- One of sixty made, this faithful recreation of Mike McCready's 1960 Strat is the best of what Fender is doing these days - a wonderful sounding and great playing instrument in mint condition with all of original paperwork as well as a few extras! Today we have Aaron Hiebert on the demo through the Dumble-modified 1965 Super Reverb we've been so excited about recently.

It's amazing to me that we are watching a video of a beautiful recreation of an iconic guitar played through a Dumble and there are people on here complaining about relic'ing. To me, that guitar sounds incredible through that amp. Hats off to the guy playing in the demo, he's really doing justice to such a special guitar and amp!
The playing is amazing, no doubt. However just like you're entitled to your opinion about the guitar, so is everyone else. It's a recreation, not the real thing, and the prices are expensive which can't be denied.
Ice pick territory tone. I don't care hoe expensive or special the amp, guitar or how great the playing is: learn yo use your damn tone knobs. Treble on blast like that is a waste of tone coming from an amp like that.
Amazing!!! Tone and playing …
Really needed this inspiration this morning. Thank you!!
Good God man Aaron is the master of the frets by far so dam creative as usual he never disappoints unbelievable that guitar should be a couple bucks more just because Aaron touched it lol absolute beautiful guitar phenomenal amp and the playing speaks for itself Bravo sir definitely saved to the playlist
For the amount asked for these masterbuilts, I'd just buy an original Pre-CBS strat.
And you don’t even get Brazilian rosewood……
People compare MBS and real pre CBS guitars but remember they are priced very differently
You will not have a pre CBS for the price of the Mac Cready
True, just buy refin with same price
@@smoochie3331You can't even get refin one for the same price
Dang! My man Mike mccready. Awesome guitar awesome video.
Aarons playing is 💯
Aaron is the master! His nuance, texture, detail and creativity are totally next level. LedZep into Tracey Chapman into Incubus! It’s as hilarious as it is beautiful. Thanks ECG and thanks Aaron! You guys rock.
It’s just a guitar! Duh! Mine sounds just as good, if not better!
@@lesbois53 Post up your video champ.
@@gedification Sorry mate, but seriously I have not got any vids. Some of us can live without videos of ourselves you know? I have Nothing to prove really. I just go out and gig three/ four times a week, just to stop from starving! It’s a job. Got no time for vids. I started playing for money in the 1970’s when I left the navy. Been at it ever since. My guitars are just tax deductible tools to be honest. I do not play Strats live any more. . I have been a Kramerman, since 1986. Built like tanks! I never criticised the guys playing by the way. Just the overpriced ugly Stratocaster. Probably the Dumble amp was responsible for the tone. My 70’s hardtail Strat is just as trashed, but by natural wear and tear. Just saying.
This all makes total sense. I don’t think there’s anyone better to showcase this guitar.
Amazing Aaron, the best.
Have one, just awesome guitar !
That sounded great through a crappy iPad speaker - must have been magical in the room. Beautiful guitar, great playing and probably a magical amp!
Well, to say how much time they spent matching the damage and ware on Mike's original guitar WTF happened with the back of the neck? It looks like they just took an orbital sander and blasted all the finish of it? I don't think Mike's or any other old strat looks anything like that. You'd have expected fender to have at least stained the back of the neck?
It'll probably just get grubby after a year of playing, but yeh... it looks a bit odd as sold.
All the relics are like that...look fake af
Hi Aaron, very beautiful guitar and demo. She is very close to the hurricane Stratocaster, that also played. Would you also tell me which microphones, recording interface and DAW you did use for this video?
This guitar has been my dream for over 20 some odd years at this point. I'll NEVER be able to afford, let alone play it, with it's ridiculously priced $15,000+ price tag, but it's nice to know they're out there.
Have you looked at the made in Mexico sig? Hell it's not the same as this but with a bit of extra staining of the body here and there you could get close to the look. Plus you could upgrade the shit out of the pick ups, electronics and be miles of the price of this.
If you like this and can afford it, then enjoy. In general though I like to consider if these are expensive because I’m paying for a guitar, or I’m paying for an illusion. Just make your own decision, its as nice or as average as you think it is. Good luck with your music!
That amp is something incredible
Looks awesome but the reality is you could not wear down to the wood on the body and neck without also getting a ton of gunk and oil stains on the unprotected wood. It's not like you could play off all the finish from the neck and stop before it got dirty. Still rad.
I wonder if it looked like that in 92 at Lollapalooza in Kitsap County Fairgrounds. I can’t remember
Never clicked on anything so fast
I thought Mike bought his burst from Danny Mangold?
It sounds good but that constant 60 cycle hum , no thank u. I do really like the relic job.
It sure sounds like my strat to me 😂
The way you presented it was very good I appreciate it but I'm going to tell you I own the guitar and I'm a guy who does not like Pearl Jam I do not like their guitar player and I normally don't like Relic guitars and I especially never liked Mexican made guitars. I'm also a Telly guy. Why say all that? Because I love this guitar it's very well made the price tag of 1899 is nothing I don't know what the problem is think about what guitars cost today in you tell me if that's a rip-off it's not and by the way the pickups are amazing the only thing I don't like is that mine is more than seven and a half pounds that's a little on the heavy side for my liking but I still bought it
Simply put, replicas with such silly price tags like this giitar just boggle my mind that people would pay so much money for them.
a guitar and amp 99.9% of people here will never be able to afford lol
Maybe tune it..
What a crazy world, pay a small fortune for a guitar that looks as if its been dragged behind a truck for teo miles.😂
Relic’ing is the biggest (and most profitable, I’m guessing) scam perpetrated on guitarists. Fake cred without paying dues. Don’t even TRY to deny it. 🤣
Lol. Denied.
Agreed! Let's ruin a guitars appearance and ask 10x the price and watch dummies run to buy them lol
Personal foul, gatekeeping, 15 yards. Heaven forbid someone has a guitar that looks how they want it to without paying vintage prices.
These master built strats are a joke. Look like turd (most of them) and cost an arm and a leg.
Who cares
Apparently you care enough to comment 🙃
