It’s interesting how foundations can work for some and not for others. I love the Fenty Stick foundation.

As someone who did in fact buy the Fenty foundation stick after watching your video - please do not feel bad! We are all consumers and we are in charge of our own purchases. I love how you do your reviews, you are so incredibly thorough and you really care. You could not have known that your opinion would change, and you show a lot of integrity actually admitting it. You are amazing. Don't beat yourself up about this! :)

I wanted to like this because I prefer drugstore price points for cosmetics and saw several recommendations on YT. I also like tinted sunscreens or moisturizers over high coverage foundations as I'm older with dry to combo skin and think lighter coverage looks more natural on me. I thought this was thick and mask like and not hydrating at all. Both the light and light medium shades looked orangey. I'm glad it works for some people. Maybe I will try different skin prep or mixing with other foundation to adjust the shades.

PSA for everyone who may be panic buying/stocking up on the Tom Ford Traceless Stick Foundation (me): please make sure to check your batch number when you receive your product! I followed the advice of another consumer on Sephora who shared this information and received an expired product as well as several others! The batch number is on the bottom of your foundation stick. I checked mine and thankfully it was only manufactured last year and has a 36 month shelf life but just please be careful ladies and gents! I recently bought the foundation for the first time when i first saw that it was half off and then bought another one as a back up so i really hope it's not being discontinued or reformulated!

Skin type makes all the difference. The YSL works amazing for my normal to oily t-zone, late 40’s skin. It’s my favorite of the year. It looks natural, it’s long lasting and the best part is the shade.

Danessa Myrick’s was doing a 12 days of Christmas sale and each day they offered a product for $12. I picked up three shades of the Yummy Skin Tint because it was such a bargain and I needed to meet the minimum for shipping. I love the Yummy Skin Blurring Balm powder so will try these together. And I also love the Glossier liquid foundation.

I have very oily skin and I live in LA so I love the ysl foundation for the extra SPF when even my winter is sunny AF 🙃 I agree that not as easy to blend, I apply with my finger and spread it around one section and then use a sponge to blend it out. I also use the tatcha powder on my T zone. I don't find it to be too drying on my skin.

Thank you for the videos! The worst foundation for me this year was the KVD Good Apple Serum foundation. That foundation was AWFUL. I tried to use it so many different ways but it just did not work for me. The best one I tried this year was hands down the Clinque Even Better Cliniclal Serum foundation. That one completely changed the game for me.

I am in the minority when i say I prefer full coverage matte or semi matte finishes, BUT I am 66 years old. While my skin looks good with few lines due to religious skin care, I still have things that a full coverage will help with. I am also dry-like dragon scales. My favorite foundations are Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush, KVD Good Apple (even though it isn’t marketed for dry skin it is awesome), Juvia’s Place I Am Magic both the regular and matte formulas, and Nars soft matte. I don’t like glow or skin tints at my age.

Similar to many of the comments here-I absolutely love the Fenty Blur stick. It works really well on my skin and when blended out, you can barely tell I’m wearing anything at all. I will say-it takes VERY little to go a long way and sheers out. You never know how something may work for your skin type.

I adore the Fenty stick and cannot wear the Tom Ford. I am a 55 year old grandmother and the Fenty still looks good on me after a 6 to 8 hour day. I have mature skin. My skin is dry and very sensitive. I've started having an issue with dark spots this year. The worst for me was Loreal Age Perfect Radiant Serum Foundation. It looks like I've put pancake makeup on! All bad...My new favorite is It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Illumination SPF 50+. This stuff performs in every way it claims. Looks very natural and covers my hyper pigmentation.

For me, I have normal to dry skin also that can be acne prone and sensitive. I'm also almost 35. I tried 2 foundations this year that didn't come out this year lol. The Elf Satin Finish foundation was soo great for me! I have even repurchased it. Great medium coverage and wear throughout the day. The Colourpop Pretty Fresh foundation was nice at first application but way too dewy through the day, especially in the humidity.

Love the Fenty stick but not their Eaze drop tint. Would never pay for Tom Ford. Not even sure it’s available in Australia. I’m 50 and love Revlon age defying 3X in true beige 65, LYS serum foundation in MN3, L’Oréal True match blendable in 4N and L’Oréal freshwear infallible in shade 220 sable sand. At least that’s what they’re called here but I know it’s different in other regions. The best affordable longwear foundation for drier skin is From Moira. They are improving their shade range these days. Just thought I’d give the Aussie/southern hemisphere medium skin tone viewers some information.

    - Gucci cushion de beautè. It’s my favourite, it has great cool undertones, glowy finish, beautiful medium coverage and it melts into the skin. Definitely pricey but worth it.

    -Givency prisme libre glow
During the summer I prefer not to wear foundation but the Chanel Eau de Teint.

Your eyeshadow is really mesmerising. I just keep watching at it the entire video lol. It's like a neutral look but somehow you incorporated color in the most beautiful way.... it's just a touch. Like perfect.
I don't really have a top 5 foundations. I do have mostly sensitive, dehydrated but combo skin (the overall face is dry, the zone is oily, but still dehydrated) that leans cool toned pink. Do note that I use a face cream and let it sink in any time I do my make-up (the lait-creme sensitive from embryolisse, only use a tiny bit to prevent pilling)
1: I just really like the soft glam filter fluid glow booster from catrice.
For quick out of the door days, and I put it on with the applicator, then rub it softly onto my face with my fingers in circular motions. natural glow with some coverage. This is probably my most used ''sort of foundation''.
2: I use the Nyx can't stop won't stop for more coverage days, and when I want something more matte.
3: My ultimate favorite foundation is the loreal true match. It hits every tick for me. I loved it to pieces. Except...... - I didn't buy it after my first bottle, because the brand it's selling is not cruelty free and I found out that make-up could be non cruelty free made at a older age. But I prefer cruelty free products over anything else.

My skintype is combination. I love the Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. I will never use anything else! And I also loved the YSL All Hours Foundation.. I always prep with hydrating primer and Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Primer on the nose/pore area. The key is to not use too much foundation. It makes my skin look like porcelain. I dont use it daily, only on special occations.

You got me to try the TF stick and … yeah. BEST, most natural, flattering ,BEAUTIFUL second skin foundation I’ve ever tried with THE most perfect shade match (Btw- I’m an older fan of yours. Double nickels this year but we have similar tastes. I’ve tried LOTS of foundations 😉) I found mine on the TF site when I first heard about sale/clearance and loved it so much I then ordered the soft matte foundation (also 50% off). It’s of course a different formula/finish/coverage- but I love that too!
I’m glad to hear it’s not discontinued but being repackaged. I’m not so glad that that probably means it’ll cost even more $$$. Oh well, I’ll still repurchase forever!
    Merry Christmas Morgan!

I love the Hourglass Veil Hydrating Skin Tint, and it’s the only product of its kind that I have ever liked. It is also the only base Product that I prefer to apply with my fingers. It is very glowy, so that may put some people off, but I think it is flattering on my 54-year-old (normal/oily combinaton) skin. I also absolutely LOVE The Glossier Stretch Foundation. It is amazing and wears very well on me, for hours. It has a natural finish with a very subtle, barely detectable, understated glow that is beautiful. My only complaint about it is the shade range. I use Light 4 (light with pink undertones), which is just a tiny bit too light for me, but the next “light with pink undertones” shade (Medium 4) is WAY too dark. I wish they had a “Light-Medium 4” shade in between.

My fave foundation is the Makeup by Mario for glowy days and Makeup Forever HD for matte days. Sometimes I even mix them! I recently moved to a new, colder and dryer climate (plus forced air heating) and have suffered the worst eczema outbreak of my life as a result, so have really been leaning on skin tints/tinted moisturizers since normal foundations, even high end ones that everyone loves, have just been too cakey. Sad to say, hated the Wet n Wild tinted moisturizer. Dry mature skin hates this - it clings to every pore and line and looks like a mask even when sheered out. Bought it twice to give it another shot and returned it both times.

Maybe try more moisturizer under it. I'm very dry and I love this.

Completely agree with the fenty stick foundation. At first I was like YASSSS 3 weeks later it went in the trash 😮😢

Best for me 2023 have been nars skin tint Groenland and light reflecting foundation in Patagonia - also loved my hourglass skin tint shade 8, but i'm not sure shade 8 is my perfect shade. I also loved fenty liquid eaze drop shade 6, but I like that eazedrop cause i'm an OR nurse who has to wear a surgical mask on and off all day so I need whatever I wear to dry down fully and fenty really does that well. Even though you didn't end up liking the fenty stick -it seems ok to me! I haven't had any issues with it and I did get it cause of your glowing review LOL but don't feel bad cause I'm happy. The worst foundation I tried 2023 is hands down the jones road wtfoundation. Oh gosh. It was gloppy and heavy and powerfully pungent. My face even reacted a little bit to it. I couldn't wait to wash it off! I also got horribly matched in Sephora for a Dior Forever foundation that is a super deep warm shade when usually I get light medium neutral. I was trying to find a good shade to match for when I am using my self tanners LOL It is still a process!!!

I have the same skin type as you, and I HAVE TO mention Ilia serum whatever skintint (don't remember the whole name). Not because of the coverage but because my skin started looking FLAWLESS after a few weeks of using this. I had 3 different people, including my doctor, ask me if I'm a dermatologist or a cosmetologyst. Our conversations weren't even about skin. My doctor was checking my neck and looking down at my face when he asked me that. Mind you, I suffered from acne my whole life. I have texture and occasional breakouts. Having multiple ppl react to my skin like this is saying something. Whatever they put in that Ilia bottle, it works like magic. 😅

Hi Morgan, I wish you a wonderful 2024. I’ve been enjoying your videos this year. I have watched you for a while just not subscribed. I wanted to ask which foundation your prefer better the fenty or makeup forever powder foundation. Have a wonderful day.

On my combo skin, the Glossier stretch foundation turned into a pastey oil slick on me by mid-day which is really unusual for me. I was SO sad, I had to return it.

My best foundation this year is the Maybelline Super Stay 24H Skin Tint (oily skin) but i also love the tinted hydrator from wet and wild in the wintertime when my skin gets a little drier.

I do like wet n wild tinted moisturizer, but oddly enough, their lightest shade runs dark on me, and that's just when it's applied. It doesn't oxidize but I do wish they had some lighter shades. I guess I'm a 👻
