A MUST-listen-to track! ABC-TV used this as their on-air jingle in the mid-late 70's (when they were #1 in the ratings with shows like "Happy Days", "Charlie's Angels", "Mork & Mindy", etc.).
This is Mine & My Husband's Song. Every time he hears it when I'm near, no matter where we're at, he stops everything he's doing and Swings Me around and dances with Me.
The picture of the album came up on my Yacht Rock playlist - and I can totally see them hanging around the bar calling up ladies on their list. You would think the one on the left would be England Dan, but it's the other one.
@Russell Reeves Love Takes Time is the first song I used some of the lyrics while "wooing" a girl back in the '70s. "I saw a twinkle in your eyes, it lit a fire deep inside". LOL
Another great song, similar to this one, is Diamond Girl by Seals and Croft. Another great one by Seals and Croft is Summer Breeze. Love you man! Love this channel! Rock on, my brutha!
Midnight Special was a once in a lifetime show, it had everyone, there will never again be another show like this, thanks for doing these videos, it makes me feel like a teenager again...take care.
John Hall, a former congressman, was their guitarist. His solo project, The John Hall Band, had a great song called "Crazy (Keep on Falling in Love)". It has is one of my favorite bridges of all time. Check it out. You'll be glad you did, and as an added bonus, the early 80s video cliches run rampant through it.
I was a teenager when this came out. I used to dance with with my daughters when they were very young to this song. It was the father and bride dance when my oldest daughter got married.
I always thought this song was underrated. Smooth, sweet and calling for a loving embrace while moving your feet slowly to the music. A lover's song. Thanks again for digging up another memory. You are the best reactor I've watched. Keep great music alive.
"The tube" was part of an instrument called a Melodica, which is a reed instrument that's kind of like a cross between a harmonica and a miniature pump organ. You blow into the tube, and when you press one of the keys, it opens up a hole that lets the air blow over that key's reed as it escapes, which makes the sound. It's not the most common instrument in rock or pop music, but it does turn up from time to time; Steely Dan used it on at least two songs on their "Gaucho" album ("Hey Nineteen" and "Babylon Sisters"), The Hooters used it frequently in a lot of their songs, and Oasis used it on "Champagne Supernova", just for examples.
A good friend of mine growing up had a family member in this band. My friend died when he was just a teen. So i always think of him when i hear this awesome song... memories.
My brother would play this for me when I was a kid. He was 17 years older than me and had this record. I would knock on his door and he would sit me up in his bed and give me his contraband of hidden Snyder pretzels from the tin he hid in his room. I was 4-5 years old. We would listen to music together for hours. He passed away suddenly in 2014. I miss him terribly. But whenever I hear this song it makes me think of him and smile. 😊. Thank you.
Look at this people. Recorded live, harmonies, arrangement, performance = real music! Doing it right because they care about it. And none of these in-ear monitor gizmos. They are listening to each other and singing (and playing) in beautiful harmony. That tube was for the melodica Jamal! These were the best times in music.
This is one of those songs that could be released in any decade and be a hit. Their other song "Still the One" is also great. For a similar sound, check out Firefall - "Just Remember I Love You" and "You Are the Woman"
Just wanted to say Hi and thank you for the videos. I saw the first one from you about a month ago and have enjoyed them so much. Keep on Brother and thanks!
Didn't play it at my wedding, but I did ask a girl to prom by singing it to her in the main hallway in high school. Thanks for bringing back a good memory. By the way, she said yes.
Another of my all-time favorites. The beat, the harmonies, the lyrics: I just love it all, and have to harmonize with them and shake my hips and move my feet. So sweet. Pretty sure our DJ played this at our reception, along with many other essentials.
I used to daydream to this song hen I was “boy crazy” and just wanted someone to fall in love with me. This song to me was just so romantic and sweet. 💕
This song is one I tend to hear on the radio even today, usually while on the road after midnight in the boonies watching the signs and old billboards whip by as the Moon casts its eerie glow on the fields.
This song is so sweet, from way back when. I never saw their faces all together like that. I think a lot of us never knew what they looked like, but we just got off on that song. It is sometimes cool when you don't know what the singers of the old songs looked like! A little cool blast from the blast!
I love this song... the harmonies, the smoothness.... but omg the nurse in me wants to scream "CLEAN THAT TUBE!" every time I see Larry Hoppen play that melodica!
Great memories of my innocent youth with this song 🎵. Had to check...& I still have a necklace with a charm in the shape of a gold record...one side is titled with this song; the other with "best of my love" (another band & great song). TFS fond memories for me!
"Still the One" is another good one by Orleans, even better is a song by John Hall (the leader of Orleans) named "Crazy". ruclips.net/video/H3t_u0H_5S0/видео.html

Still the one that can scratch my itch, still the one that I wouldn’t switch, we’re still having fun, and you’re still the one! That is also Orleans!
YES - both are AWESOME tunes !!!
Yes Still the One is a must. They had amazing harmonies.

Love that one too!
@Adz Nevermind wym it's a great song bro
“Just Remember I Love You” by Firefall is another 70’s gem of this genre of music
Oh, hell yeah. They had a bunch of great songs.
When Dave Mason has toured over the last few years, one of the members of Firefall has been in his band and they play that song. So good.
"Strange Way" & "Cinderella" are still two of my favorites.
Yes good one!
Firefall has an entire catalog of fabulous songs! It Doesn’t Matter is another great one.
This is Mine & My Husband's Song. Every time he hears it when I'm near, no matter where we're at, he stops everything he's doing and Swings Me around and dances with Me.
That is crazy romantic,I love that! Keep that man❣
That's so cool! 👍🙂❤
Orleans, America, Firefall...beautiful '70's Top 40 music.
Have you done any England Dan and John Ford Coley Yet ? " love is the answer " or " Id really love to see you tonight ". I'm sure you would approve ❤️
"I'd really love to see you tonight" is the jam !!!!!!!!!!
It's June! You have to hear their 'Summer Breeze'!!
@@Skeezer66 wrong Seals. That’s his brother

I figured you probably already reacted to "Orleans - Still the One" but it doesn't look like it. That's another one of their big hits.
@Russell Reeves Man, thanks for reminding me of that great song. It is a good one!
Remember ABC made "Still the One" their theme song in the 70s. It became so ubiquitous.
Oh yes! such fun!
@Russell Reeves Love Takes Time is the first song I used some of the lyrics while "wooing" a girl back in the '70s. "I saw a twinkle in your eyes, it lit a fire deep inside". LOL
"Still the One" is another one to be played...yes Jamel, you were singing it there at the end!
hell yeah ..stil lthe one!
“Still the One” was always my favorite of theirs.
You are the best and most likeable reactor on RUclips Jamal. This song really takes me back years, they dont make great music like this anymore.
One of the songs that reminds me of growing up in the 70s. Always puts a smile on my face and reminds me of my mom🥰

One my favorite songs of all time. A perfect song in every way. Love the bass lines, the vocal harmonies, the guitars, everything. And the ending!
Yea!! Hello 1975! This song brings back so many memories of high school. 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶 You will love the harmonies!
Was just thinking this is high school, such a great memory :)
I played this at my wedding reception. And I got married in 2018. Timeless classic! 💙 from Texas!
The Midnight Special was so fantastic. Great to see these performances again.
That is a show I would love to see in reruns - never missed it!
Midnight Special was a once in a lifetime show, it had everyone, there will never again be another show like this, thanks for doing these videos, it makes me feel like a teenager again...take care.
Edison Lighthouse 'Love Grows' is another great 70's song.
“Love Takes Time” by Orleans. Their harmonies were incredible.
Still the one, THAT I TALK TO IN BED, still the one, THAT TURNS MY HEAD, we're still havin' funnnn, and you're still the onnnneeeeee!
Now try "Jackie Blue" by Ozark Mountain Daredevils.
OOOH, what a fantastic song!!!
Jackie Blue is a great song
Just heard it today, on yacht rock. 😁
The live version on the " Old Grey Whistle Test."
And see if Jamel thinks that's a female singing....lol

Great song. R.I.P. Larry Hoppen.
What an amazing time to grow up!! I relive my childhood every time I hear these 70’s tunes!
Same.
grew up in the mid-west in the 70s your reactions are basically of my childhood High Scholl soundtrack...Many played it at their weddings
I always thought this song was underrated. Smooth, sweet and calling for a loving embrace while moving your feet slowly to the music. A lover's song. Thanks again for digging up another memory. You are the best reactor I've watched. Keep great music alive.
Orleans was the opening act at a Jackson Browne concert I went to in the late 70s. I was really impressed with how good they were live.
ANOTHER GREAT WEDDING SONG WAS, "COULD I HAVE THIS DANCE " By ANNE MURRAY.
THANKS JAMEL! LOVE YOUR SHOW!
Definitely!!
This is my favorite from them, remember singing this with my Mom. Now you have to do
"STILL THE ONE".
Didn't realize until just now that I still know all of the lyrics after all of these years! Nice. : )

Always loved the bass in this gem.
The perfect dancing on the beach 🏖️ song
Oh my. One of my favorite 70s songs. I just went to see them in concert in 2019
Another great group from the 70s. Loved this song.
Back in the 70s, the vibe was just so undeniable. And they were such consummate musicians and vocalists. So much talent!
Easy to remember this song. Loved the singing on this... it feels like they were always harmonizing & vocalizing together. Your reaction was on-point.
How about Hall was part of Hall & Oates
@@keith63ply John Hall- Orleans. Daryl Hall and John Oates were Hall and Oates.

The "tube" portion of the song.
Didn't play it at my wedding, but I did ask a girl to prom by singing it to her in the main hallway in high school. Thanks for bringing back a good memory. By the way, she said yes.
The guitarist John Hall had his own albums, and later became a Congressman.
I used to see his “section” in the record stores when I was shopping for Hall & Oates!

Orleans made up the heart of a touring Supergroup called Rock and Pop Masters, saw them in Madison, WI. back in 2007/08 it was a great time.
