  • I've had the Fiore by Paul Reed Smith now for a couple weeks and am enjoying the flexibility of tone it has. Additionally picked up the Mesa Boogie Triple Crown a while back and have started to get some bettter tones out of it. As with all Mesa Boogies, a huge part of the charm is the range of tones you can get from it, however dialing in the best tones takes a lot of experimenting and learning how the amps controls interact.

That thing sounds fantastic. It's got balls.

It is really a monster amp, but takes time to dial in. At around 1 o’clock on the gain knob for all channels there is a significant jump in gain but also bass. You can see on my settings that when running the gain below that (especially on channel 2) I have the bass all the way up and the treble and presence fairly low to compensate. One thing you learn after owning a couple Mesa Boogie amps is the setting will look like they shouldn’t be set that way, but still sound fantastic. Also helps I have it going into the PRS JMOD 2x12 cab, which has more bass than any 2x12 I’ve heard.

Mine stays in tune no problem, I’d consider taking it back to where you got from as a PRS Core model should not have issues with tuning.
I’ll have to double check but I would expect some hum in 2 (bridge and middle) as the humbucker won’t cancel a single pickup fully I don’t think. I picture it like 3 single coils, a pair out of phase (the humbucker) and another that is in phase with one of the two coils.
