winds are blowing.....I sincerely hope the typo (if it is a typo) is corrected, or the Sheriff grows a backbone and starts backing her deputies.
Might be on the body cam video. I haven’t watched it yet, but news stories claim he assaulted the suspect during apprehending him. Edit: yeah, need to watch the body cam footage. Pretty clear why FORMER deputy Carter was terminated. 🤦♂️ I’ll support LEO’s all day long, but that guy doesn’t need to wear a badge.
Pursuit itself looked clean with some pretty good driving and well commentated on so assume no breach of policy there. Perhaps no PIT allowances here or some other reason as to why unable to stop sooner (also no units to deploy spikes etc etc). Watched the assault video and it appears definitely excessive as the perp looked compliant. However, if he WAS reaching down to waistband, well I've seen a lot of shootings turn out not good, so if that is proven, then yeah you could fear being shot. Conversely it sounds as though this Dep has a bit of unfavourable history. Be interesting to see the outcome. Side note - does this need to be such a political comment?
Chasing a SUV isn't difficult to keep up with in a saloon vehicle, SUV'S and trucks are top heavy and are unstable on corners and bends, so have a need to slow down or flip the vehicle over. At speed the flip will cause a rolling situation and possible injury or death to the driver. Any vehicle where the weight is greater on top past the central point, will be liable to roll in bends or corners if going to fast.
