People may not understand, but I so agree with you that sometimes the most relaxing thing I can do is just work uninterrupted in my kitchen. I LIKE being a mom. I like my work. Even dishes can be a relaxing thing to do if that's all you have to do in that moment. If my husband takes the kids out to give me a break, most of the time I'll end up cleaning while he's gone. It's not that I can't relax, it's that cleaning itself can be so relaxing. I love what you said about self-care potentially looking different for different people.
I think saying you like being a mom doesn’t sound as though someone enjoys it. Yours should LOVE being a mom. Yes you should have other interests and take care of yourself but like and love are different things. Just my opinion.
@@nancyfarkas3592 Out of everything she said, you focused in on one word. I think she used the word "like" because unfortunately there are too many people who see mothering as not fulfilling, or just another chore to check off the list...she is saying she truly LIKES all aspects of it. I don't know, just my opinion...differing views make the world go around, right? 😉 Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.
❤❤❤❤ I agree with all of this! I was a SAHM for the first 12 years and circumstances placed me back into my previous healthcare job and I have been doing this for the past 29 years. Fortunately, my job gives me 3 days off per week, so those days off is cleaning and cooking- I love homemaking, it’s relaxing AND fulfilling for me. Is my house spotless, nope, but it’s clean and welcoming and if something isn’t in the oven baking on my days off, then there is a diffuser bubbling somewhere and I am probably doing laundry or out in the flower garden (during the warm months).
It's amazing how different we all are. I HATE cleaning. Love things to BE clean but it's not remotely enjoyable or relaxing to me. Cooking I can do all day - if someone else cleans lol. If I have alone time I'm playing Mah Jongg, reading or watching movies/videos. Dishes are the worst. Laundry - no problem. Vacuuming and dusting? Bring it on. But if I never had to touch another dish, refrigerator, stove or bathroom my whole life, I'd be fine!
Just got home from work, made a cup of coffee and a freshly baked cookie and theres a New post... terning into a nice sunday with Rain outside..
Sipping coffee and puttering in the kitchen is my version of relaxing. I love it.
I do not have a dishwasher, except me, that's when I meditate and talk to Our Lord, and pray for those who are needing prayers. There are 5 of us right now at home, and these fellas like to eat! We have a garden, but it isn't that prolific-yet. We're doing better each year, thanks be to God, and I had enough tomatoes to freeze several quarts of sauces, and they have been a blessing! We had fresh peas, spinach, and some radishes, lettuce and green peppers. Would have had more, but we had a dry spring and summer and didn't water as we should have. You are such an inspiration, thank you for showing us how it's done, thank you for your encouragement! Such a beautiful family. God bless you each.
I love this. I'm the same. I dice up as much onions as I need or prep whatever food I need so when I'm cooking it's already done and week day dinners are less stressful & I have more time with my boys. Half an hour on the weekend leads to a calmer week.
I really appreciate your informative, smooth videos. I get excited to see them every Sundays you post (and totally get it when you can’t). I was especially impressed by your editing this week. It must have taken a while to go back and worth so much. I remember, you often do that, I was just extra appreciative today. This might be the first time I’ve commented but I’ve been loving you channel a couple of years.
Thank you for the kindness and encouragement ❤️
The best sound is a child laughing
Not if you live alone.
@@alexiahatch9708😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@alexiahatch9708just because you live alone doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy that sound. You don’t have to have kids to enjoy the sounds of kids being joyful.
I love the pace you work at in the kitchen. Staying organized and being prepared sure makes life easier . The amount of dishes waiting in your sink for washing shows how much you accomplish . I find so many routines in your videos that I have incorporated into my life. The children are so beautiful, Jessica, and all growing up. Thank you for sharing. Have a blessed week..
Tuesday AM: I love your videos. They are very relaxing to me AND I am blessed by the various methods you use in prepping. I am continually learning easier ways to do things like baking bacon in a Pyrex rather than on a cookie sheet. God uses you to make my kitchen experiences smarter. I’m 79 years old and still learning .
Thanks.❤
That tiny man fell asleep between father and big brother, how sweet:)))
Good Sunday morning. Its been an interesting week. I am about two weeks away from my disability hearing. I have been fighting for this for now two years. I am praying that this will bill my final step to get it. Please send prayers my way. Thx. Love them videos 💜. Its so fun to watch you guys and see how fast the kids grow up. We as moms have different ways to relax. It still looks like you are having beautiful weather. Enjoy! God bless and stay safe out there 🙏🏻💜.
God bless you 🙏
Prayers for you. My daughter has been going through with the disability hearings for two years. She is waiting for the answer too. Prays for your meeting to be positive.
Best of luck to you. I was extremely lucky. I applied, had physical and was approved in 6 weeks. I was told it was because I worked so long before applying and disability was very obvious. I understand for many it’s a battle.
prayers as well. I'm in Oklahoma City and I'm going through my second filing now as I've been going through this almost 4 years. I keep having pancreas surgery and I don't have a spleen or gallbladder. Need all prayers please🙏🏽
@@makeishiagrant5602 prayers for you. Hope things work out for you. God bless 🙏🏻🙏🏻
When I was young with children at home, I did the same. Now, at 76, I can't imagine doing what you're doing or what I did. However, of all the RUclips videos I watch I love yours most. Thanks so much!
Gosh. It seems we were just recently enjoying the PLANTING of your fine garden. 😮
Hi Jessica👋👋👋 Many blessings to you and yours🙏 I love watching you cook and prep for your family, your ability to adapt recipes to be dairy free intrigues me very much, it’s great your family doesn’t miss out on anything bc of your ability to do so and I appreciate that👍 I always get great tips and tricks from watching you, which is always wonderful. You prepped so many yummy items this day, I’m tired out from watching☺️ TYFS, I hope you all have a blessed week my friend, Happy Sunday Funday, enjoy!♥️💫✨👼🏻✨💫♥️
Thanks for your videos. You and other channels like yours has encouraged me to splurge and purchase a canner this year. I have already put up a crate of tomatoes, a 25 pound bag of carrots, 20 pound box plums and as well canned some dry beans which all these items were gifted to me from our local food pantry. Which may have spoiled if I hadn’t bought the canner. Thanks again for sharing your family life with us
My absolute favorite thing is to see my kids play and be kids while I work in the house.
Your kitchen looks lovely. Glad you were able to create your basement pantry. You are so right…do what creates joy and brings you joy. I too, enjoy working in the kitchen or working on a quilt instead of just “vegging”. These moments enrich us so we can bring joy to others. God bless all of your beautiful family.
Cooking alone IS self care in my opinion. 😂 It looks like you had a wonderful and productive time.
hey sista your future self will thank you for the effort you put in today and your family will benefit from your meals xx
I think of this all the time! “this is for future me… this is for future me…”😂
Love your videos. In USA you use pumpkim for sweet recipes as pancakes and muffins. That's not common here, we use it in mainly in soups, beans, lentils, sopaipillas😅❤
Thank you for showing motherhood in such a beautiful way. Those of us treating mothering and running a household as a job apriciate you .
I love being a Mum & I love caring for my family. I am sick and tired of having to defend this to my friends who think I am overextending myself. When and why did it become so unusual to love caring for your family? I don't like going out to drink alcohol and gossip. I like being in my home, either cleaning, sewing or cooking. I waited a very long time to have my daughter (over 15 IVF treatments) and I relish spending my time on looking after her and my husband.
Love your content! Here's a little tip to make your muffins stretch even more... add an oatmeal crumble topping for all fruit muffins and you'll stretch them out by about 4 per dozen. I was a single mom for 10 years so I know how to make meals stretch!
I’m planning on adding ancho chilies to my garden seed list. Love the idea of mixing sour cream and enchilada sauce!!
Hi Jessica!!!! So verybthrilled to see your video pop up this Sunday Morning!!! Sending nothing but good vibes, prayers, and smiles to you and yours!!!!
Happy Home Church Day 🎉🎉🎉🎉 your Michigan Fan and Friend Araminta ❤❤❤
In the summer, put a fan and blow it on the side of the freeze dryer. We have the same problem. The batches take a long time to finish. But once we put a fan blowing on the side, and we also put a fan on the pump, it finishes WAY faster.
Cool idea about the strainer for the broth.
Sometimes cooking/baking and being in the kitchen is a form of 'self-care'.
Hello wishing everybody a wonderfull Sunday, if its morning or afternoon or whatever time for you. Greetings from Berlin, Germany 🌻
I have 8 children with three in heaven. You bring good memories to my heart. I too enjoyed listening to my children laughing and playing.. God is so soooooo good.
Blessings yall
🤲🏾
Glad he's allowed to have some 😅😅😅
I understand the feeling of having the sound of your children playing in the background and enjoying a game on tv, soothing and heart warming. Thank you for sharing your life with us. I always enjoy your cooking videos. ❤
I also do a dump pot crock pot spaghetti sauce, I add everything from carrots to spinach. And I blend it up , add beef and taco seasoning and my family even the picky eaters eat it like it’s going out of style! 🤣
I agree with you, there’s nothing better than no distractions while working in the kitchen! It’s exactly how I use my “me” time. You amaze me with your organization, meal planning and all the other things you do, your very inspiring, thanks for sharing your blessed life. ❤ from Tennessee
I really enjoy your videos. You gave me some good ideas today. I like the sink sieve to use as a strainer for jars, and freezing your lemon juice. I'm 72 yrs old and pray I can have more time to live to be able to do a lot of these ideas. You are an inspiration. I canned some beans, green beans with my pressure cooker earlier this year. It was my first time pressure cooking. ♥️
Never too old to learn. Good for you; you go girl.
@deborahlawing2728 thank you. You're so kind. ❤️
Hi my friend! I love being productive in the kitchen.
Self care is getting to do what you need to do anyway in peace ( which makes it quicker! Plus it makes your days easier !
As always, You make my sunday morning! I get so many ideas from you!!
I'm so glad!
I enjoy cooking and canning food. Although my children are adults, I remember those days well. I'm about to make and can meatballs in beef broth. Of course the National Center for Home Food Preservation doesn't recommend putting binding agents like bread crumbs in meatballs you can, you can make it with dried herbs and should work to help bind it together I make the meatballs til there's a kind of bark on the outside of the meatballs so once it's in the jars with broth, they stay together.
This was so fun. You are the best mom. I do understand the mom heart. When we serve our family it makes our heart happy. Serving our family is serving God also. Happy heart!
Ty Jessica.
👍 WHAT A GREAT, VERY HELPFUL VIDEO! Watched it twice and took notes. Thank you.
I was so excited when I realized it was Sunday! Love starting my week with you and your beautiful family! Thank you for calmness in this crazy world! I want to be you when I grow up! Have a blessed day and week! Thank you!❤😊
Yeah! I am early ❤
Thank you for sharing 🥰
Love and blessings from Johanne, Norway 🇳🇴
Such a busy mama but such a blessing with your beautiful family
If you have a turkey roaster, it’s the best thing to make broth in! You can make a ton all at once. And I set it outside to cook if it’s hot in the house
They are so handy. I use mine for big batches, too.
Always look forward to your videos, hope you and yours have a blessed day!
Love being the fly on the wall as my family lives their best life. I have always loved watching hubs play, read and wrestle with the boys. Such a blessing.
I love seeing your meal prep videos. Gives me such good ideas. Thank you for sharing.
My favorite thing that keeps me coming back to your channel is your diction. I love that you say “I get to do this” or that! That is how it should be! You are a positive light, thank you for sharing.
Tiniest and cutest cutting board I’ve ever seen! ❤❤
I love the sink strainer idea, I will use that in my canning equipment. I will also try making gelatin using the beef gelatin and juice, thanks for the ideas.
It was great to hear you give a true definition of self care. Thank you
Absolutely!
Always a time saver to plan ahead makes for a week of free time to spend with children or quiet time with hubby ❤
Amazing mother and wife ❤ God created you ! God bless
Loved this!!!
Love your videos!
Fry those green tomatoes! So good!
Love this video!
Oh, baby Hannah is growing so fast. She's a little beauty.
Your children are very blessed to have such a dedicated mum. I was a housewife and mother when my children were growing up. I did my best to make sure they were fed well, but I didn't do half the things that you achieve at the weekend.
Enjoyed it!
Thank you! Amazing!
Loved this video so much!!!!! More like this please!!
Aw. Love this so much ❤
