Jillian Michaels and Kara Swisher go HEAD TO HEAD in this first time meet up! Kara exposes how deep the corruption in big tech runs - explaining in detail their motivation to coalesce power and how it comprises our safety. She also outlines the ways foreign countries sow dissent in American culture via "bot farms". And she offers solutions on how we can best protect our freedoms and our sanity from the "tech bros". But first, Kara has a few bones to pick with Jillian. So, we sail off the rails with these to mega personalities debating everything from transgender athletes, Russia/Ukraine, Fauci, Autocrats, universal basic income, music affecting our kids and more.
Hey team! I'm sure you figured this out already... but initially I intended to only dig into censorship online, whether or not the "tech bros" are becoming authoritarian overlords, the ways in which bot farms sow dissension in our culture etc. But Kara clearly had some serious bones to pick with me. So... first we go head to head and then in the second half of the show all the aforementioned is addressed. Can't wait to hear your thoughts!
Jillian the reason nobody on the left will have conversations with you is because you are a threat to their moral superiority complex and you are not towing their party line anymore so welcome to the right. You will never be able to get these people out of that pit. The worst part about this they can’t see that they’re headed toward a cliff at breakneck speed. The cliff is communism. They have no idea that in a communist community the elitist overlords really have no tolerance for gay people and will exterminate them nazi style. Theyve all been hoodwinked. Nazis is an extreme far RIGHT wing white nationalist ideology that stands against democracy and free societies while promoting whites as a master race (research eugenics era in USA 1920s) which has nothing to do with communism, which is an economic approach to the disruption of wealth an organization or country enjoys through the labor in which it was achieved (aka workers rights or various classes such as poor/middle/rich). This is the socialist foundation of Unions, who ended child labor, increased worker wages, freed up weekends, gave us a 40 hr work week, safe work environments, & work benefits like PTO, paid holidays, medical care, ect. Left = freedoms, representative democracy, ability to achieve increased wealth while Right = dictatorship, one ruler, slavery.
Jillian based on your responses I got the impression that you might be a moderate who doesn’t go to one extreme of the two spectrums of left & right, I greatly appreciated that as our society needs more centrist speakers to bring objectivity back to the forefront and away from divisive extremism. Honestly, you were far more patient than I would have been Jillian. The moral vanity of this woman is nauseating. There is nothing complicated about this issue, and it’s only been made complicated by zealots like Kara. Men should not be prancing around women’s changing rooms with their penises hanging out. Male rapists shouldn’t ‘t be imprisoned in female penitentiaries and, if you were born a man, you must compete against men is sports, regardless of whether you “feel” like a woman. And, perhaps most importantly, children who have yet to experience the joys of sex or are not mature enough to seriously decide whether they might want children one day should NEVER be counselled toward the butchery of a chemical or surgical transition. These were uncontroversial opinions until about 5 minutes ago.

Jillian's guest is doing THE VERY THING she accuses “the right” of. How predictable. She is the closed-minded absolutist pigeonholing and demonizing those who don’t agree with her, refusing to have a conversation, and talking over Jillian. Just look at her body language. She’s closed off, defensive, and passive-aggressive. Look at Jillian’s body language open, inviting, practically pleading for her to set aside the stereotypes and logical fallacies and THINK about differing opinions instead of reflexively deflecting them. She’s not a journalist, she’s an editorialist.
Guest says: ‘let’s discuss the nuance’ then says ‘we can’t discuss this issue because its ACTUALLY a front for these other issues’ …. and nothing is actually discussed.
Making shit up isn’t an argument. “The right” isn’t a boogyman, it’s half the country and “they” make good points that you won’t listen to making you the closed minded one.
What's so odd is she ends up agreeing with me on most of the points. I'm just grateful she showed up. Most people on the far left won't show up for it and she did. Have to give her props for that.

Kara is absolutely clueless about the significance of movement behind Trump. That man took a bullet for this country, due to vitriol of the left & the media. He's rich, he had a grrrreat life before entering the political colosseum. He made us energy independent for the 1rst time in our nation's history. He donated his presidential paychecks to a Veterans organization. He worked for free!
Keep digging for the truth. You should interview Brandon Straka, the creator of the Walk Away movement. His story is incredible! Thanks for trying to bridge the gap between sides. Unfortunately it's not always possible to reach the psychologically blocked.
“The right” isn’t a boogyman, but all the right wing political pundits who make money by views and impressions, they surely are and they have demonized LGBTQ people and majority of this country don't agree with those ideas.

Jillian, we love you and respect you for your willingness to interview people on both sides of the issues. Kara needs to leave her echo chamber and MEET with people on the right to hear actual opinions, not just what she reads online. If the Olympics had instead anti-trans nonsense for the world to view on TV then Kara wouldn't be so flippant in her response about it.

What's new? They reached a point where even in Hollywood movies you realize that they had written that thinking of "the extreme right" but in fact all that are saying it is fitting the lefties and they don't even realize they did that.
Jillian's patience for this woman's egocentric "my way is the right way" attitude is more than I would be able to bear. The lack of perspective taking skills and awareness of internal inconsistencies (such as the idea that we can go and "defend democracy" by starting wars with countries that function differently than our interesting experiment in progress or "our tech companies" have more acceptable motives than those of China) is mentally fatiguing to be assaulted with. You can't educate someone who is so determined not to be cured of the ignorance that they cling to. Thank heavens she isn't in charge of determining any policies that affects peoples lives and freedom to be different than what she thinks is acceptable.

As a fellow left wing person, the first half of this interview was honestly embarrassing. I got the impression that Kara is in a bit of a media bubble and it was clear that Kara hasn't bothered to do the same level of research into transgender medical care as Jillian does - she was pretty dismissive when Jillian asked her to read the various scientific reports. Yes, these issues get politicized unfairly, but refusing to engage with the science because you already have your mind made up based on your political affiliation is doing a vulnerable group of people a huge disservice.
Mad respect for you Jillian for having tough conversations.

I have been listening to Jillian for about 15 years. Jillian has always used critical thinking skills in all her topics discussed . I find her kindness and openness to listen and learn from others refreshing ; even when she may think differently. She is a lovely human being and a great teacher.😊

As an Independent Voter & Lesbian who raised two adult daughters on my own, I appreciate you Jillian for taking an objective stand against the trans humanist agenda when it comes to protecting children & women’s only spaces. I struggled with my sexuality as I was growing up & there’s NO WAY I can agree to allowing a child to make such a huge life impacting decision to alter their development because of the massive influence of their environment is so prevalent on who they think they are in that time of their lives, which drastically changes once they become adults living on their own as it’s during this time of their lives they truly start to connect with who they are outside of external influences.
Oh Jillian, it was so hard to watch this. Is there any way you can ask guests to not curse so much? It's hard to listen to... and shows her level of mediocrity.. not to be mean

I get Jillian’s point. You can’t expect conservative people to respect alternative lifestyle choices if liberals are saying or doing irreverent things about Christianity. Ideally all people should respect each other.
What does the "Olympics" a morden multi national, multi cultural compation that is based on a pagan festival have anything to do with Christianity? Much of Christian imagery is based on pagan art. Know one complains that it is insulting to pagans or their pagan ancestors. Maybe if you do not like pagan imagery you should not watch a traditionaly pagan festival.

I truly love podcasts like this. It helps me understand different perspectives. Sure, I maybe didn't love Kara's presentation, but I very much cared about her objectives and why she feels the way she does. It helps me understand others better. Thank you for this, and thank you for staying with her and having a conversation instead of just shutting it down. Stuff like this matters.

I just watched 15’ of the interview with Kara Swisher……I’m speechless bc this is more like talking to a live Merry -go -round! My gosh Jillian is the most patient, cordial, fair and polite interviewer I’ve ever seen. Kudos to you Jillian for not taking the bait she claims you take on a regular basis!! You’re such a decent person you should run for office next. It’s not impossible. Look at Tulsi Gabbard, she never dreamed she’d be in politics. OK watching the remainder of it now. To be fair.

Wow. As someone who used to think of themselves as liberal, this guest has made me realize how much the left has left me behind. If she is talking to conservatives with that type of tone and dismissiveness towards them and their thoughts, the left has no hope to change anyone’s opinions. She makes good points, but just can’t grasp that other people don’t feel the way she does about issues that are important to them. Ideas that are different than hers are dismissed as trash and the ones who think that way are idiots. Well, thinking that people are idiots is why people are divided. She is smart and knows what she is talking about on many things, but her tone and superiority complex can be very stomach turning.

Jillian has been completely professional, empathetic, humble, open, and understanding. Her guest has been the complete opposite. By the second half, Kara says she wants (in theory) to find commonality from both sides. But she doesn’t want a dialogue. Jillian’s guest seems to be listening but then becomes dismissive, judgemental, and tells Jillian what she’s really feeling (gaslighting). Throughout the interview, Jillian is still trying to find common ground and answers to truly understand. But when she sees it differently, she still states what she believes in a respectful and tactful way. We can learn from Jillian, for sure.

You can share it as an example on how to keep your cool and be kind even when you have such a person in front of you. I'm not that strong, after 5 min I stopped watching.

Omg Kara is so frustrating! She interrupts way too much. Lady, as a conservative Christian, we don’t CARE about gay marriage!!! Nobody cares!!! I for one was happy about it, and fine with it. So no, we aren’t throwing a fit since then and taking it further as you say. We were fine with all of that and more. But the left pushes things until it’s meant to be “anything goes” and we just have to accept it and that’s when we push back. For example,
We hadn’t fought roe v wade for YEARS, it was what it was (even tho roe’s entire story was based on a lie and planned parenthood was based on eugenics) but then the left wanted to push for the entire 9 months, etc and then we fought back. Dont be shocked and surprised, are you kidding me? It’s the same with all the trans and other issues now.
Exactly! Totally agree! Same with the freaking bathroom issues…which was never an issue until the left MADE it one. In the past, if I had ever seen a person in the bathroom, quietly going about doing their business and I thought perhaps they might be trans, I probably wouldn’t have given it much more thought. It's wild that this guest is saying she doesn't want things to be politicized yet her entire argument for everything is political. She says she doesn't think government should be involved yet denies government or their bodies as an enemy. This Rollercoaster interview is making me dizzy and we are only 26 minutes in with no healthy discussion about the topic at hand. I'm so frustrated with all this labeling right/left talk, i just want to be able to get to the point like jillian is trying to do. We can make progress by calling everyone we don't know a lie. Make the discussion without shutting people off and down. She's calling jillian closed minded at the top of this, while being completely closed minded the whole time.

Swisher is completely off base. Trauma clearly skews her view, making her emotional rather than objective. She’s mixing up beliefs and behaviors, and it’s a dangerous oversimplification.
In my view, these two are rockstars - love them both for what they have accomplished and the values they stand for. Equally love seeing them DUKE IT OUT without getting petty or totally drop to the bottom as some other debates we are witnessing :-)

I've heard Kara be applauded for her intelligence and yet I'm really seeing what feels like defensiveness sprinkled with a touch of propaganda here. There are people on the left that I disagree with but convey these messages much more efficiently, I'm actually somewhat surprised by the lack of depth from Kara so far.
I loved Kara’s Star Trek & Star Wars contrasts & comparisons! Spot on here & Jillian I love your facial expressions during this discussion! Kara brought up some excellent ideas on many various challenges we’re facing right now & I loved how Jillian agreed on these points.
Not complex issue: Biological males playing in biological female sports is WRONG! This guest so condensing, dismisses Julian's comments and has to be right. Parents/ kids are still worried about the bathroom issue. The Olympics is a global event. Thank you Jilian for this video.
She speaks about how important it was for her to have children, yet she's okay with sterling children.
This woman really does not like Jillian. She disagrees with every little thing Jillian says. If Jillian said the sky is blue, she would say no its not its purple.

Love, love, love, Jillian and how she does her research and just handles difficult conversations with grace and professionalism. Kara on the other hand, does that thing that 'Lefties' do. Start a conversation with an insult, a lie, and a dramatic gaslight statement to throw off the person who has a different opinion. This tactic used to work, but times they are changing. And because Kara is so one-sided, close-minded and bitter, like those folks on 'Shark Tank' say...'I'm out'.

It IS true, the left won't allow free discussion these days. I'm a gay man who has only voted for Democrats and I have been disturbed by the shape the left has taken in the last decade but really especially these last few years.

This is a painful interview to listen to. I had to take breaks just to get my heart rate to slow down! 😂 Props to Jillian for holding composure, asking good questions, and allowing her guest to spin in so many tangents that often contradicted herself. It’s mind numbing that BOTH left and right extremes are basically saying the same thing but on opposite ends of a spectrum. Ultimately this is by design, and is meant to divide and conquer- but each side thinks it’s the other that’s causing it. God help us!

Wow!!! This Kara person…. First of all Jillian I’ve always been a big fan, you helped me to change my life years ago, listening to your podcast when I would work my overnight shifts, you inspired me to hit the gym and change my lifestyle and I will be forever grateful. I found you when I was looking up Matt Walsh interviews for his movie. You were just as classy as I remember, as a mother of a 4 year old boy the trans issue has been big in my mind. I am more conservative when it comes to this. I was always taught by my parents that as long as we were in a loving respectful relationship, it doesn’t matter, who you love. So no my issue with trans is not losing the gay debate or whatever, my issue is my 4 year old son should be able to dress up as Sky for Halloween, without the fear of someone saying he was born in the wrong body and he must be a girl… it terrifies me that someone could take my child away subject him to the experimental treatments, forever alter his body because he likes to paint his nails, wants to dress up as a female paw patrol pup, he is a boy who sees his mom paints her nails and wants to do that too, he wants to fly planes when he gets big so the pup who flies planes is who he is drawn too, it doesn’t mean anything else. I grew up fishing, playing in the dirt, loving, X Men, Monster Trucks and superheroes and I could change a tire faster than my husband, doesn’t mean I should have been a boy.
We are in big, big trouble. I don’t know how this is going to end well for any of us.
