thanks for uploading this... love the theme.... loved the whole feel of the English Tutor Mansion, the rain machine, the fog, Truman, the Butler - the Maid what a great cast...one of my favourite movies as a kid
My mom rented this at the video store when I was young and made me and my siblings watch it. We were dreading it. We all loved it and I can say it is still one of my very favorite movies.
My brother and my dad and I have watched this together countlessly and we always shout "DEAD" at the actors who are dead and "ALIVE" at the few left on earth 😂 gotta be one of my favorite movies of all time
I saw this in the cinema when I was very young, and thought it was the funniest thing ever. It's ashamed to think that everyone in the opening credits have passed on with the exception of Maggie Smith. :( (James Cromwell and Richard Narita are also still currently with us)
Wonderfully funny film with numerous twists leading to an amazing ending. Great cast and sadly, nearly all of them have passed on. Only Maggie Smith, James Cromwell, and Richard Narita are still with us. Even the director, Robert Moore has since died.
I love the opening for this movie, I watched it the first time when I was very little and it scared me hahahaha I love this movie , it's so funny! A great classic!
As a kid, shortly after the film came out, I recall a toy being offered that has always reminded me of this pop-up tableau. It seems like it was even marketed either as a Murder By Death toy, or as Agatha Christie's... well, let's just refer to that title as "And Then There Were None." But I never got the toy, and the internet seems to have NO info on it. So, I'll settle for watching this!
Does anyone know where I cpuld find the entire soundtrack to this? I need it for a mystery murder dinner party that me and my friend will soon be hosting.
He wasn't a Columbo proxy, he played hard-boiled detective Sam Diamond (a parody of Sam Spade as played by Humphrey Bogart in The Maltese Falcon), about as far from Columbo as you can get.
I really have to sent you a big thanks for upload this opening title... this was my childhood fav movie... and stilll it is, I don't know why ... but I love the mixed crime novels maybe...
It seems like a tip of the hat to the fact that Falk had a right eye made of glass...a witty reminder of a characteristic for which Falk was unashamed!
I LOVE this movie, but i've just realized that all the characters are in this video execpt for Marcel and Willie Wang! How could they leave them out?! It would only be 2 more drawings
Worst opening credits ever. I nearly died of boredom. Film is great. Fantastic one-liners - just too many boring bits. Needs editing - which I will do soon.
"In diabolical order". I love that!

I can relate. This is also one of my all-time favorite moves.
I still remember seeing this in the cinema with my folks. I thought it was hilarious… and still do.
I love the opening theme too.
RIP Peter Falk

Sadly just heard the news that Maggie Smith died today at 89.
this intro reminds me of an strange pop up book that was read to us in third grade. I wish I could remember the title.

Well most of them were getting on in years when this was made
Sad, isn't it?
Sorry I didn't see your comment. I just posted the same thing. :o
For the life of me I can't understand why this movie bombed. It's a classic! Always loved this movie.
thank u so much. I was looking for the soundtrack on cd or to buy, but couldnt find it anywhere. too bad, its brilliant.

Great selection of actors. We just don't have people like this today. I guess Maggie Smith could play Miss Marple's nurse??

Me and my family have watched this multiple time yet we still don’t really understand the ending ahahha
You can't understand it.. everything in this film is nonsense - that is why it is so geat :)
Soundtrack CD now available on Varese Sarabande-issued 04/01/2019
Thanks a lot for the info:)!
1:09 Technology Connections, anyone?
Yes, indeed. I watched the film a couple of weeks ago and instantly recognised it from Technology Connection's video I watched years ago.
I think I solved it! The cook was Irene "Rita" Twain!
really hit me so many years later that the Columbo proxy was just played by Peter Falk.
the casting, man.
