- Last week, we shared one of April Ethereal's first performances. This week, we're going to check out one of the later ones for comparison.
Taken from Opeth's show in Essen on April 1st, 2010, the band were going for it while adapting the track slightly towards their Watershed style (and lineup). It may have a few subtle changes, but it's still just as powerful a track!

Great performance! Was always curious to me as to why Fredrik played Mikael's solo on this song during this era.
I'd guess it was because it comes right after a part where Mikael is growling so it may be difficult to switch so quickly.
Im soooo happy for this My Arms Your Hearde posting lately. PERFORMANCE SOUNDS BEASTLY FROM THE START.. Do you have any When recordings besides Roundhouse Tapes. It is i guess one of the rarest which is sad..

Yes, I have many recordings of When (audio and video). I guess I can start looking at options, although it's admittedly not part of my program for the next few months! Let me see what I can put together.
@@The_KarstOf course man, there is something about that record which cant be described. The general feel, atmosphere, rawness, even mikael being sick(for the sake of clean vocals) just blended and created a very unique and beautiful record. I will always love this one.
And honestly whatever you can pull im down for it. Im sure the next performances you were planning to share will still be very precious. I would appreciate a good one ‘when’ its shared tho :D

His vocals, both clean and growls, were fantastic at this time
Personally I feel like his harshes were very bad around this time
I feel like both are not particularly bad or good, I've heard both much worse and better from him live.
His growls are pretty good here, apparently. More like 2006' growls than 2010/11' actually.
Oof, his vocals are pretty poor here. Probably would've been fine being there live, but hard to listen to here sat at home.
