The tone he used during the 80s was incredible. Cocaine is one of my fav songs.
His live solo for cocaine in the 80's with that chorus pedal still blows me away. Just a killer sound
@bluez1981 yeah it's orgasmic😝🤣🤣
His les paul tone in the days with Mayall were the best
And drugs
Cesar Diaz was in his amps in that period..
The clack on that strat is beautiful.
I saw him in concert in ‘86 at the Forum in L.A.
our seats were behind the stage and in that occasion we got lucky because Phil Collin’s was playing the drums!
I was 16, best concert of my life!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🫶🏻
You lucky bugger - 2 of the greatest musicians of that era! Seeing Phil on the drums live is a dream of mine but unfortunately not possible these days.
@@jezg084 no kidding, the more time passes by the more I appreciated the fact that I watched them both play together 🙌🏻
Certainly something you'll never forget and to think musicians like that would link up and play at each others concerts is really cool@@svgitana2499
Essentially, treat the instrument as you would your voice. Nice way of looking at it.
I can't sing, only out of tune. I can whistle perfectly though.
Treat yourself as the instrument of your voice
@@williamg.beaulieu1465That’s such a beautiful statement.
You're already 10 steps ahead in your mind, but it's time to start playing and you have to bring yourself back ❤ ... thanks for the music you've given us 😊
Eric Clapton. What a gift to the world!
It’s the voice but a really good one
This man never ceases to amaze me
What about that tone? Sounds awesome
I love love love this man 😻
The best of all time
im going to see him live for the first time may21 24 at royal albert hall .row3 from the stage ,already really excited ,one of my bucket list to see him live ,hes the reason i learn plsy guitar age of 12 and thanks to my dad to intruduce me eric songs from a young age ,he really want it to see him live but never had a chance and sadly lost him 2019 march from a lung cancer , its going to be so emotional to watch eric live as everytime play or listen eric remind me of my dad 😢😢😢😢
Im afraid you missed his best days. But he can still show
Nice!
God speed my brother 🙏💪🙏💪.
How was the show? I've consumed some footage and he's in good form. Royal Albert Hall for Clapton is somewhat like MSG for Billy Joel.
@@Bodyknowledge77 i didnt go :(
So his approach to the guitar is to make it sing in the bits where he isn’t singing.
I can relate to that.
If you want to see EC cut heads watch him play "Further on up the Road " from The Band The Last Waltz
You mean the scene where Clapton walks on stage with his strap purposely set up to come undone which it does right at the moment the band stops playing for him to deliver a blistering blues lick but his strap mysteriously comes undone and he cant play the lick because he was afraid of sucking?
You seriously should not have used that cowardice moment to show his ‘greatness’.🤣😂🤣😂
@@prathameshbhambure maybe go watch the video before talking out of your poop shoot. He pulls down and it comes of the carefully prepared strap thus avoiding having to play a lick buy himself in for an auditorium full of vip celebrities. Go see for yourself.

Robbie Robertson is amazing the way he steps in when Claptons guitar strap comes off.
@@prathameshbhambure EC is a great singer. The first solo I ever learned was his Crossroads. First song I sang and played was Sunshine Of Your Love. His guitar playing is nothing special.
He's GREAT!
Est
I remember watching this back when I was a teenager in the 80’s and being just awestruck by him! He was the reason I picked up the guitar in the first place, even though I’ve never been able to play blues.
Perfect example: duet between Phil Anselmo and Dimebag Darell’s guitar on Cemetary Gates
He’s absolut great 👍 Eric forever 🎸🎸🎸🎸 its the voice and the 🎸 guitar not only one thing ~ or how long play you guitar. ??????
Hes so talented. 100 different changes in his head thats quality.
There will never be another.......
It's not much, just get shoved into the solo and well, just start singing with your guitar... that's it really. Not a big deal, just indebt yourself to the gods and ask them for their voice...
I think you're unto something
Dude that’s so accurate. He’s so chill about something so crucial
Genius
Eric is the love of my life😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Awesome.
Yes it makes sense. Things happen fast.
He's thinking about a solo thats coming up, talk about flow killer. While he's thinking about his solo, and you can tell, he should be reaching into his soul and put it into his playing. That's the difference between this guy and the greats like Jeff Beck and S.Ray Vaughn, they're not thinking. No one is shoving them thru a door to have to act, they just are. NO act, just reaching into their soul.
He's always been plagued with massive self-doubt. The nights he's not are special.
The guitar sings like no other instrument with all the different bends muting picking techniques etc. It is very vocal sounding 🎸🎸🎸 Guitar For ev a !!!
The master
"Sir, this is Starbucks."
It's just a voice mate👍🤠🌵
👉🥓🎸🥓
I just saw Rolling Stomes list and I want to know of they have seen Eric at all in 2023 ? From Jeff Becks tribute Blue Rainbow to the Robbie Roberson tributes and all he say in with Crossroads Eric is as relevant today as when with Crream he stayed to his lane and he and Nathan East Chris Sharon can do anything also its very disappointing to me. It took me a year but I uploaded 3 Jeff Beck videos it was painful to do his concert in 2022 Cincinnati. ❤ Clapton Strong Forever Fan❤
His guitar sings....and gently weeps.
Pebber brown taught the same approach
It is with some irony that Clapton was always on the hunt to re-capture some of his fat Gibson humbucker tone on his Fender, whereas Page was always trying to re-capture his early single coil Fender tones on his Gibson.
I hear drums playing rhythm, talking or singing, playing lead !
The era of the worst clapton tone.
And he still sound killer.
The best singer who played the guitar is eric
Carlos Santana was explaining his guitar solos once and he is basically singing in his head as he plays, but most of his words are curse words.
He demonstrated by voicing each note as he played. An awful lot of f-words go into his solos.
That’s cool do you have a link?
I always forget he's a brit
The best. I'd take Clapton over the Beatles any day
all day every day and the holidays too... they're criminally overrated and Eric is a musical genius whose voice got even better with age, and his solos are symphonic
@@markvanslyke294 I would say Clapton is one of the most overrated musician there is. Tho he is an incredible player.
he's not overrated at all, but guitarists think he is because he isn't as mechanically dazzling as people like Jeff Beck, Steve Vai, or Tony MacAlpine, but his choice of notes and sequencing is absolutely prodigious; he makes his solos melodic rather than boisterous and his solos have a defined beginning, middle, and end. @@kamillok3273
Until you play what you hear in your head you are just messing around
I am sure he would trade everything for a closed locked window or a builder that installed a safety rail .. Because of him safety standards were set in place to protect future victims......
What do you mean "because of him?" You make it sound like it was Eric Clapton's fault.
CQFD...
What if you can't sing? XD
Too bad he almost lost his ability to play after taking the covid vaccine
Sounds like “Cocaine”
The worst Racist rant ever heard, 76 rant was insane racism, Rolling stone documented it and it's disturbing.
Crapton...
Yet he's admired by your heroes, bye bye
Oh and the same crapton to be inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame 3 times. Mic 🎤 drop bye bye 👋🏻👋🏻
Ps the only artist to be inducted 3 times. 👍🎤👋🏻
