I actually really liked reigan getting exposed and having that heartfelt moment with mob. It just shows how he self reflected and how they both have made such a big impact on each other’s lives. Without reigan who knows where mob would be, and without mob who knows where reigan would be.

The Rocker X I also preferred season 1, just because I really liked the idea of Ritsu gaining powers and turning sorta evil for a couple episodes and how he was jealous of his brother

I would only argue on your point about the slice of life elements. The story arcs involving Mob and Reigen especially were something really special. The build-up to the conclusions between Mob and Mogami/Asagiri and Mob and Reigen respectively were, to me, some of the most genuinely touching moments in entertainment that I've seen. There was always an indication that there was going to be those kind of reckonings between the characters especially as Mob grows up.
Though I see what you were getting at - the fights and humor elements around them were certainly some of the most unique and awesome takeaways from the show, but I feel like you did undercut the significance of Reigen and Mob's entire relationship which is a massive part of the show.

4:49 Reigen's arc is one of my favorite things about season 2. And don't even get me started on the part were Mob and Reigen meet up at the bridge. That part hit my emotions like a damn truck

I respectfully disagree. The ark with Reigen being revealed as a scam, but Mob still considers his master and his friend a good guy was one of the most wholesome scenes in an anime imo.

They have like 20 different top tier unorthodox animators animate each episode, with multiple animators animating different individual scenes of one fight scene. Some scenes are done in just pencil and charcoal with other scenes done with fucking sand it’s crazy. And the psycadelic effects of this show allows for the bending of characters so the show isn’t so stiff like a lot of other shows. Much like one punch man season 1 was super fluid in its characters movements mob psycho does the same thing except with a full studio of artists that get to take their time and just experiment with art styles they’ve been wanting to try out. They get to all be themselves and be completely different from what the last scene was just showing. There’s absolutely no consistency in Mob Psycho and it works great for the show.

Honestly one of the most perfectly executed scene was when Reigen just walked up to a teleporter and punched him and tricked him into thinking he was really powerful. I love how in that scene he just casually walked up and just flailed.
4:50 wtf are you talking about, that part was definetly the best part in the whole series. The amount of character development and how that episode changed my pespectiv on who Reigen and wgo Mob was just fucking amazing and definetly the most memorable moment in the whole series.

Mob Psycho is so good, it has some beautiful fight scenes and incredibly heartwarming moments. Also most, if not all, of the characters are so likeable and unique. Best anime I've seen in years

I gotta argue that the opm story as it progresses get much more interesting than mob psycho in my opinion, I think the opm world still has much more to offer where as mob psychos plot starts losing interest after the big brocolli arc.

God i love this show and im glad you liked it too. I started it after finishing one punch man a while back and i gotta say I do like it a lot more. Reigen is hands down one of my favorite characters in anime period. Him himself and his relationship with mob is really great to see.
Mob has gone from a unique, fantastic one-off to a modern masterpiece. Season 2 just elevated the show to a whole other level when it was already beyond great. Its wild having that feeling of what you're watching 'live' being something that will become a classic for the next 50+ years.
By far one of my favourite part of mob psycho 100 is that every time Reigan hits an enemy it just goes like “face punch this is reigans special attack” never fails to make me laugh

The self defence moment in season 2 made me laugh my ass off
Very endearing characters and style too. Rare to see such a down to earth characters in a coming of age anime (psychic elements aside) and I love how we get to see the personal growth of both a high school kid and a man in his 20s.
Personally I think mob psycho would be a great show even without the comedy; the comedy is just the added bonus to the great story and characters. The mogami and reign arcs in season 2 are so good

I'm actually very happy that you liked Mob Psycho so much. It's SUCH a good show and the fact that you gave it such a high rating really made me appreciate everything it consisted of a lot more than I already did. (And that's saying a lot 'cause I REALLY like this show.)

Bro season 2 episode 7 was the arguably one of the best episodes I have ever seen in an anime.
Season 2 definitely did my favourite part of the show beautifully; the characters. The Reigen Arc, As well as the simple, slice-of-life episodes where the characters just interact with each other were some of my personal favourite episodes of the show, but where Season 2 started to feel like it had too much on its plate was when they made the 2nd Claw arc 5 EPISODES, which was kinda my main issue. The episodes don’t feel very disjointed until we get to episode 12, which spent its entire runtime on Serizawa and hyping up the Toichiro battle. Episode 13 just had WAY too much to do, and felt like a little bit of a rushed product. It tried to cram Toichiro’s backstory, the fight itself, setting up the broccoli arc and leave the Season on a satisfying note until 2021, when we presumably get another season, all in one episode, which it just couldn’t. All in all, Season 2 definitely had Higher Highs than Season 1, but just did t have the same buttery smooth pacing, and as a whole, Season 1 still edged Season 2 Out by a bit. Despite having the Shizamaki fight, my personal favourite from the entire show.

It honesty wasn't terrible, it restored my faith in season 2. Now it's not NEALRY as good as season 1, but that makes since season 1 of opm's animation was a miracle. On normal anime animtion standards Opm season 2 is pretty alright 👌🏾
@@puffnstuff7905 anime has become a victim of its own success. it just doesnt generate as much revenue as it did during the glory days of the 80s and early 90s, and CGI techniques are a lifesaver in terms of budget/time restrictions. yes, most or all of us would prefer it all be hand drawn, but lets face it. how many of us watched this as a fansub? i know i did, and im willing to bet most of you did too. think about all that lost revenue that didnt exist before the late 90s!

Well, i am more into dark and serious stuff like berserk, monster, psycho-pass etc. I fully understand that mob psycho 100 is a phenomenal anime with outstanding animation by bones, but light-hearted storytelling with lots of comedy is just not my thing. I have watched the first 3 eps.

Mob Psycho 100 is one of the best anime out there. One (what the author goes by) really knows how to intertwine comedy, action, and deep life lessons into his stories. Whether you watch One Punch Man or Mob Psycho 100 you really feel for his characters in his stories. Both of them are really great and to all the anime fans out there and that I know personally I can't recommend these ones enough. Truly great entertainment.

Season 2 was a fucking roller coaster... I think the whole series of calm/less intense episodes was to make you complacent and comfortable until you get to... a certain episode... then the show got real dark, real fast. I still get chills thinking about the last minute or 2 of that episode.

The animation and artstyle took a nosedive in quality. JC staff isn't known for animation and it shows in OPM season 2. I've read the manga and was really hyped for it; sad it couldn't be animated by madhouse or bones. The cinematography in the new season is ugly and cheap; likely being the seed of a bad budget, schedule and animators. Sound design is crap, the editing and cuts are poorly executed and theres a distinct lack of soundtrack.
